  1. Salamence is Uber.

now it appears as though dragonite is the only dragon that is not uber ^Flygon? Kingdra? Altaria (lol)? 1.How will salamence's removal effect the metagame? I really think people are overestimating how much this will affect OU, possibly because I was pro-OU for mence in the first place. It...
  2. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

I was thinking about Sub Pain Split Gengar. Would it be of any use to lower its HP IV to 0 to increase the amount of HP he sucks from the opponent? I mean, Gengar should never be taking hits anyway, so it seems like this would work.
  3. To Victory! {UU Sunny Day Team}

Having gotten used to the OU metagame, I thought I'd try out UU. My first thought was Victreebel, a pokemon I've always liked, but I had no idea how viable it was competitively. A quick look at its analysis page made it clear - I was going to have to make a sunny day team. Which was fine by me...
  4. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics - June 2010

Starmie's the #15 lead now? I'm guessing that Smog article helped give it some attention at last. But I was using it long before it was cool. >_>
  5. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer. (RoA Version + resource links)

I was just reading through RBY movesets for no real reason, and I notice Hyper Beam is very prevalent. What made it so much more viable back then?
  6. Team Star Flare returns!

Thanks for the advice. I never considered gengar as a switch in to gliscor. My only question is that according to http://www.smogon.com/dp/moves/grass_knot GK hits for 200 BP against milotic/ suicune, not 240, so is this wrong?
  7. Team Star Flare returns!

Flygon can't touch gliscor, he's way too weak. :/ Gyarados and heatran work quite well together, it looks like, so that would make sense, but starmie's like the most threatening member of the team, I don't want to replace it... I'd better read up more on Gyara. As for GK, that only hits...
  8. Team Star Flare returns!

Eh, I'm happy with the pain split set for now. Protect and sub seems a little overkill, and it's nice to be able to defeat those annoying blissey. Heatran is pretty eh. It defeats more common leads than swampert (it's nice to have an answer to azelf) but new problems are appearing... I have no...
  9. RMT: Frank's OU team

I would also like to point out that there's immaturity on both sides here, like the guy who sigged this thread. I'm sorry you don't like my suggestions OP but I was only trying to help.
  10. RMT: Frank's OU team

This is ridiculous and shouldn't have gotten to this. All I did was make some suggestions and you reacted in an extremely immature and hostile manner. Hell, the changes I suggested weren't even that different to your original team. Why are you whining about "the same 6 pokemon" or whatever? The...
  11. Team Star Flare returns!

Re: Starmie, I tried recover and just didn't find enough oppurtunities to use it on such an offensive set. I certainly wouldn't want to lose ice beam... Tried out pain split gengar, and I'm liking it. It's much fiercer with a life orb, and doesn't need an imperfect speed IV. Gonna try out...
  12. Team Star Flare returns!

Yeah, I thought someone would say that. My only concern would be the lack of a phazer if I use heatran. Not sure how much of a problem this would be, though I guess the only way to find out is to test it out. @_@ EDIT: Yes, I'm definitely going with pain split gengar Eggbert. Looks so much...
  13. My First RMT (But not first team)

Heatran is probably a better revenge killer than typhlosion, bearing in mind that if starmie doesn't get the chance to rapid spid, eruption's power would already be hindered. Plus, heatran is more powerful and has better resistances. Solarbeam is useless without sunny day support anyways. Here...
  14. Team Star Flare returns!

Ugh, I just can't break the 1400ish range. :/ Pain Split definitely seems like the superior option on gengar, as with a life orb he actually hits everything 1x weak to fire harder with the appropriate neutral attack, and can take care of some walls too (especially that asshole blissey). In fact...
  15. RMT: Frank's OU team

It's nothing to do with "having a theme". You seem to be trying to run a trick room team with a bunch of speedy pokes whilst also playing offensively but then you slap in weezing who's completely out of place. "EVs: Unknown" is a good start. There is no reason not to maximise Rhyperior's attack...
