My all new RMT!

Not open for further replies.
This is my team, it has something like a 5-40 win rate,
(that is just a rough guess)
it's based around a Swords Dance Scizor,
My theory was (and is) he can gain a very large advantage,
because, everyone expects a Choice Banded one.
So here is the team building process.

Team Building

I started with a Swords dance Scizor,
I know I needed Someone who could take fire attacks.
Infernape came to mind, I adore Infernapes,
so I decided to go with him.

I knew I wanted a Empoleon lead, so that's easy to deicide.

The next pokemon is obvious.
It works together with Empoleon Flawlessly.
ROTOM-H

Me team lacks a main grass type,
it was between Breloom and Celebi,
but Breloom is more stall, so I went with Celebi.

OK, now I would like a dragon type,
Salamence! I choose you!

OK, their you have it.
Now I will post the team in detail.

The Lead
Empoleon @ Focus Sash
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Modest
EVs: 156 HP/252 SpA/100 Spe
~ Hydro Pump
~ Aqua Jet
~ Stealth Rock
~ Grass Knot
Comments:
I love Empoleon leads.
They can always win V.S:
Azelf, Aerodactyl, Metagross, Via Hydro Pump, followed by a aqua jet.
It can beat Swampert with grass knot (a OHKO)
and usually set up rocks.

Move Analysis
Hydro Pump: Hydro Pump a amazing move on Empoleon,
160 base power with stab, which makes 320 when in torrent range.
Aqua Jet: Very important on this set, Low power is made up for by +1 Priority, giving a lot of commom leads trouble.
Stealth Rock: A must on any lead, in my opinion.
Stealth rock is really spectacular on any bulky offense team.
Grass Knot/Ice Beam: I chose Grass knot over ice beam, because I have other pokemon who can deal with dragon types (scizor & Mence) and Breloom/Smeargle leads go to celebi (natural cure)

The Revenge Killer
Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
~ Thunderbolt
~ Overheat
~ Shadow Ball
~ Trick
Comments:
Rotom-H is my favorite revenge killer,
plus, he has perfect synergy with Empoleon.
He is fairly Bulky, While infernape in not,
so if Infernape bites the dust, this guy is usually still around,
which is useful for fire attaks later on.

Move Analysis
Thunderbolt: Thunderbolt is a aweome move. 157 base power (with stab)
and hits gyrados, suicune, and Skarmory (some of the most seen players in the OU metagame) very hard.
Overheat: Overheat is a very powerful move. No STAB on this one,
but still a whopping 140 base power.
Shadow ball: A big filler, but shadow ball helps with my otherwise ghost weakness.
Trick: Trick with a choice scarf really ruins Snorelax and Blissy,
along with things like a calm minding suicune, or anyone using curse.

The Setup sweeper/surprise
Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spe
~ Swords Dance
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Roost
Comments:
This is what I based my team off of.
He has the element of surprise,
along with amazing sweeping capabilities.
Everyone, always expects choice band.
always. So U try to take advantage of that.

Move Analysis
Swords Dance: Swords Dance is the main factor of this set.
nobody expects it, and it's very easy to bluff choice band.
Bullet Punch: The frosting on the cake. The grand daddy of all moves.
Bullet punch just rips through things.
Superpower: Super Power takes out Heatran, and more importently, Magnazone, who would otherwise ruin this set.
Roost: Roost really helps recover some damage, which is critical for a long sweep.

Set up sweeper #2
Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Naive
232 Atk/24 SpA/252 Spe
~ Dragon Dance
~ Dragon Claw
~ Earthquake
~ Fire Blast
This combination of moves gives him perfect coverage,
hitting every pokemon for at least nutaral damage.
Dragon Dancing Salamence is my favorite Mence set,
(mix being my second) and is my secondary setup sweeper.

Move Analysis
Dragon Dance: DD is what makes this set differ from other ones.
not only does it boost salamences already good Speed, but also his top notch attack!
Dragon Claw: a strange move, at least to replace Outrage, but it is enough to take care of other dragon types (which is why I have it) and still powerful with a DD, and I don't want the cunfuzzzzzzed status.
Earthquake: The most used move in the OU metagame. Their is a reason why. with 100 accuracy, and 100 power, it un-umatched.
Fire Blast: This is a great move, the only problems are: I have to split EVs, and, the accuracy, but both those are only minor problems, and with this, I attain perfect coverage.

The Special powerhouse
Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
EVs: 64 Atk/252 SpA/192 Spe
~ Fire Blast
~ Close Combat
~ Grass Knot
~ Hidden Power Ice
Comments
Infernape is my Favorite fire type in OU,
or any tier. This set gets amazing coverage,
Taking out un-suspecting Dragons with HP ice,
Wiping out grass and Ice types with fire Blast,
breaking through normal (and nuterally effected)
types with close combat, and water types with grass knot.

Move Analysis
Fire Blast: Fire blast with STAB is 180 base power, with great typing.
I think this is a must have on any Infernape.
Close Combat: Another Must have, and also one of my favorite moves in the game. amazing 120 power and 100% accuracy, the only problem is that is lowers Def and SpD, but that is only a small problem.
Grass Knot: This takes care of any Bulky water types that think they can switch in with impunity, suck as Swampert or Suicune.
HP Ice: This takes care of Dragons, as well as a more reliable way to take out breloom.

The Annoyer
Celebi @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Modest
EVs: 232 HP/244 SpA/32 Spe
~ Thunder Wave
~ Leaf Storm
~ Hidden Power Fire
~ Rest
Comments:
I love this set.
Thunderwave ruin's oppenents sweepers,
while letting me outrun almost anyone, without hardly any EVs in speed.
Which means more for bulk!
Rest and natural cure go awesome together,
and Hidden Power Fire, and Leaf storm Work well together.

Move Analysis:
Thunderwave: This is my only Status move, which naturally makes is importent. It really lowers sweeping potential, and makes Swords dancing with scizor, and DDing with Mence a lot easier.
Leaf Storm: A amazing 210 base power with STAB, easily takes out water types, as well as even denting those who resist it!
HP Fire: Hidden power Fire deals with other grass types, steals, and most importently, Scizor.
Rest: Rest is a very useful move to go with natural cure, completly refilling it's HP, and giving it more time to thunderwave the opponents team.

Threat List

little or no threat: black
a threat: orange
a big threat: red

Offensive Threat List

As a lead, Azelf can be dealt with rather easily. It will either Taunt or set up Stealth Rock. Either way, I will use Hydro Pump and do 100%. then Aqua Jet it.

I usually switch to Celebi, let them spore it, switch out to rotom-h (natural cure) and Overheat it.

Electivire, I have no really counter, so I usually just swicth to mence and try to earthquake it, or close combat it with Infernape,

once again, no real counter.
I usually try for a outrage from Mence or Ice Beam from Infernape.

I can sometimes OHKO with Bullet punch from Scizor, or I go to Rotom-h and Shadow ball it.

Thunderbolt via Rotom-h deals with him.

A quick OHKO from hidden Power ground (rotom-h)

Overheat from rotom-h or Earthquake from Mence.

Jolteon is troublesome, I can only hope to use hidden power ground, or leaf storm from Celebi (resists electric)

Rotom-h can deal with it with t-bolt, but swift swim ones give my trouble.

Shadow Ball from rotom-h.

Overheat from Rotom, Earthquake from mence, t-wave then leaf strom from celebi.

Dynamic Punch doesn't effect Rotom, so I switch to that, then use overheat/t-bolt

Fire Blast from Infernape, Overheat from Rotom, Superpower from Scizor.

Grass knot from Empoleon or Infernape

They give Scior a chance to set up, and can be dealth with by Infernape Salamence Rotom Empoleon.

I usually go with t-bolt from rotom, or HP Ice from Infernape.

Infernape or Rotom-h deals with it.

Shadow Ball from rotom.

Usually a Close combat from infernape or superpower from Scizor.

Superpower/bullet punch from Scizor, and Close Cobat from Infernape

Rotom-H or Infernape.

Defensive Threat List

Easily taken out by Infernape or Scizor.

Infernape, or Rotom-h

Usually Shaodw ball. (rotom)

Shadow Ball Again.

Close Combat from Infernape or SuperPower From Scizor.

Rotom-h or Infernape

Hydro Pump from Empoleon

Usually Shadow Ball. (rotom-h)

Thunderbolt from rotom.

Trick from rotom, Close Combat from Infernape, or superpower from Scizor.

Grass Knot from Infernape or Empoleon

Usually Earthquake from mence, or t-bolt from Rotom-h.

I haven't got anything to counter it, so usually just a Leaf Storm from Celebi (strongest move I have)

t-bolt from rotom.

Usually use thunderwave, then just hit it with random attacks xD

The conclusion
Well, you must be a good reader to have made it this far,
give yourselfs a hand. -claps-

Just a awesome fact: My team attains perfect coverage,
their is someone resistant to every type :D

Thank you for reading my longest RMT ever,
and please rate me,
and, hope you enjoyed!

:toast:

Okay, first thing: this is a nice team ^^

but if you really need it, some suggestions:

- You can replace fire blast with flamethrower if you dislike the acc.
- You can also change superpower to brick break on scizor. Because of the attack drop.

and of course some questions ^^:

- How is it easy for scizor to bluff choice band, since your opponents can see life orb damage?

- Does your rotom have shadow ball or hp ground, because the moveset contains hp ground and move analysis says shadow ball?

But anyway this is a nice team indeed!

For Umbreon, Iw ould CC Inferanape if you keep it. However, Infernape is frail. Very frail. If you want someone to take Fire attacks, I would sugest either Kingdra or Heatran. In this case, mixed RD Kingdra could help out your team I think, because RD also softens the blows of Fire attacks for your whole team, and it, like Infernape, is an excellent wallbreaker.

jolteon is a very big problem to your team because even celebi cant beat it since most have signal beam and shadow ball. Dusknoir can counter it with EQ since shadow ball won't be doing to much to it.

@ blackscizor: Life orb doesnt reduce his hp unless he attacks. I think when he said bluff, he meant the turn that he uses SD so the opponent wouldnt know if it had life orb or not (although experienced players may and switch to a fire type).

@ Black Scizor, that's for the great rate!
As for the questions,
- How is it easy for scizor to bluff choice band, since your opponents can see life orb damage?
Answer: What Quick Man said.
- Does your rotom have shadow ball or hp ground, because the moveset contains hp ground and move analysis says shadow ball?
Oops sorry, it's shadow ball.

@ Mismancerox: I see what you mean.
I don't really want a kingdra, (it would mess up the synergy.)
but a Heatran would work, any set suggestions?

@ Quick Man: I don't really want a Dusknoir,
(it's way to stall for this bulky offense team)
Any other good counters that wouldn't really mess up my Synergy,
I am willing to switch pokemon, as long as they have the same synergy for the team.

Thanks for the great rates everyone!

Hey guys, this is my 24 BUMP,
plus, I was testing out Torment Tran instead or Infernape,
and it's working really will. Opinions?

SD Scizor isn't nearly as surprising as you think. On the other hand, you hardly need surprise to get in a Swords Dance; Scizor can cause enough switches on his own. In any case, it looks like a good team, but Infernape really can't take Fire attacks. Heatran, as suggested above, works extremely well. Salamence could really use Outrage. You can say whatever you like about it, but the fact is, Outrage is a 200 base power move (with STAB) compared to Dragon Claw, which is 120 with STAB. Not only that, but although it locks him in, DDmence is not an early game pokemon. Back in the day, he was, but in this metagame, DDmence comes in at the end, when you've seen your opponent's team, DDs up, and Outrages to clean up the rest. Even if your opponent has some kind of a Dragon counter, Outrage will do an unreal amount of damage. It really is worthwhile, and you will see much more use out of it then you will Dragon Claw.
