Hm, as far as broken systems go:
GCN that I got in December 01 died in summer 02. The refurbished unit I got from Nintendo then died in 03. The refurbished I got from them is still going but DREs every now and then.

My Xbox 360 from 06 died in August 08. The rerfurbished unit from Microsoft is still going.

My Wii disc drive is acting up so I've started ripping my newer games to an HDD and then playing off that to extend the life as long as I can.

wow it disturbs me how many people game systems got stolen o.0
There should be a safekeeping class in every single grade. I witnessed a guy getting pissed at his iPod being stolen because he 'thought' the security was soo good he could leave stuff unlocked for hours

Well mine was stolen before I ever entered a school and it was in a house, which I'd call pretty safe most of the time =p

Consoles that I have: Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii

Handhelds that I have: Gameboy, Gameboy Color, GBA, Nintendo DS, PSP

I also use my PC for gaming

Not too many for me.

Handhelds:

Gameboy, lost.
Gameboy colour, still works.
Gameboy Advance, still works.
DS Lite, works.

Consoles:
Playstation, still works.
Playstation 2, won it :-) still works.

Never had a console break - though I've got through about half a dozen controllers.

EDIT: Not many systems here, but to be honest there aren't any I want and don't have now. The DS was the main one, I only got that recently, it seems to be where the best games are now.

Consoles:

- Playstation 1 (1999-ish, didn't play it, i think mostly because of difficulty and low patience (I was 5 at the time)) - Stored away in garage.
- Nintendo 64 (2000) Blue & yellow Pokemon Edition, mainly for Stadium & SSB - Sold
- PLaystation 2 (2005) Slim-line, quite a while after the release of the initial console, finally dicided to get one - Was used as DVD player & accational player, however it has stopped working.
- Wii (Jan 2009) Bought myself, quite enjoy it - Main current game is Brawl

Handhelds:
- GB Colour (1999 or 2000) Teal/Aqua colour - Only games were Gold & Silver - Sold
- GBA (maybe 03-04?) Loved it, mainly for Pokemon, but also Mario Kart & others - Sold
- DS Lite (Christmas 2007) Black, again mainly for Pokemon, but others such as Mario.

Apart from the Playstation, i have had none of my consoles break, luckily.

Consoles:

- Atari 2600 (in a landfill)
- NES (in a landfill)
- SNES (in a landfill)
- N64 (sold at garage sale)
- Gamecube (broken recently, just thrown away, on way to landfill)
- Wii (broken recently, not discarded yet, soon)
- Xbox 360 (still have, of course this is #2)

Handhelds:

Gameboy (original, ex-girlfriend stole it. bitch)
GBA (taken apart to install backlight. never reassembled)
GBA SP (still have it, wife likes to play tetris)
DS Fat (gave to daughter, she lost it, of course)
DS Lite 1 (still have, A button and right shoulder worn down)
DS Lite 2 (still have, still works. yay!)
PSP (original, still have)

Completely skipped the color and pocket era of gameboys. No Playstations at this point. Not fanboyism, but never the right time where it had that must have game and I made the impulse purchase.

GCN and Wii were both purchased on release date. The Wii camp out really really sucked. It was miserably cold that night.

More like DS Lite 1 (before PRNG). Lol.

Consoles

- Sega Genesis (still break it out to play Sonic from time to time)
- PS1 (old) (given to me by a cousin with rated-T games yeah!)
- PS2 (the last console my parents bought for me)
- PS3 (I own one, but have never played it)
- Gamecube

Handhelds:

- Gameboy Pocket (light blue) (first game system ever; great Christmas that year)
- Gameboy Color (neon green,) (ah, memories of blue Charizard and red Lapras)
- GBA ("glacier" blue)
- GBA SP (black) (no batteries?!)
- DS Lite

Never got any Microsoft consoles; no money and red ring of death have kept me away, though I do like playing Halo.

I suggest everyone with a sizable number use Firestorm's format

Not me tough, I'm not that blessed (you'll agree with me if say that having all 3 new gens IS being blessed) , so I'll just throw them all together

(born in '92, started on the arcades and the ol' Sega Rally in '96)

Game Boy Pocket (1997) - I seriously forgot if I borrowed it or not, but I'm afraid it was left under the new wooden floor :/
Game Boy Advance (2002) - In a shelve overhead
Gaming desktop (2004) - Gaining dust, the graphics card burned up
PSP 1000 "Fat" (2006) - Playing NFS Shift on it atm. Unlocked :)

Current laptop has a onborad graphics card... enough said.
