I quiet met with some of them too (with shuckle...) . The best you could do is Fake out + fighting attack, so you could attack again next turn or predict a switch. Taunt (hope it won't has mental herb..) or, like it was said, dynamicpunch + No Guard machamp. Edit: spore could also work.

I don't know if this is happening with someone else, but it keep saying that Hitmontop can't learn close combat, when you trying to search a battle (VGC style). I can't find the problem.

GF haven't released the snow cloak Articuno, yet. Because it could at least be useful.:(

well since def is a problem to volcarona, what about focus sash on it? it gives chance for one QD. But you must beware of priority moves, like mach punch, sucker punch, bullet punch, when your volcarona is with 1 HP. Volcarona@Focus Sash Modest/Timid -Quiver dance -Flamethrower -Bug Buzz...
