new Weezer's out, and it's really good, feels like the older stuff in a way. Very fun to listen to, beats the Red Album and Make Believe for certain.

Envy on the Coast's Lowcountry is pretty massive. Enjoying it alot so far but I'm only half way through. I also gave Teenage Fantasy by Secret and Whisper a listen and it was pretty good, the guy's got a killer voice but the music itself ran a little long.

Up next is Robyn's Body Talk (1 & 2), and then Devil Sold His Soul's Blessed and Cursed

Edit:Just hit the second to last track on Lowcountry. Numb is godly.

The horse won't die, lets keep beating it.

OKAY I couldn't help but comment but a spinning camera + doing your own echoing backups + old gimmick...MAN this guy is selling out all over I see it now!

God damn I can't believe how this isn't a parody

So Rick Astley asked if he could borrow my pixar movies.

I said sure, I'll give you Finding Nemo, Cars, and Toy Story...

But I'm never gonna give you UP.

Listening to BoA's Hurricane Venus, because KPop is coooool and better than Western mainstream pop (bar Gaga). Cool so far, Adrenaline is kinda awesome. But Korean is weeeeird.

Posting to give thoughts on some 2010 albums I have.

Disturbed - Asylum: Generic average Disturbed album; offers nothing new bar their first instrumental. They need to get their shit into gear and make a good album for a change.

2 Times Terror - Equals One Sudden Death: Not really my kind of music but it's not bad tbqh. Need to give it a couple more listens before cementing a view on it.

Eisbrecher - Eiszeit: Another pretty good album from Eisbrecher, continuing with their sound and doing NDH justice.

Constantine - Shredcore: Never heard of this guy before since I stumbled upon this album whilst searching for something else, but it's pretty good. I kinda can't say no to fully instrumental guitar albums. I would say stuff about technical guitar stuff but I don't know anything about it so I won't.

Tarja - What Lies Beneath: Seems just like Nightwish but with 100% Tarja influence tbh. Which means it's very good. Quite different to her first two solo albums, and better imo.

hmm so one good review of new weezer. i am honestly expecting to be terrible (who isnt???) but i'd like to hear other peoples opinion on it.

""Hang On", co-written by Rick Nowels, features Canadian actor Michael Cera on backing vocals and Hurdy gurdy"
Hurdy Gurdy

But regardless I'll check it out. Apparently it's pretty good :/

Edit: So far today I've listened to the new Anberlin and Anathema albums, neither were anything amazing but I enjoyed them, I'm currently listening to Orbs and it's some seriously good shit. By which I mean it isn't shit at all.

But it is seriously good. I could make love to Adam Fisher's voice ahahaha.

Lined up for the rest of the day is BIG K.R.I.T.'s release, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream (Boy is she @0@), Tame Impala's Innerspeaker, Currency's Pilot Talk, the new Of Montreal offering and (Brace for sadface) Whitechapel's 'A New Era of Corruption' which I'm not expecting to enjoy, but have been pressured by friends into listening to ahahahaha.

Edit 2: Also, webcomic artist Patrick Alexander of Eegra.com wrote some music and I guess assembled an album about it? It's really bubbly 8-bit stuff, alot better than I expected it to be so far.

Edit 3: Of Montreal is pretty great so far, I'd heard some of their stuff before and eh, some of it was awesome but I wasn't entirely sold. Perhaps I should look back past this year for once. u__________u (Edit in edit: Yeah, super awesome)

'A New Era of Corruption' which I'm not expecting to enjoy, but have been pressured by friends into listening to ahahahaha.
Always keep an open mind about listening to music. You may never guess what you may like :)
Although Im 100% certain ill hate the new whitechapel. Can't stand deathcore...

Well, no. I try to keep an open mind, but I really don't usually like Deathcore (Rare exceptions) and I'd listened to a bit of Whitechapel before and it just wasn't my thing.

On that note, I didn't really enjoy the album ahahaha.

Also, this list is probably laughable compared to Zoro's/Deschain's/Anyone who'll post a list but whatever

also for all you electronic/glitch/idm/trip-hop/chiptune fans, check out this jap Himuro Yoshiteru.

his new album Where Does Sound Come From? is fucking awesome.

so much fucking awesome music this year.

Tesseract and Tides of Man and I Am Abomination are my new finds so far today.

well, all the records ive been looking forward to for the latter half of the year have been totally boring so far (interpol, thermals, of montreal), so lets talk about good stuff people havent heard:

FIRST OFF this album is the bomb:

dance album of the year, calling it. forget lcd soundsystem, everyone go download this, srsly. illumination is like an amazing smorgasbord of all these different types of electronic music, from disco to glo-fi to funk and house and all kinds of stuff, all rolled up into this amazingly sexy, constantly varied package. neon indian meets saturday night fever?

i seriously cant recommend this enough. by drawing from alot of different styles, it solves the problem i have with dance albums, being that they're so repetitive. listening to illumination is a totally hypnotic experience, and every time im done i can pick out a different track where im like "i need to hear that again", but really this feels like a proper album, where i couldnt pick out a favourite track even if i had to.

srsly dont just look at this and be like "oh neat", go download it bitches you wont regret it

the title track from antony and the johnsons new ep thank you for your love is really beautiful, moving stuff. i can't get over how angelic that mans voice is. i want him to sing me to sleep every night :3

that james blake ep pitchfork BNM'd, also, is sounding better and better. i'm really making an effort to start getting into dubstep lately since listening to all these mediocre new albums from the bigger indie bands i know i like but whose best albums are probably behind them is really starting to grate on me. most everything i've looked forward to this year has dissapointed me :(

SO, are there any people here into dubstep or have good reccomendations for stuff thats come out this year (or, you know also not from this year)? i dont expect a whole lot since i know it's very much a british sound (i think i feel some kind of affiliation for it since it's from my native britannia), but any recommendations would be awesome. im looking at you, deschain :)

kanye's tracks are still looking solid.

still need to get the new walkmen album, also based off of a track by how to dress well i'm getting excited for that debut.

well dubstep "ralbums" aren't too common, the whole scene is really based around singles and shit like that.

i'll tell you what though, find Reso: Audio Z Presents Reso In Da Mix. it's one of his DJ sets and it's fucking fantastic.

also check out Dead Fader, posted about them earlier. so good.

got The Glitch Mob? not really dubstep, but it's awesome.

Highlights of 2010:

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (II)
The Chemical Brothers - Further
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
Hadouken - For The Masses
Netsky - Netsky
Pendulum - Immersion
The Qemists - Spirit In The System
Skream - Outside The Box

Almost put MGMT - Congratulations on there, has some classics a real grower, but perhaps not quite on the same level.
