Raikou (Analysis)

I know you are not quite done, but I think you need to expand a little more on the AC sections in the Choice and RestTalk sets, the comments are rather sparse. On that note, discuss the reasoning behind the EV spreads in the AC.

[SET COMMENTS]

With Substitute(spelling) in its moveset, Raikou attempts to set up multiple Calm Minds to amass a huge Special Attack stat. Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice together hit everything in the tier neutrally bar Lanturn, Magneton, Rotom-H, Rotom-F, and Shedinja.(period) while Aura Sphere is an alternative to allow Raikou to potentially beat walls like Chansey or Snorlax while still providing excellent coverage, with only Golurk being immune to its moves. The EVs provided allow Raikou's Substitutes to prevent Jolly Flygon's U-turn (not EQ) and Defensive Calm Mind Celebi from breaking Raikou's Substitutes after a single Calm Mind boost. Hidden Power Grass can be used as the coverage option if you fear Unaware Quagsire,(comma) which otherwise walls this set. It should be noted that a +6 Aura Sphere will never 2HKO a max Special Defense Chansey. (Nobody uses max SpD Chansey, and this isn't true anyway. With a Rash nature Raikou has around a 30% chance.)

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Raikou can use Air Balloon instead of Leftovers to obtain extra Calm Minds on Ground-types,(comma) but it suffers greatly in survivability should it do so. While Raikou can run other coverage moves,(comma) Hidden Power Ice is generally the preferred option for the wide coverage it provides.(period) as Chansey will wall even a +6 Raikou. An alternate 232 SpA / 24 SpD / 252 Spe spread can be used for a more offensive set,(remove comma) that can still take an uninvested base 100 95 BP move at +1 with the Substitute intact. [SET COMMENTS]

Raikou is able to gain amazing power or speed through the use of a Choice item. Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice provide Raikou with excellent coverage,(comma) while Volt Switch gives Raikou an effective move for scouting switches. A set using a Choice Scarf should run Aura Sphere to provide further coverage while still allowing Raikou the ability to outrun threats such as Choice Scarf Staraptor. On the other hand, the Choice Specs version should use Shadow Ball to allow Raikou to maintain its Speed while still hitting with excellent power. Regardless of the choice of moveset and item,(comma) Raikou functions(spelling) brilliantly as a late-game cleaner.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Choiced Raikou should rarely run anything other than what is listed in the moveset,(comma) but Signal Beam can be used in place of Aura Sphere or Shadow Ball to hit Celebi hard. Sleep Talk is also a possible option if one is concerned about switching Raikou into a sleep inducing move. The EV spread maximizes Raikou's Special Attack and Speed, there being little reason run anything else. A strong Fighting type Pokemon such as Heracross is recommended to threaten Chansey and Snorlax.

[SET]

move 4: Calm Mind / Roar

(remove all but one line of space)
[SET COMMENTS]
(new line)
Raikou has the ability to effectively use a RestTalk set,(comma) allowing it to beat the special walls that would otherwise stop Raikou cold, notably Chansey. Thunderbolt is the move of choice for this set for its generally strong coverage as well as being Raikou's most reliable STAB attack. The final slot depends on the role you expect Raikou to fulfill. If running Raikou on an offensive or balanced team,(comma) Calm Mind is the superior choice in order to be able to sweep the opposing team,(comma) while if running a stall team Roar is likely the superior option(spelling) for stall teams in order to accumulate entry hazard damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A combination Rest and Chesto Berry can be used for a quicker boosting option, which allows a coverage option to be used in place of Sleep Talk. This has the advantage of making Raikou less vulnerable to physical attackers. If Rest and Chesto Berry are used,(comma) Raikou still maintains the ability to beat Chansey but loses the ability to switch in as freely and absorb Electric- and Flying-type(dash after the type names) attacks aimed at your team. Pokemon that are able to threaten and remove Ground types are recommended to stop them from walling this set.

(remove all but one line of space)
[Other Options]

While Raikou does not have a particularly large movepool,(comma) there are several additional options it can use. Weather Ball is an excellent choice on a Hail team,(comma) as it acts as a stronger Ice Beam. Shadow Ball provides good neutral coverage as well as being a strong attack against Ghost- and Psychic-type(dash after the type names) Pokemon. Raikou is capable of setting up both Reflect and Light Screen,(comma) allowing it to ease setup for itself or a teammate. Extrasensory can potentially be used to hit Poison- and Fighting-types(dash after the type names) but has little utility outside of that. A Choiced Raikou can attempt to sweep by using Charge Beam, but it takes two boosts to begin to outdamage(spelling) Thunderbolt. Raikou can also support the team with Thunder Wave, although this job is usually best left to other team members due to Raikou's sub-par bulk.

(remove all but one line of space)
[Checks and Counters]

Despite Raikou's power,(comma) there are several checks and counters to him. Chansey is as good as it gets as far as Raikou counters(spelling) go. Insane special walling capacity, instant recovery, the ability to status Raikou,(comma) and the ability to break its Substitutes with Seismic Toss make Chansey a full stop to Raikou. Likewise, Snorlax is able to take boosted Aura Spheres with its excellent Special Defense and can OHKO or 2HKO in return with Earthquake or Return respectively. Defensive Ground-types make great checks to Raikou,(comma) as they can switch in on any of its moves bar and threaten a super effective(no dash) Earthquake in return, although they will still take heavy damage from Hidden Power Ice or Grass. Abomasnow is a decent check to Raikou with its resistance to Thunderbolt(spelling),(comma) as Hail hinders Raikou's sweeping capabilities. It must of course be very wary of Aura Sphere,(comma) which will OHKO Abomasnow with ease. Celebi resists(spelling) Raikou's STAB options and can take super effective(no dash) Shadow Balls and Hidden Powers easily. Additionally, it can boost alongside Raikou with Calm Mind or sap its health with Leech Seed, although Raikou can beat it with the rare Signal Beam. Raikou is also vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards,(comma) so layers of Spikes or Stealth(spelling) Rock severely limit its ability to switch in,(comma) while Toxic Spikes limits the time it has to sweep.

(remove all but one line of space)
[Dream World]

Raikou gains the excellent ability Volt Absorb from Dream World,(comma) allowing it to recover 25% of its health by switching into any Electric-type attack. This will generally be the preferred ability except on the Sub+CM set,(comma) which appreciates the ability to stall powerful moves out of their meager PP. Note that 4th Gen moves such as Aura Sphere and Sleep Talk are illegal with Volt Absorb.

Done. The content was generally pretty solid, but it would be a good idea to run your analyses through a spellchecker to catch the easy errors yourself. Also, looking at any other completed analysis would have shown you the proper spacing and capitalization. Basically, there were a lot of easy things you could have fixed on your own. I also think you could still expand on teammates a bit, especially in the first two sets. Once these things are cleared up though this will be a very solid analysis.

I am concerned that this analysis is a bit too succinct. Two paragraphs per set is a bit short, IMO. Try to find a way to expand some of your paragraphs a bit. You need more substance.

For example, for the Sub/CM set, explain what the EVs do! 128 HP / 76 Def / 52 SpA / 252 Spe would be confusing to your average-joe trying to pick up the set (Any spread apart from your typical 4/252/252 spreads need an explanation, even then, I still think 4/252/252 spreads should get a sentence just to acknowledge it). Explain that the bulk allows Raikou's Subs to survive Flygon's U-turn, Celebi's U-turn, etc. For some of the offensive sets, don't be afraid to put in damage calcs and stuff like that. This isn't the only thing you need to expand on, but it's a start.

We-el, I was attempting to get my point across without becoming too verbose as I can tend to pontificate if I let that run unchecked. Mainly I was attempting to conform to this:
Rising Dusk said:
There is an appropriate and an inappropriate length for analyses. They should not be too long and contain inordinate amounts of information, but at the same time they should not shirk entire chunks of valuable information just to be as short as possible. Generally, it is always easier for a user to write more, so we won't address that here. It's much more difficult to make a very long analysis more terse without sacrificing key information.
I think that I was more or less successful in keeping the analysis succint without sacrficing information.

All the same I can understand where your coming from and your concerns about missing information.

Therefore, after implementing Atheno's check I will ask that any GP team members not check this for the next 4-7 days to allow me time to further investigate any missing information in the analysis.

EDIT: Atheno's check implemented. Am I correct in assuming that by adding the further information this will now require a third check after the information is added?

The EVs for the SubCMer definitely need changing. No one uses Grass Knot anymore on Celebi (especially in UU), it's either Giga Drain or Psychic. Also, there's not much that Jolly Scarf Flygon needs to outspeed in this tier, so it's using Adamant.

I haven't quite figured out the optimal EVs yet, but I do know that 128 HP EVs with 2 Calm Minds makes Espeon break your subs 2.56% of the time (so basically never) and that 128/56 lets Raikou live 2 Adamant Reckless Scarf Brave Birds 2.96% of the time with SR and 1 turn of Leftovers. Haven't figured out if that's optimal enough because a lot of the UU analysis threads aren't up yet, but it's something to keep in mind.

ok, this is really trivial but definitely something to note:

every set should be shiny, regardless of nature. if you are running a non-shiny raikou, it is impossible for you to have event moves, which lets the opponent in on your strategy.

This is something I completely agree with but Smogon sets aren't solely for the PO metagame, plenty of people without PO access also use Smogon and as such it would be imprudent to stress the shiny issue in an analysis.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A combination Rest and Chesto Berry can be used for a quicker recovery option, and allows a coverage option to be used in place of Sleep Talk. This has the advantage of making Raikou less vulnerable to physical attackers. If Rest and Chesto Berry are used, Raikou still maintains the ability to beat Chansey but loses the ability to switch in as freely and absorb Electric- and Flying-type attacks aimed at your team. Pokemon that are able to threaten and remove Ground types are recommended to stop them from walling this set.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

While Raikou does not have a particularly large movepool, there are several additional options it can use. Weather Ball is an excellent choice on a Hail team, as it acts as a stronger Ice Beam. Shadow Ball provides good neutral coverage as well as being a strong attack against Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokemon. Raikou is capable of setting up both Reflect and Light Screen, allowing it to ease setup easily for itself or a teammate. Extrasensory can potentially be used to hit Poison- and Fighting-types but has little utility outside of that. A Choiced Raikou can attempt to sweep by using Charge Beam, but it takes two boosts to begin to outdamage hit harder than Thunderbolt. Raikou can also support the team with Thunder Wave, although this job is usually best left to other team members due to Raikou's sub-par bulk.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]

Despite Raikou's power, there are several checks and counters to him. Chansey is as good as it gets as far as Raikou counters go. Insane special walling capacity, instant recovery, the ability to status cripple Raikou with status, and the ability to break its Substitutes with Seismic Toss make Chansey a full stop to Raikou. Likewise, Snorlax is able to take boosted Aura Spheres with its excellent Special Defense and can OHKO or 2HKO in return with Earthquake or Return respectively. Defensive Ground-types make great checks to Raikou, as they can switch in on any of its moves and threaten Raikou with a super effective Earthquake in return, although they will still take heavy damage from Hidden Power Ice or Grass. Abomasnow is a decent check to Raikou with its resistance to Thunderbolt, as Hail hinders Raikou's sweeping capabilities. It must,(comma) of course,(comma) be very wary of Aura Sphere, which will OHKO Abomasnow with ease. Celebi resists Raikou's STAB options and can take super effective Shadow Balls and Hidden Powers easily. Additionally, it can boost alongside Raikou with Calm Mind or sap its health with Leech Seed, although Raikou can beat it with the rare Signal Beam. Raikou is also vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards, so multiple layers of Spikes or Stealth Rock severely limit its ability to switch in,(comma) while Toxic Spikes limits the time it has to sweep.

[Dream World]

Raikou gains the excellent ability Volt Absorb from Dream World, allowing it to recover 25% of its health by switching into any Electric-type attack. This will generally be the preferred ability except on the Sub+CM, set which appreciates the ability to stall powerful moves out of their meager PP. Note that 4th Gen Generation moves such as Aura Sphere and Sleep Talk are illegal with Volt Absorb.

very nice analysis! This was easier than the OU one, which was sort of a nightmare.

edit: just saw notice of no checking. well, i'm not official but sorry if this caused any problems.

Taking over Berserker Lord

GP Checks: 2/2

[OVERVIEW]

While Mismagius may not have changed very much in the transition to BW UU, the metagame sure has, and Mismagius takes advantage of it. Its base 105 Speed is an amazing asset, and it allows Mismagius to outspeed many dangerous threats such as Victini, Zapdos, Mew, and Celebi. Mismagius also carries two amazing boosting moves: Nasty Plot and Calm Mind, and is also one of the only Ghost-types with access to Taunt, which, when combined with Will-O-Wisp and Levitate, make Mismagius an excellent stallbreaker and spinblocker. On the underhand side of things, Mismagius's mediocre HP and Defense stats undermine its above-average Special Defense, and makes it quite easy to revenge kill, especially by physically based Scarf users. Despite all this, Mismagius makes for a great Ghost-type, being able to fill many roles in almost any team.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Hidden Power Fighting / Thunderbolt
move 4: Substitute / Taunt
item: Leftovers / Life Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 Hp / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

After a Nasty Plot, Mismagius reaches 618 Special Attack. This, when combined with great Speed, typing, and a fantastic ability make Mismagius a ferocious sweeper. Shadow Ball is Mismagius's primary STAB attack, and it offers great coverage in UU, hitting the common Ghost- and Psychic-types super effectively. Hidden Power Fighting offers prefect neutral coverage alongside Shadow Ball, hitting many resists of Shadow Ball super effectively. Thunderbolt could be used instead to get better coverage on Flying-types and Milotic, but it also loses the 2HKO on Chansey at +6. The last slot is really decided by what item you choose to use with Mismagius. Substitute works best with Leftovers, allowing Mismagius to easily set up on Chansey, dodge Sucker Punch, and foil potential revenge killers. Taunt works well with Life Orb, also allowing Mismagius to set up on Chansey while stopping any other potential status users that Mismagius can't outright OHKO.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread is as simple as could be: max Speed allows Mismagius to outspeed positive-natured base 100s and max Special Attack is to give it as much bite as possible. A Modest nature is completely inadvisable due to the probability of being outsped by a bounty of dangerous threats. Psychic can be used if you want to destroy Roserade, but it has literally no use outside of that.

This set appreciates entry hazards support, especially if it happens to run Leftovers. Donphan is a great option to set up Stealth Rock, and it can hit back hard with base 120 Attack. Having extremely powerful set up Pokemon or Choice users is also a good choice, as they can wear down the opposing team for Mismagius to finish off. Honchkrow, Nast Plot Azelf, Choice Band Escavalier, Choice Specs Rotom-H, and Porygon-Z are just some examples.

Snorlax is one of the best counters to this set, taking even a +2 Life Orb Hidden Power Fighting and KOing back with Crunch. Specially defensive Roserade can easily take on Leftovers Mismagius, having the bulk to take a +2 Shadow Ball, and either use Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, or simply attack if Mismagius tries to set up a Substitute. Hitmontop handles Snorlax without breaking a sweat thanks to Intimidate and Fighting-type STAB. Roserade can be taken care of with a RestTalk Heracross set with Life Orb, and Heracross also gets the bonus of becoming extremely powerful due to Guts if it is sleeping. If Mismagius isn't running Substitute, Sucker Punch and Pursuit users can find a place to switch in and trap Mismagius.

move 2: Calm Mind
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Hidden Power Fighting

[SET COMMENTS]

Thanks to a great typing and an ability that gives it a total of 3 immunities, Mismagius can easily switch into a lot of Pokemon and set up a Substitute to block any kind of status move the opponent decides to throw at it. After getting a Substitute, Mismagius can freely set up Calm Minds until it is ready to sweep. With this set, Mismagius can set up on those Pokemon that have the potential to cripple every other of its sets without difficulty, such as Chansey, Clefable, and Registeel when lacking Iron Head. Shadow Ball is the best STAB attack Mismagius can use, and in combination with Hidden Power Fighting, Mismagius gets perfect offensive type coverage, hitting every single Pokemon for at least neutral damage. It is also important to note that +6 Hidden Power Fighting 2HKOes Chansey, Mismagius's worst nightmare.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The given EV spread ensures that a 0 SpA Celebi's Psychic will never break Mismagius's Substitute with a Calm Mind up. Of course, there are many other EV spreads possible, but 48 HP EVs should always be used as a minimum to let Mismagius use Substitute 5 times factoring in Leftovers. Thunderbolt can be considered an option over Hidden Power Fighting to hit Flying and Water-types for super effective damage, but Hidden Power Fighting has more utility on this set since Thunderbolt can't 2HKO Chansey, even at +6. Although this set is very useful against most walls, it still struggles against Snorlax, which can come in on a Calm Mind, take a Hidden Power Fighting and break the Substitute, leaving it vulnerable to being revenge killed.

[SET]

move 1: Taunt
move 2: Will-O-Wisp
move 3: Pain Split
move 4: Shadow Ball
item: Leftovers
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With access to Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Levitate, and a great Ghost typing, Mismagius makes for a great stallbreaker and also works well as a spinblocker. Taunt offers a lot of utility, stopping status moves from hitting Mismagius, halting the opponents attempt to set up entry hazards, and stopping opposing walls from using a recovery move. Will-O-Wisp works amazingly well with Taunt, wasting away the opponent's HP and allowing Mismagius to offer team support by burning physical sweepers. Pain Split, while being very unreliable recovery, is recovery nonetheless, and it helps with killing off Chansey quickly. Shadow Ball is for stopping Mismagius from becoming complete Taunt bait, and it hits the many Psychic- and Ghost-types that roam the tier.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs are simple: max HP gives Mismagius some much-needed bulk, while Speed is also maximized to outspeed positive-natured base 100s and beat opposing Mismagius that run Hidden Power Fighting, and tie with those that don't. Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Fighting can be used over Pain Split if you really need a way of hitting Ghost resists, but losing recovery is a bad idea.

Due to the combination of Taunt and Will-O-Wisp forcing a large amount of switches, entry hazards are incredibly helpful to stack up the damage. Mismagius also stops those entry hazards from being spun away, so it's even better. Empoleon can set up Stealth Rock and can switch in on all of Mismagius's weaknesses, while Mismagius can do the same for Empoleon in return with the exception of Electric. Roserade is also another great partner, being able to set up Spikes and having the Special Defense to switch in on the majority of the Ghost and Dark-type moves that Mismagius attracts.

Specially defensive Roserade is one of the best counters to Mismagius, taking next to nothing from Shadow Ball, and having Natural Cure to take care of Will-O-Wisp. Cobalion is a dangerous threat to Mismagius, being able to outspeed and Taunt Mismagius to render her useless while setting up with Swords Dance or Calm Mind. Nidoqueen can easily handle Cobalion, able to take any attack it throws at her and hit back with a super effective STAB Earth Power. Registeel can handle Roserade with ease, especially if Mismagius uses Taunt prior to Registeel switching in to neutralize the threat of Sleep Powder. Although they must be wary of switching in on Will-O-Wisp, faster Pursuit users can easily put Mismagius into a checkmate position. Houndoom in particular is the worst Pursuit user for Mismagius because of Flash Fire, which makes Will-O-Wisp useless.

[Other Options]

A Choice set can be utilized with either Choice Scarf or Specs to revenge kill or hit hard, and Mismagius has access to Trick to ruin walls and counters. Destiny Bond can be used with Mismagius's great Speed, but finding a moveslot for it is extremely hard. Thunder Wave can be used with Will-O-Wisp to form a Double Status set, but Mismagius often has better things to do. Energy Ball can be used if you really want to screw over Quagsire and Gastrodon, but has no use outside of that. Hex can be used over Shadow Ball in the Support set due to having a greater Base Power than Shadow Ball after using Will-O-Wisp on your opponent.

[Checks and Counters]

Snorlax is the best counter to Mismagius, shrugging off everything but a +2 Life Orb-boosted Hidden Power Fighting or Will-O-Wisp and KOing with Crunch or Pursuit. Specially defensive Roserade is also a huge pest to Mismagius, stalling out the Nasty Plot set while also taking on the support set reasonably well. Weavile also threatens Mismagius, as it outspeeds it and has both Pursuit and Night Slash to trap and revenge kill Mismagus, respectively. Mismagius is also threatened by physical Choice Scarf users which can easily revenge kill it when it's not behind a Substitute.

[Overview]

Raikou is a dominating presence in UU due to itsUU. Its huge base 115 Speed and Special Attack stats, whichstats allow it to outspeed most of UUthe tier and hit extremely hard after setting up a single Calm Mind. It also has access to three useful event moves: Aura Sphere, Weather Ball, and ExtremeSpeed, which, along with its greater bulk, often make it superior to its Electric-type counterparts. It is notable, essential to note, however, that using the event moves forces Raikou to have a Rash nature and to be shiny in accordance with its real-world release. Luckily, even with a Rash nature, Raikou still manages to hit 329 speed, allowing it to outspeed unboosted base 100's.100s.

[SET COMMENTS]

Offensive Calm Mind Raikou sacrifices longevity for the ability to hit hard and fast. By using Calm Mind on a switching opponent, Raikou gains huge power and reasonable bulk to go along with its excellent speed. Thunderbolt provides Raikou with a powerful and reliable STAB option, move, while Aura Sphere is a strong secondary attacking option with good complementary coverage, especially against special walls such as Chansey, Snorlax, and Regice. The Hidden Power of choice covers specific individual threats: Hidden Power Ice will OHKO FlygonFlygon, while Hidden Power Grass will OHKO Gastrodon and Quagsire, the latter of which ignores Raikou's boosts with its ability, Unaware. Life Orb is chosen over Leftovers for the additional power it brings, while a Rash nature is necessary to use Aura Sphere.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Maximum Special Attack and Speed are used to ensure optimum offensive ability. Although Rash is preferable in most cases Rash is preferable, cases, a Timid nature can be used to allow Raikou to hit its maximum speed. Note that inIn this case, Shadow Ball or Extrasensory must be used to maintain legality while still providing strong coverage. Maximum Special Attack and Speed are used to ensure optimum offensive ability. Signal Beam is an option in place of Hidden Power for its ability to OHKO all Celebi after a single Calm Mind, while also hitting the many GrassGrass- and Dark typesDark-types in the tier. Wobbuffett and Dugtrio are notable partners for this set for their ability to trap and remove the special walls that plague Raikou's sweeping capabilities. Any strongability. [SET COMMENTS]

With Substitute in its moveset, Raikou can attempt to set up multiple Calm Minds to amass a huge Special Attack stat. Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice together are used to hit everything in the tier neutrally bar Lanturn, Magneton, Rotom-H, Rotom-F and Shedinja. Aura Sphere is an alternative to allow Raikou to potentially beat walls likesuch as Chansey or SnorlaxSnorlax, while still providing excellent coverage. [ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Raikou can use Air Balloon instead of Leftovers to obtain extra Calm Mind boosts on Ground-types, but it suffers greatly in survivability should it do so. While Raikou can run other coverage moves, Hidden Power Ice is generally the preferred option for the wide coverage it provides. [SET COMMENTS]

Raikou is able to gain gains amazing power or speed through the use ofwith a Choice item. Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice provide Raikou with excellent coverage, while Volt Switch gives Raikouit an effective move for scouting switches. A Choice Scarf set should run Aura Sphere to provide further coverage while still allowinggiving Raikou the ability to outrun threats such as Choice Scarf Staraptor. On the other hand, the Choice Specs version should use Shadow Ball and a Timid nature to allow Raikou to maintain its Speed while still hitting with excellent power. Regardless of the choice of moveset and item, Raikou functions brilliantly as a late-game cleaner.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Choiced choiced Raikou should rarely run anything other than what is listed, but Signal Beam can be used in place of Aura Sphere or Shadow Ball to hit Celebi hard. Sleep Talk is also a possible option if you are concerned about switching Raikou into a sleep inducingsleep-inducing move. [Set Comments]

Raikou has the ability to effectively use a RestTalk set,set effectively, allowing it to beat the special walls that would otherwise stop Raikou cold, notablycold—notably, Chansey. Thunderbolt is the move of choice for this set for its generally strong coveragecoverage, as well as for being Raikou's most reliable STAB attack. The final slot depends on the role you expect Raikou to fulfill. If running Raikou on an offensive or balanced team, Calm Mind is the superior choice in order to be able to sweep the opposing team, while Roar is likely the superior option for stall teams in order to accumulate entry hazard damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A combination of Rest and Chesto Berry can be used for a quicker recovery option, and allows a coverage optionmove to be used in place of Sleep Talk. This has the advantage of making Raikou less vulnerable to set-up physical attackers. If Rest and Chesto Berry are used, Raikou can still maintains the ability to beat ChanseyChansey, but loses the ability tocan no longer switch in as freely and absorb Electric- and Flying-type attacks aimed at your team. Pokemon that are able to threaten and remove Ground typesGround-types are recommended to stop them from walling this set. The EV spread allowsgives Raikou's Substitute'sSubstitutes the greatest chance of surviving various attacks by maximizing HPHP, while also ensuring the ability to set up quickly by maximizing Speed.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

While Raikou does not have a particularly large movepool, there are several additional options it can use. Weather Ball is an excellent choice on a Hail team, as it acts as a stronger Ice Beam. Shadow Ball provides good neutral coverage as well as beingcoverage, and is a strong attack against Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokemon. Raikou is capable of setting up both Reflect and Light Screen, allowing it to setup easilyset up for itself or a teammate. Extrasensory can be used to hit Poison- and Fighting-typesFighting-types, but has little utility outside of that. A Choicedchoiced Raikou can attempt to sweep by using Charge Beam, but it takes two boosts to begin to hit harder than Thunderbolt. Raikou can also support the team with Thunder Wave, althoughbut due to Raikou's sub-par bulk, this job is usually best left to other team members due to Raikou's sub-par bulk.members.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]

Despite Raikou's power, there are several checks and counters to him. Chanseyit. Chansey, for instance, is as good as it gets as far as Raikou counters go.gets. Insane special walling capacity, instant recovery, the ability to cripple Raikou with status, and the ability to break its Substitutes with Seismic Toss make Chansey a full stop to Raikou. Likewise, Snorlax is able to take boosted Aura Spheres with its excellent Special DefenseDefense, and can OHKO or 2HKO in return with Earthquake or ReturnReturn, respectively. Defensive Ground-types make great checks to Raikou, as they can switch in on any of its moves and threaten Raikouit with a super effective Earthquake in return, although they will still take heavy damage from Hidden Power Ice or Grass. Abomasnow is a decent check to Raikou with its resistance to Thunderbolt, as Hail hinderswill shorten Raikou's sweeping capabilities.capability. It must, of course, be very wary of Aura Sphere, which will OHKO Abomasnow with ease. Celebi resists Raikou's STAB options and can take super effective Shadow Balls and Hidden Powers easily. Additionally, it can boost alongside Raikou with Calm Mind or sap its health with Leech Seed, although Raikou can beat it with the rare Signal Beam. Raikou is also vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards, so Stealth Rock or multiple layers of Spikes or Stealth Rock severely limit its ability to switch, inswitch in, while Toxic Spikes limits the time it has to sweep.

[Dream World]

Raikou gains the excellent ability Volt Absorb from Dream World, allowing it to recover 25% of its health by switching into any Electric-type attack. This will generally be the preferred ability except on the Sub+CM, setSub+CM set, which appreciates the ability to stall powerful moves out of their meager PP. Note that 4th Generation movesmoves, such as Aura Sphere and Sleep TalkTalk, are illegal with Volt Absorb.

As far as spacing goes, make sure there's one line break after the [Set] tag, and two line breaks (one empty line) after the other tags.

[SET COMMENTS]

With Substitute in its moveset, Raikou can attempt to set up multiple Calm Minds to amass a huge Special Attack stat. Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice together hit everything in the tier neutrally bar Lanturn, Magneton, Rotom-H, Rotom-F and Shedinja. Aura Sphere is an alternative to allow Raikou to potentially beat walls such as Chansey or Snorlax, while still providing excellent coverage. The EVs prevent Defensive Calm Mind Celebi from breaking Raikou's Substitutes after one Calm Mind boost; after two, Espeon's Psychic's will only rarely break a Substitute. Further, the above EV's prevent Jolly Flygon from breaking Raikou's Substitute with U-Turn, and allow Raikou to survive two Adamant Choice Scarf Brave Birds from Staraptor 59% of the time when switching into Stealth Rock most of the time. Hidden Power Grass can be used as the coverage option if you fear Unaware Quagsire, who otherwise completely walls this set.

An alternate spread of 232 SpA / 24 SpD / 252 Spe can be used for a more offensive set; with this, Raikou can still take a 95 BP move from an uninvested base 100 Special Attack stat at +1 with a Substitute intact such as a Slowbro's Surf. Wobbuffett and Dugtrio are notable partners for their ability to remove the special walls that ocan stop Raikou's sweep.

You don't need to say 'most of the time' again since you already say that it will survive 59% of the time. Also remove an 'o'.
