Arena: IMAGINATION!

A grassy park with a pond in the middle. Pokemon cannot use any moves at all. Instead, before each round begins, several random objects will appear (the ref decides how many, what they are and their effects - they can be literally anything so go nuts) and pokemon must use these objects to do anything.

I want to test my creativity here, and use a few of my weaker Pokémon.
Son ofShadoo, your wish is my comand. May the battle begin!!

So, now that we know what pokemon are being used today, let's wait and see what objects appear. It looks like two fire flowers are emerging from the grassy ground. Those will be useful to whoever can get them. But now some objects are falling from the sky. A pair of pugil sticks land in the arena near the fire flowers, followed by a big flaming rock. This rock breaks apart upon hitting the ground, leaving behind five flaming rocks. Finally, something rises up from the pond in the middle of the park. It's a large cauldron and it's got some kind of potion in it, but I'm not sure what kind. I wonder what pokemon are going to be taking advantage of these items.

Objects on the ground

Notes:
  • All objects are usable by all pokemon with roughly equal capability.
  • Picking up an object always takes an action and costs 3 energy.
    • Sometimes you can pick up two of an object in one action. This costs 6 energy.
    • An object that has been picked up can be dropped. This takes an action but has no energy cost.
  • Throwing an object, swinging an object, equipping an object or using an object in any way also takes an action unless specified otherwise. The energy cost varies between items.
    • Unless specified otherwise, an item needs to be picked up before it can be used (unless of course it can't be picked up).
  • Giving an object to an ally takes an action and costs 3 energy.
  • A pokemon may only hold up to two objects at once.
    • Some objects are listed as requiring two hands, meaning that a pokemon cannot pick them up unless it is holding no other objects at all.
    • Equipped objects do not count as being held. A pokemon can only equip one object at a time.
  • Objects that do typed damage do not get a STAB bonus unless specified otherwise.

Fire Flower x 2
  • Requires two hands
  • Can be picked up
  • Can be used to shoot a fireball for 6 energy
  • Shooting a fireball counts as an 8 BP special fire-type attack with 10% chance of 1st degree burn
  • Base accuracy is 100 - (target's speed - user's speed)
  • Once used three times, the fire flower disintegrates

Pugil stick x 2
  • Requires two hands
  • Can be picked up
  • Can be swung for 6 energy
  • Swinging is treated as an 8 BP physical typeless attack
  • Base accuracy is 100

Flaming rock x 5
  • Up to two can be picked up in one action
  • Can be thrown for 5 energy
  • Throwing counts as a 4 BP physical rock-type attack and a 4 BP physical fire-type attack with 10% chance of 1st degree burn
    • After being thrown, the rock breaks on contact with anything
  • Base accuracy is 100 - (target's speed - thrower's speed)
  • At the end of every action (including the action it is picked up on), holder has a 10% chance of getting a 1st degree burn

Cauldron x 1
  • Cannot be picked up
  • Can be tipped over for 8 energy
  • Tipping the cauldron counts as a 12 BP special attack of whatever type the tipper is
    • If the tipper is dual typed, it counts as 6 BP of each type
  • Base accuracy is 75 - ((target's speed - tipper's speed)/2)

Son_of_Shadoo must now send out his first two pokemon. Then Puffins R Cool will send out his first two pokemon and give orders. Then Son_of_Shadoo will give orders. Then I ref.

Alright, Charcoal and Pika, let's rock!

Let's see.... Pika, pick up 2 flaming rocks, throw one of them, then throw the other.

Charcoal, stand near the cauldron, tip it over, then grab a Pugil stick.

Pika: Get 2 rocks --> Throw one rock -->Throw other rock
Char:Stand near cauldron--> Tip over cauldron -->Grab Pugil Stick
Man, this will be different.

Don't be dissing my Elphie cause she's green, yo.

Elphaba, knock over that cauldron onto the approaching Embirch, as I'm pretty sure it won't take two actions. Then grab the other pugil stick, and bash him with it!

Tip cauldron (Embirch) >>> Grab pugil stick >>> Bash Embirch with it

Glinda, just pick up a Fire Flower, and take a few potshots.

Pick up Fire Flower >>> Shoot Embirch >>> Shoot Pichu

And so the battle begins: Elphaba the Bagon and Glinda the Happiny face Charcoal the Embirch and Pika the Pichu. Pika is quick off the mark and picks up two flaming rocks while Charcoal runs up to the cauldron. However, a smarter pokemon reaches the cauldron too: Elphaba the Bagon. She tips the cauldron over, pouring the mysterious potion inside it all over Charcoal. It seems to be imbued with a dragon-like essence. As soon as the potion is all gone, though, the cauldron fades out of existence. Elsewhere, Glinda waddles over to the fire flowers and plucks one of the fire flowers from the ground. Now the stage is set.

Pika throws a flaming rock at Elphaba, hitting her on the head. While the rock itself doesn't appear to be too damaging, the flames have given her a nasty burn on the head. Furious, Elphaba rushes towards the pugil sticks and picks one of the pugil sticks up, ready to battle like a gladiator! Glinda shoots a fireball from her fire flower at a bewildered Charcoal, who is somehow trying to tip a cauldron that's not there. However, her aim is a tad off and she only sends the fireball bouncing off into the distance.

Pika's other hand is getting hot so he throws the other flaming rock at Elphaba, this time striking her much harder than before. Charcoal goes to grab the other pugil stick but as soon as he picks it up, Elphaba whacks him on the head with her one. It looks like we might have a duel on our hands here! Finally, Glinda fires another fireball from her fire flower, this time hitting Pika on the tail.

As the four pokemon take a breather, some more objects appear in the park. Firstly, a hard hat flies in from the edge of the arena. Perhaps it might offer protection against attacks. Then two Grabbo arms fall from the sky and land not far from where the pugil sticks were. Finally, there is another disturbance in the pond as five water balloons jump out and land along the edge of the pond, somehow remaining intact.

OK Son_of_Shadoo, you're up.

Mmk. That went pretty well, except for the whole burning thing, and Glinda missing.

Elphie, I want you to hit Charcoal again, but this time, do you best to knock him away from any items, or into Pichu. Then bash Pichu as well. Finish by dropping the pugil stick, I want to gamble on our next set of items...

Bash Embirch >>> Bash Pichu >>> Drop Pugil Stick

Glinda, shoot Embirch, and make sure you hit this time! Then get your hands on a water balloon, and throw it at Embirch!

Shoot Embirch >>> Grab Water Balloon x2 >>> Throw x1 at Embirch

Charcoal, hit Elphaba 3 times with thevstick your holding, charging if needed. Pika, get the other flower, and hit Glenda 2 times.

Replace any action if pushed with: Charge Elphaba

Now that Elphaba and Charcoal are both armed with pugil sticks, they seem intent on having a duel. If only John Anderson were here to see this. The two pokemon bash each other with their pugil sticks and, despite the burn, Elphaba seems to perform better. Pika goes and grabs the remaining fire flower to provide backup while Glinda uses her fire flower to shoot a fireball at Charcoal. The fireball hits but Glinda's fire flower has no more strength left and disintegrates, leaving her empty-handed.

Charcoal continues the pugil stick assault on Elphaba, but the Bagon switches targets to Pika and whacks him with her pugil stick instead. This doesn't stop Pika from shooting a fireball at Glinda. His swiftness helps ensure that the fireball hits the Happiny while she picks up two water balloons. With a glint in her eye, she prepares to throw them.

Pika shoots another fireball, hitting Glinda again but not popping any of the water balloons. Charcoal, once again, opts for pugil stick pummelling on Elphaba, but curiously Elphaba puts her pugil stick on the ground. Is she sensing something that the rest of the pokemon are not? Or maybe she has faith in her ally Glinda. If so, that faith was misplaced as Glinda throws a water balloon but misses her target completely. The balloon bursts upon hitting the ground.

And once again, some items appear. The first one falls out of the sky. It's a painting ... OH GOD IT'S HORRIBLE! That's sure to give nightmares to anyone who looks at it! Another item falls out of the sky. This one's a stereo, but it doesn't appear to be playing any music yet. Maybe it'll play some once a pokemon switches it on. Finally, something else rises up out of the pond. This time, it's a cannon. Maybe this will help make the flaming rocks and water balloons a bit more useful.

The four pokemon are starting to show signs of exhaustion but they keep on fighting for their trainers. Pika shoots the fire flower one last time, hitting Elphaba with a fiery ball. Charcoal follows this up with another pugil stick bash to Elphaba's head. The Bagon, realising she is completely unarmed, goes and grabs a water balloon while Glinda throws her second water balloon but once again misses.

The water balloons have become quite popular it seems, with Pika picking one of them up too. Charcoal once again bashes his pugil stick on Elphaba, but this proves to be quite a chore for him now. Elphaba sees the cannon and inserts her water balloon, ready to fire at will. Glinda, now with her hands free, picks up the horrible painting. She must be trying to give nightmares to her opponents.

All of a sudden, the painting comes alive! With a deep growl it says "COME ON IN HEEEEEERE!" Pika was planning to fire the cannon but has come down with a severe case of the jibblies! Charcoal, however, wasn't planning on attacking, so he remains somewhat unperturbed. But that all changes when he turns on the stereo and this starts playing. Suddenly, everyone is glaring angrily at Charcoal. I think they're all going to want to beat the living daylights out of him now. Elphaba seizes the initiative and fires the cannon at Charcoal, while Glinda would be beating him up if not for the painting she is holding.

This time, no new objects appear. Maybe the music is putting them off?

Panicking, Charcoal tries changing the music to something nicer. Does he succeed? Well ... not really. Instead, it just gives Elphaba the urge to pick up the pugil stick that's lying on the ground while Pika picks up the hard hat. Glinda just stands there and holds the painting, which doesn't appear to be doing anything ...

... until now. Once again, it growls "COME ON IN HEEEEEERE!" and, while Pika is busy equipping the hard hat, Charcoal has come down with the jibblies and can't do anything to Glinda, who just holds the painting again as Elphaba brings the pugil stick down on Charcoal's head.

Sick of this, Charcoal runs up to the painting and slams his pugil stick to try knocking it out of Glinda's hands. It doesn't work but Glinda does take damage from the pugil stick. But Elphaba smashes her pugil stick on Charcoal moments later as Pika tries to fire the cannon but accomplishes nothing because he forgot to put some ammo in it.

As the round ends, having gone from one awful song to another awful song, some items appear. On one of the trees, a juicy apple grows and falls onto the ground. Two cups of coffeeccino also appear on the ground. Ah yes, the blend of cappuccino and coffee. Then, in classic cartoon fashion, an anvil falls from the sky and nearly crushes Elphaba. Finally, another item falls from the sky: a spyglass that might help a pokemon to reveal the secrets of some of these items.

The next round begins with the horrible painting growling "COME ON IN HEEEEEERE!", but only Charcoal gets frightened by this. Pika is too busy working out how it can pick up an anvil while it has a water balloon in one hand. Glinda continues holding the painting while Elphaba brings her pugil stick down on Charcoal. Not much to report then.

As Pika continues wondering how the heck it's supposed to execute its trainer's orders, Charcoal slams his pugil stick on Glinda, but doesn't knock the painting out of her hands. However, he too is hit by a pugil stick and this brings Charcoal to his knees.

Finally, Elphaba drops her pugil stick while Pika grabs the last water balloon. The burn and the exhaustion will soon catch up with the Bagon, but will Pika be able to do something worthwhile in the next round?

As the remaining pokemon pause for a moment and wait for some more items to appear, what they get instead are some character appearances. Firstly, Wolf and Hunter enter from the side and spot the two pugil sticks lying on the ground. They each pick one up and go back to where they came from, probably to have a duel of their own for old times' sake. Next, there is an appearance by Homsar. The horrible painting reacts to him with a "COME ON IN HEEEEEERE!", but Homsar doesn't get scared. Instead, he just says in his weird voice "I'm a touchy feely-holic!" and this scares the horrible painting so much that it hops out of Glinda's hands and slinks away saying "Jibblie" over and over again before Homsar waddles away. Looks like Glinda won't be using that any more. Finally, some RED Scouts overheard the awful music coming from the stereo. About six rush in and start beating the stereo with their baseball bats until the infernal music plays no more. Then they run off, but they do drop some stuff. Two cans of Bonk! Atomic Punch and two cans of Crit-a-Cola land on the ground.

Puffins R Cool, send in your next victim pokemon. Son_of_Shadoo will order after this, and then Puffins R Cool will order.

Also, make sure your pokemon can actually carry out its orders and read the item descriptions for how to use them.

Ladies, we gon' fuck this new guy up GOOD.

Glinda, without your painting, you... Kind of suck. But it's ok, because you're Kristin Chenowith. Grab a flaming rock, load it into the cannon, and fire it at the mighty Pichu. If the cannon is already loaded by the time you get there, throw it at him instead, and then get a can of Crit-a-Cola.

Elphie, you're probably going down here, but it's ok, because you're Idina Menzel. Grab two flaming rocks, and chuck them at Pichu, one after the other, obviously.

Shells, this your show now. Grab that anvil, chuck it at Elphaba, then run into Glinda to throw off her aim.

Pika, load and shoot the cannon at Glinda, then throw that other water balloon at her.

What day is it? It's OUR DAY!!!
