The Horrifically Bad Movie Challenge + Discussion

Took doom's suggestion and ran with it, #hands is now up and ready for business.

I've edited the OP and thread title as the thread is now more discussion based, but as long as nobody objects I'm going to still make "official" challenges every week ;)

I dare anyone to watch the KOF live action film ("trailer") while keeping their will to live.

And I mean all the film, from beginning to end.

i feel like it'll be hard to find a movie we can ALL agreeably dislike, but!

agreeing with skarm, Troll 2 is so bad it's hilarious, that fucking mother man, HER CREEPY EYES

i watched billy madison last night, that movie might be my favorite adam sandler flick, get out of here thorns

i haven't seen this personally, but any wes craven fan and movie buff in general will tell you this movie is god awful, especially from this director. "The People Under The Stairs." gripping title, eh?

i really disliked "Step Brothers," i thought the humor was sooo recycled and overdone throughout most of the latest will ferrel movies, and it was just way too flamboyant in this movie for my taste

I am always tired. Don't bother me.
Can the Master of Disguise fall under the Horrifically Bad Movie category, because I'm quite sure it does.

Also: The old Super Mario Bros. Movie (it made my childhood dreams fall apart...)

Get the fu
ck out, this movie was awesome. Well done in so many regards, if anything I'd say it's one of the most unappreciated movies.

Oh god. I HATE that movie, it's so stupid. I remember other kids my age found it hilarious and I was just thinking wtf is wrong with all of them.

First of all, I've seen Freddy Got Fingered like 5 times, it's not all that hard to sit through. You're right though Hipmonlee, it's lazy low brow humor, it's not trying, the whole movie just doesn't give a fuck, you have to accept this before you watch it (or sometime within the first 5 minutes) if you want to have any hope of enjoying it.

Second, I don't think it's possible for movies that aren't comedy movies to actually be bad. Any action film or anything like that is just going to be met with laughs at how incredibly bad it is at being serious. Because there's nothing better than messing up a non-joke. On the other hand, a million trillion shitty jokes compacted into one and a half hours of plotless nonsense is god fucking awful. See the '____ movies' that Hipmonlee was referring to. (Miles worse than Freddy Got Fingered, really.) Meet the Spartans, Vampire movie, The 41 Year Old Virgin who Knocked up etc.

Fucking awful.

Agree with Not Scicky

I can't believe I actually sat through Date Movie, what a sack of shit that was
Augh, fuck that shit.
Disastor Movie was unfunny too.
The only thing I found remotely funny was Scary Movie 3, and now that I look back, it wasn't funny at all.

I watched the movie after it was featured on Tosh.0
I absolutely hate Tosh, he never uses original material, he only recycles old crap and some old decent stuff and then he gets all the credit for discovering it. If TipToes appeared in the first Tosh.Shit episode, he was still 6 years late. And one episode I somehow sat through featured only videos that I have already seen on other TV shows like America's Funniest Videos and The Smoking Gun

Agreeing with Not Scicky and everyone else, Meet the Spartans was a horrid movie. Also adding to my list: House of Flying Daggers and Babe

88% and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes
???
They also gave a few movies like The Social Network and Toy Story 3 higher ratings than King's Speech, but King's Speech still won the Oscar. Which means that Rotten Tomatoes doesn't mean everything. They gave Black Swan 88% which is an awful job on their part, and they gave Surf Ninjas 8% so I'm beginning to think that they just might all be pricks. And unless you think that every movie in the following list is one of the best movies ever made, you can't always go off of the opinion of Rotten Tomatoes

I actually I would argue that Rotten Tomatoes holds infinitely more weight than the Oscars, whereas Rotten Tomatoes is actually based on community consensus, the Oscars basically boils down to which studio can run the best publicity campaign and which film's theme is "Oscar-appropriate"

But I digress, my point is that there is no way you can put House of Flying Daggers and Babe on the same list as Meet the Spartans

I don't hold Rotten Tomatoes to much esteem because I don't hold critics to much esteem. But calling those two awful movies?

Also, fuck the Oscars. The King's Speech was cliched as shit but it won because it was an actor driven movie.

Okay maybe they aren't as bad as Meet the Spartans, but they aren't good in my opinion. And further research has shown me that Rotten Tomatoes is generally shit. They gave Blood Diamond a measly 62% and they only gave A Beautiful Mind 78%. Meanwhile, Legally Blonde gets 68% and Seven Pounds 26%, that's just awful. (Those two should have opposite scores)
