The pokemon cratworld of the Eldars [peaked #47 OU]

"There is only WAR"

Introduction
Hello all smogoners out there. It's now time to post my first RMT (On this account) since i'm feeling that i'm not reaching anywhere but to the point i already am at. That's why i need your help. The team has reached 47# on the leaderboard which is something i'm not that proud of. This team was made about 2-3 months ago and has since that not had any significant changes except some EVs tweaks here and some moveset change there.
(There may be some harsh language in here)

Team building progress

So i started making this team on day when i were bored watching youtube. I then found a video of a great CurseSnorlax sweep inspiring me into making this team. Without any further ado i'll start to show you the building of this team.

Snorlax, the king and the reason i wanted to make this team obviously had to be in here so there's not really much to say about that.

Now which pokemon puts up the biggest threat to a Snorlax? The super effective ones, the fighting ones. Machamp, Breloom, Luke and Infernape all wins over him. And which pokemons are good counters for there guys? Ghosts. Rotom. I could aswell have gone for either Spiritomb or Gengar but my love for Rotom is immense. He resist what hits Lax for SE and put big damage counters back.

Now the two hugest physical walls of OU have always been and will always be Forry and Skarmory. Both of these totally walls Snorlax unless you put on Fire punch which can do some damage, or atleast to Forry, which i don't feel like a need. Instead i putted up the simple plan of adding a LOTran to my team to handle those and be a sweeping partner to Snorlax.

Another pokemon i had been using with succes lately were SpecsRoserade a absolute beast when it comes to hitting on the switch. This would also work as a fodder for fire attacks that Heatran could eat.

Now i felt i needed what many people call "The glue." In this case the "Zapdos."Zapdos only has two weaknesses, Ice and Rock where only one of them is shared with another pokemon, Ice with Roserade. This gives me great typage.

Ow fuck i need a lead. When playing this kinda Bulky offense that i am i always feel that leads that sets up SR 99% of the time is required. Swampert was my lead of choice here.

Ow fuck i need priority. If for example a Tyranitar gets up a DD i am screwed. Time to make the final adjusment: Scizor in Heatran out.

Team at a glance

Finally onto the fucking team.

Wraithguard (Swampert) @Focus sash

Stealth rock
Toxic
Waterfall
Earthquake

Swampert have always been a staple lead almost guranteeing you to get up Stealth rocks. The EVs is used to ensure to maximize my natural dual bulk. I have never seen this set scoring a OHKO against anything except for Heatran. Most pokemons gets either 2OHKOd or 3OHKOd even without any EVs invested in Attack. One thing i've found great with this set is that it doesn't care about getting Tricked a scarf since it can do pretty well late game sweeps taking down pokemons that already is at 1-50% Health. Ice beam was scrapped for Toxic here because i felt Ice beam didn't give me the coverage i wanted, and was actually a complete waste of space. You know there is not that much to put a comment on on Swampert. He's weak to Grass.....Dumbshit comment. O yeah he has great type coverage since he's only weakness is Grass which is resisted by four other team members.
Against other leads:

Azelf: SR then try to predict when the explode comes so i can switch to Rotom

Machamp: SR then Toxic to get rid of LUm berry. After he has killed me i go straight in to Rotom to get of a WoW

Aerodactyl: Waterfall on the Taunt and Waterfall on the SR.

Metagross: SR then EQ till i die. Hope for crit hax.

The Wraithguard are Eldar warriors whose spirits are saved from death itself and risen once more to wage war for their kin.

EV: |252 HP| 96 Atk| 80 Def| 80 SpDf|
Adamant nature
Immunty

Curse
Rest
Body slam
Crunch

Random EV spread is Random. This is heck of random. I basiclly just threw together some numbers that'd make the bulkiness gods happy while still putting in some Attack EV. When this guy comes out it's like "This is IIMMUUNNIITTYYLLAAXX!" I know very many of you would argue Thick fat is a much better option but Immunity let's me just focus on sweeping much more, not having to use Rest to put off a Toxic doing 30% damage. What's so great and easy bout CurseLax is that he can setup on about every single special pokemon in OU and from there also wall physicals. When creating this moveset i knew i wanted the Curse and Body slam, the two obvious moves on a CurseLax. Next i can't run Sleep talk with Rest on this set. That would leave me with only Body slam as my attacking option meaning i'd be walled by all ghosts in the world all the day long. So Rest Lum it is since i really want some kind of recovery.

Here are some damage calculations i ran with BS after 1 Curse:

0/0 Ape 80.9%-95.6%
0/0 Dragonite 57.6%-68.1%
0/0 Flygon 71.8%-84.7%
0/0 Starmie 78.5%-93.1%

As you can see Stealth rock often helps me getting some nice KOs. Although DO NOT GET TRICKED by the low amount of damage being displayed here, i do rarely attack if i don't have two curses up which allows me to KO every single on the pokemons mentioned above with SR.

"Avatars are incarnations of the Eldar War God, Kaela Mensha Khaine. During the Fall of the Eldar, Khaine fought with SlaaneshCraftworlds. Wherever his essence landed, a wraith artifact was created, allowing future Eldar to be able to summon him when needed shortly after his birth, following the destruction of the Eldar gods. During the battle, Khaine's essence was dismantled and scattered across the many galaxy, landing in the hearts of the remaining Eldar"

Leaf storm

Damn it this guy is my out to so many big threats to this team that i'd never think about replacing it right now. It mainy helps my team to Protect Snorlax by being jumped on my fighting types. And the throwing out random WoWs at the switches. The Evs spread is also here quite random and purely made to be dual bulky. Cmon there is nothing to say about this guy. Every move fills it's purpose and everything is fine as it is. I've often seen Heatrans coming in to kill me getting the Flash fire boost on my WoWs but you know, that doesn't really matter. My team can handle a +1 Fire Heatran especially if Swampert is still alive. Otherwise i can just go into Snorlax and go BS for Phara hax..... and for fun.

"A Ranger is an Eldar who has decided to leave their Craftworld and the Eldar Path, choosing instead to follow the Path of the Outcast in favour of seeking excitement and adventure in the open galaxy. Many never return to their Craftworld; dying alone and forgotten or falling from grace into the hands of Slaanesh. Sometimes however Rangers return to their Craftworld having sated their desire for adventure and are welcomed back1."

The Scizor. The CB Scizor. I can't stress enough my love to this set and it's variety of uses. This pokemon is here to basiclly take on what the rest of the team can not handle. For example Machamps at half HP gets badly KOd by Scizor. Another example of this is Kingdra which can set-up on for example Rotom and from there sweep until it meets it's overforce in Scizor. Though the Scizor has it weaknesses and can rarely sweep a team on it's own. When it hits Metagross, Skarmory, Forry or Heatran it just says Poof and the Bug wants back to it's ball. Though most of those steel types are fixed by the HP Fire from a Roserade (except Hetaran of course.)

"The Striking Scorpions are one of the forms of Eldar Aspect Warrior, focusing on the close combat aspect of battle. They epitomize silent death, preferring to stealthily approach the enemy. Notably, their physical strength is comparably superior to that of other Eldar warriors.1 Their weapons and armour allow them to work very well against large numbers of weaker opponents and to a considerable degree, opponents physically stronger than them."

Fire dragon (Roserade) @ Choice specs

Timid nature

Energy ball
Shadow ball
Sludge bomb
HP Fire

FIRE POOWWAA! I do just about never let's this guy go down. No. He is way to precious for me. The thing is that he can hit like 90% of the OU pokemons for super effective damage which is just to good to be passed up on. I do quite often feel that i need HP Ground (When fighting Heatrans) but in the end Fire wins over Ground by far in the battle of Hidden powas. Metagross, Forry, and Skarmory is a great list of pokes to hit with it. As said in the team-building progress i've used this guy on all of my letest teams and i will continue to do so since the Energy ball of his can plow through teams like nothing. I haven't ran damage calculations but you can try it out for yourself and see what i mean. Heatran, Aero and Gliscor a few pokemons that can cause trouble to Rose but all of them can be picked up by another team member.

"The Fire Dragons are an aggressive and warlike type of Aspect Warrior, whose flame coloured armour signifies their destructive nature. They specialise in short-range firepower and anti-tank warfare."

Swooping hawk (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
EV: |176 Def| 252 Spe| 80 Sp.Atk|
Timid nature
Pressure

U-Turn
Thunderbolt
Thunder-wave
Roost

A kinda weird set right here but still it's working really good. U-Turn is the piece of weirdness in here but it's really great for scouting (unless they have SR up because it's not worth takin 25% damage just for a scout.) Roost and Thunderbolt were obvious and Thunder-wave have proved more helpful then i ever could think. it let's Snorlax setup ten times easier and it often gives Zapdos a chance to Roost up when they get Phara haxed. The EV spread gives me some physical bulk high speed and some attacking power. You know it kinda sucks to only have TBolt as a real attacking move since it can get totally resisted, but i do often have easy switch-ins for most ground poekmons. As said earlier Zapdos works like a glue for this team, the thing that hold the team offensive while still being quite bulky.

Like 2-3 hours of my life passed by while writing this RMT. Like another 2-3 hours of my life was also passed by due to the 3 Red bulls i drinked when making this. Take time to rate

Thanks

To handle

How they're threats
Tyranitar can come in on Scizor locked into Pursuit, Roserade locked into Hidden power Fire, or even force Rotom out due to the threat of Crunch/Pursuit, it can then set up a DragonDance, and sweep your team clean with Stone Edge/Crunch/Fire Punch. If it has babiri berry, Scizor doesn't stand a chance. Since swampert is your lead, and by the looks of it, you try to use it as a suicide lead of sorts, nothing will be stopping Tyranitar's rampage, other than Snorlax at full health, but after prior damage, it can't do much. Dragonite is similar to Tyranitar, and can also come in on Scizor/Roserade locked into the wrong move, set-up dragonDance and sweep your team between DragonClaw/Earthquake/Fire Punch and sweep your team, more of a chance with Stealth Rock up. Chesto rest Kingdra can shrug off Roserade's HP fire, Scizor's Bullet Punch, Rotom's Thunderbolt after Leaf Storm recoil, as well as Zapdos' Thunderbolt, set-up multiple Dragon Dances, rest, and sweep. Finally Skarmory and Blissey, walls the entire team, and if they have hazards down, they will cause your team to switch out ALOT, and eventually weakened due to residual damage. Skarmory walls swampert, snorlax, scizor, uses them as set-up fodder especially with Taunt, whereas Blissey can just cripple with Zapdos, Rotom, Roserade, with status and attempt to stall them out.

Solutions
I think Will-O-Wisp Scarf Rotom can work well over your current Rotom-A. basically, you outspeed tyranitar if it has Life Orb or babiri Tyranitar, and cripple it with Will-O-Wisp, same for Dragonite. This way, their attack will be cut in half, so other team members can pick them off, and take their weakened hits. Life Orb plus burn damage will eat up their life span very quickly, and Scizor can make quick work of them with Bullet Punch. Obviously if its Lum berry tyranitar, then Scizor can handle it, no problem. Rotom can also revenge Infernape with Thunderbolt if it has taken a few rounds of Life Orb recoil, or has -1Sdef drop due to Close Combat. It can also simply trick Kingdra as it Dragon Dances, and so it makes Kingdra's stat upping useless, and grants Snorlax a perfect chance to switch in and set-up on kingdra locked into DragonDance.

Here's the set:

Ranger (Rotom-C) @ Choice Scarf
EV: |200HP|56 Satk| 252 Spe|
Timid nature
Levitate

Will-o-wisp
Thunderbolt
Shadow ball
Trick

To handle Skarmory and Blissey, I think Taunt+Life Orb heatran will work very well over Zapdos. Zapdos' and Rotom's roles over lap, as it looks like both are tailored to handle things like Lucario, and bulky waters, which Rotom already does, even better with Scarf. Plus Roserade and heatran have excellent synergy together. Roserade can come in on bulky waters that annoy heatran and fire off specs boosted STAB energy balls. Try a set of Taunt|Fire Blast|Earth power|Hidden power Grass, Timid nature, 252Satk/252Spe/4HP. With this you taunt blissey from recovery and status, and destroy it with fire blast. As for Skarmory, it doesn't stand a chance vs. Fire Blast. Heatran also assists Snorlax in getting multiple curses, as it eliminates Skarmory, Forretress, and Swampert with Roar (Hidden power Grass), who would other wise trouble Snorlax's set up process

Other options I can think of, are giving Swampert leftovers, 252HP/216Def/52Spdef, and a relaxed nature, and Protect/Ice Beam over waterfall/toxic. This will allows Swampert to work as a very durable tank mid game, tanking hits from tyranitar and dragonite, while scouting for explosions via Protect. i also suggest you don't play him so recklessly as he can tank hits from many physical attackers.

Thanks you for the rate, TLK (if i can call you that :P). Now that i look at your rate it for this team seems kinda bad to have two choicers. So as you suggest i should try to go back to Heatran. The fits with the name "Fire dragon" even better =D. As for the Swampert i guess i'll try that to

//Korpandor

I was gonna say Heatran over Roserade. But then i edited that out, since Roserade is your only water resist. heatran over Zapdos is better for the reasons listed in the rate. It doesn't really matter if you have two choice users, as one of them has trick, and heatran has stall covered pretty well already.

I'll try out both of those changes tommorow. Although i still wanna have Zapdos on my team, it's just doing so much.

Hello. I just wanted to point out first of all, that Specs Roserade is completely outclassed by Shaymin. Shaymin has access to Seed Flare which has a 40% chance of lowering the foe's Special defence by two stages and is vastly superior compared to Energy Ball as a Seed Flare from Shaymin is much more powerful than Energy Ball from Roserade. Secondly, Shaymin is faster than Roserade (100 base speed) and is also way more bulky meaning it is able to take a few hits on top of having a superior movepool with access to Earthpower. Basically, Shaymin can do what you are attempting to do with Roserade except it can do it better. You could try out a Specs Shaymin but I feel like a LO Shaymin is even better because you still have a lot of offensive power but you are must more versatile since you can switch between moves. Use the following moveset: Seed Flare | Earthpower | Rest | HP Fire / HP Ice with Life Orb, a Timid nature with this EV spread: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe.

With that out of the way, I'm going to reccomend that you change Swampert's moveset to: Ice Beam | Earthquake | Protect | SR with Leftovers as an item, a Relaxed nature and 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe. Swampert does not need Focus Sash at all. That item is usually used on frail Pokemon that are easily OHKOed. In fact, Swampert is probably the last Pokemon that should use Focus Sash because it is only OHKOed by a strong Grass- type move and you already three resists to it. The goal of the EVs is basically to take on Tyranitar and DD Dragonite with greater ease. The MixPert set is usually superior to the all out physical as it hits bulky Ground- types such as Gliscor (which can stall you out with Toxic + Roost) and Hippowdon much harder. Protect can help you gain some HP with Leftovers, can ease prediction by scouting and can help you evade Explosions.

At a glance, your team is actually ravaged by a LO Heatran with HP Grass. Using Thick Fat instead of Immunity somewhat alleviates this issue as it allows Snorlax to take a lot less damage from Fire Blasts. Immunity is rather useless especially with Rest already negating status. Another dangerous threat to this team is Infernape. Infernape has enough speed to outspace your whole team and dispose of every member without any retaliation. Considering your team is also vulnerable to stall, a bulky Taunt Gyarados will be an excellent replacement instead of Zapdos. You retain that Lucario check but you also obtain a crucial Fire- type resist and Intimidate which allows you to check Infernape and Heatran. With Taunt, stall will be a lot less problematic as it prevents set-up. Go for: Waterfall | Taunt | DD | Earthquake / Stone Edge. 156 HP / 72 Atk / 96 Def / 184 Spe as an EV spread, Leftovers and an Adamant nature.

As for minor changes, consider using Fire Punch instead of Crunch on Snorlax as it allows you to deal respectable damage to Skarmory, Forretress, Metagross and Scizor and still hits Ghost- types as well. Scizor is already Pursuiting Ghost- types and they will probably be already eliminated before you attempt a late game sweep. Fire Punch has much more utility in this case in my opinion.

The changes in short are: LO Shaymin instead of Roserade, Gyarados over Zapdos, MixPert and Fire Punch over Crunch on Snorlax. Good luck with your team!
