Hi smogen, this is my first time posting so i appoligze for any sloppiness/unclearness and my bad spelling. This is a UU4th Gen team I threw together and wanted any suggestions anybody might have to help me make it better.
Every team needs a lead so and the lead I choose Nidoking because it has the ability to setup stealth rock and toxic spikes.
Nidoking-Jolly Nature, Posion Point
Focus Sash, 255Attack, 255 Speed
Stealth Rock,Toxic Spikes, Earthquake, Focus Punch
SR and TS are there for obivous reasons, Earthquake provides powerful stab, and Focus Punch is devestating if predicted correctly.
Next I wanted two good walls, and choose steelix and lanturn. Toxic Spikes hugely benifits my team, especially my two walls, Lanturn and Steelix. With the many resistances/immunities my team carries the opponent takes stealth rock damage multipul times.
Steelix-Impish, Sturdy
Chesto Berry, 255HP, 255Special Defense
Earthquake, Gyro Ball, Curse, Rest
Earthquake and Gyro Ball provide obivous stab. Curse boosts stats amd Gyro Balls power and Rest is the only recovery Steelix has. He covers many weaknesses off my team, and soaks up most physical attacks, and the ones he doesn't (Fire, Ground, and Fighting)
can be absorbed by Archanine and Drifblim.
Lanturn-Calm, Volt Absorb
Leftovers, 255Defense, 255Special Defense
Charge Beam, Stockpile, Rest, Sleep Talk
A spin-off rest-talk Suicune with better (in my opinion) typing. Works well with Steelx and my next pokemon. Provides my team with the Eletric, Water, and Fire resistances it needs.
I quickly noticed that I had a very nasty ground weakness, but the next two pokemon take care of that.
Leafeon-Jolly, Leaf Guard
Life Orb, 255Speed, 115HP, 140Attack
Return, Leaf Blade, Swords Dance, Synthesis
Leafeon's bulkiness and good attack means it a good counter to ground types, and has wonderful type coverage. Can switch into any physical Ground attack, and my only reliable Dugtrio counter. Synthesis and the HP EV's can help with repeated beatings, while Toxic Spikes weares away at the opponent.
Drifblim-Mild, Aftermath
Choice Scarf, 255Special Attack, 255Speed
Explosion, THunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Trick
My Trick Sarf-loom. Trick can screw over many pokemon and can buy my team the time it needs to setup. Drifblim is also a good spin blocker, and then can burden the opponent with a choice item. Explosion can stop a pokemon I have trouble countering.
Finally I wanted a strong mixed sweeper who could hit hard and suprise my opponent, so I setteled with Archanine
Archanine-Rash, Flash Fire
Salc Berry, 200Special Attack, 180Speed, 130Attack
Reversal, Flamethrower, Hidden Power Ground, Substute
I heve never seen a Archanine like this, if somebody has already made one like this, I deeply apologise. Come in on a Flash Fire boost, set up a sub and begin to sweep. Reversal is bound to take some people by suprise.
So that is my team. Sorry about how messy it is, I am new at smogen. Tell me any optional changes/suggestions. Sorry about the shortness of the descriptions and bad spelling, I wanted to get this up as fast as possiable.
