BATTLE ON!

Arena:

ASB Tournament Arena:

Tournament Arena with a giant Groudon in the middle and a Revenankh watching. The Revenankh can effect the pokemon in whatever way the ref wants, as long as it is not extremly significant, and is logical. The Groudon in the middle acts as a blockade, and his Drought ability causes it to constantly be sunny. If the Groundon takes a total of 50 damage, he will let lose an Earthquake that hits *everyone (even pokemon that would normally be immune).* (Groudon takes damage from missed attacks and multi-target attacks. To calculate the power of attacks hitting him, or attacks he uses, use the stats listed in the Data Audit thread.)

Rules:

1vs1vs1vs1 Melee
2-day DQ
2 Recovers / 5 Chills
Abilities=ALL
Items=OFF

Caveat: Everyone brought their pokemon to the battle for a battle in the Tournament arena. However, when everybody was showing off their pokemon, Groudoun was awakened!! Nobody really cared about Groudon, their pokemon were so much better. But, the rumbling of the earth casued all of them to drop their pokeballs. In the middle of the arena, lay 4 pokeballs, and each person confused about which one was theirs. None of the battlers wanted to show that they were unaware of which ball was theirs, so they confidently piked up a random pokeball, hoping to show that they could tell which one was theirs. However, a nearby Revenankh was watching, and decided to put a curse on them, so that the ball they picked would never be theirs. Everybody picked up the ball, when Groudon walked onto the Tourney arena. Everybody immediately tried to catch the Groudon, and they simply used the pokemon they picked up. Every sends out the wrong pokemon, but they still try to catch the Groudon. However, they just end up fighting with each other, showing that they are worthy to catch the Groudon.

--------------------

Okay here we are again in the CAP ASB Tournament Arena for another rinky-dink melee with no surprises and a predictable outcome so let's meet our OHLOOKAGROUDON--

The beast awakens with a rush of heat that boils the atmosphere around the arena! Fire Blast looks up in shock as the monster lets out a deafening Roar that causes both himself and Tortferngatr to drop their Pokeballs! The two scramble after the Pokemon they brought to do battle today as the Pokeballs tumble and bounce closer and closer to the terrifying behemoth! Hearing the disturbance, Groudon whips around, smashing its tail into the ground near AlphaJolt and knocking him on his back! Alphajolt's Pokeball jumps off his belt from the impact and rolls over towards Woodchuck! Frightened from Groudon's dangerous awakening, Woodchuck still tries to do the right thing and grabs the Pokeball to release it for AlphaJolt! Woodchuck also grabs one of his own Pokeballs to throw into the mix, but an aftershock from Groudon's attack caused Woodchuck to trip and drop both Pokeballs! Now all four competitors are staring down Earth's mighty titan! They stare down at the Pokeballs scattered about and realize they have no choice but to grab the closest ball and protect themselves with whatever comes out! Wow, this battle just got interesting! There's no way this could get any more interesting WTFAREVENANKH!?

What the hell is that doing here? Looks like Revenankh is just watching from around the perimeter of the Arena, but an eerie echo around the air is telling me that if Rev is damaged in any way, it'll attack the source of the damage with a Drain Punch to get its health back! Things are just getting more and more dangerous and complex! Well battlers, all you can do now is just go with the flow! Just take what you get and survive through the battle!

Fire Blast releases Hermes the DRAGONITE!

Tortferngatr releases Forest Fire the PYROAK!

Alphajolt releases Pwem the LUCARIO!

Woodchuck releases Flotsam the WALREIN!

Because of the size of the match I believe it would be best for everyone to PM your Actions to me for each Round, for the fairness. In the meantime, feel free to post comments, questions, concerns, haikus, or anything you want!

So much confusion
Groudon knocks us all about
WTF Walrein

there's my haiku
EDIT: How will counters work for this? Do they go to the trainer's pokemon, to the pokemon itself, or what?

Hmmmmmmmm, Dragonite. (Although that Pyroak looks p awesome)

Btw, Dragonite should have Inner Focus, not Shed Skin!

Also, I'm pretty sure it is 3 actions per round.

Walrein's my strongest available Pokemon right now, if you count Tourney Krill as a separate Pokemon. I'd have brought Sigilyph, but she's currently RPing. Be grateful, I would have brought Abomasnow had I not decided it would have been incredibly unfair under permasun to inflict it on another player.

As for Pyroak...oh yes.

BTW, it's 3 moves per round, right?

Thanks for the catch Fire Blast. Lucario da beast gunna get it! (but if he doesn't Hermes will rape everyone cause that's what I've trained him to do.)

--------------------

With strange Pokemon at their control, the battlers quickly panic into action to try and end this confrontation quickly and prove their worth to the might Groudon! They also must be wary of the Revenankh floating around the perimeter of the battlefield, who will Drain Punch any Pokemon that harms it until it is back to full HP!

Pwem pops out of AlphaJolt's Pokeball and is immediately thrust into a confusing situation! Pwem brings down a Rock Slide on the entire Arena to be safe, but angers Revenankh in the process! From across the way, AlphaJolt spots his Hermes taking orders from Fire Blast and Toxic Poisoning Tortferngatr's Flotsam while Tort is forced to just stand there and watch as Flotsam flinches under the weight of Pwem's rocks! To add insult to injury, Tortferngatr has to watch the Poke he mistakenly released, Forest Fire, get crushed under the same rocks and flinch as well! Revenankh is boiling mad from Pwem's Rock Slide, so it enters the battlefield to land a Drain Punch on Pwem that heals it back up to full health!

Pwem, a little freaked out but still very much focused on the battle at hand, lands a huge Hi Jump Kick on Flotsam! Hermes flies over past the terrifying Groudon and follows up with a ThunderPunch on Flotsam that really left a mark! Flotsam, just pulling itself out from under the rocks, builds up an Aqua Ring around itself to protect it from further harm just before Forest Fire does a little defensive maneuver of its own with a Light Screen! Revenankh sits contently, watching as the chaos unfolds.

There is a slight lull in the action, but Pwem breaks it with a Swords Dance! Hermes, having not seen Revenankh's earlier attack on Pwem, rattles the entire field with an Earthquake, nabbing the attention of both Groudon and Revenankh! Yikes! As Hermes tries to create some distance between the two monsters, Flotsam unleashes a huge Blizzard that engulfs the Arena and causes Groudon to look enraged! Oh no! Stop hurting the bystanders, or something awful might happen! Forest Fire ignores this imaginary advice and instead lands a Rock Slide on everyone! Groudon is getting ready to retaliate, I can see it in its eyes, but thankfully it looks like it'll wait. Revenankh, however, is on a mission, nailing the fleeing Dragonite and then Forest Fire with consecutive Drain Punches! That thing looks mad!

Alright that was an exciting Round jam-packed with multi-hit moves for me to tirelessly calculate (and if not for the two flinches on A1, I would've had to do more :/). Anyways, feel free to make comments, cheer on your Pokemon or yell at them if they're not yours and you were forced to use them to underwhelming effect. Also, don't forget to PM me your Actions for Round 2!

I think this is gunna be a Dragonite vs Pyroak match, obviously with Dragonite on top cause he's just the best pokemon here ;) Kill them all Hermes! The Pokemon matters more than the trainer in this battle!

Back into the chaos comes Pwem with a mighty Blaze Kick that scores critical damage on Flotsam! Forest Fire follows up with a Giga Drain that Knocks the poor Walrein Out for good and draws first blood in this hectic fight! Off on its lonesome, Hermes makes a nifty Substitute to shield itself before Pwem tries to Force Palm the area Flotsam used to be sitting, accomplishing nothing! Forest Fire does some good by throwing up a Reflective barrier while Hermes scoots over to Pwem to land a sun-boosted Fire Punch! Revenankh looks like its enjoying taking zero collateral damage as it watches Pwem come crashing down on Forest Fire through its barrier for some good damage with a Hi Jump Kick! Forest Fire shakes off the damage and uses its grassy powers to perform a Growth that sharply raises its stats! Hermes follows up by targeting Pwem with a Fire Blast, but the attack goes awry and strikes Groudon! Groudon is fuming mad and has reached its boiling point, unleashing an enormous Earthquake that hits everyone for massive damage and teaches them not to mess with Groudon! Even the flying Hermes couldn't escape the blow! This leaves Pwem on low health and way in third place behind the relatively healthy Hermes and Forest Fire, but anything can happen now!

Phew that was a little easier than the last Round (you all escaped what was going to be a pretty devastating double Blizzard Combo from Walrein), but, since the walrus is KO'd, that means that Woodchuck is also out of the running. Woodchuck can and should still comment in between Rounds, but PMs will of course be a waste of time. The rest of you owe me PMs, though, so get to it!

You've done well Pwem, thanks for putting up with me even though I'm not your trainer. Give this one last shot though!

Down to three competitors (and a Groundon and a Revenankh), Pwem jumps up for a Hi Jump Kick on Forest Fire but slides right off its Pretective barrier, causing it to crash into the ground and nearly knock itself out! Never worry, for Hermes slams down on the ground with an Earthquake that nabs the KO on Pwem but further angers the matches big spectators! Revenankh, getting angry again, rushes forward and slams Hermes with a Drain Punch, but is getting hurt more than it's healing!

Forest Fire lets loose with a Rock Slide that topples over everyone on the field and destroys Hermes's Substitute! Forest Fire then eats a Fire Blast from Hermes before Revenankh, even madder than before, lands yet another Drain Punch on Forest Fire! Undeterred, Forest Fire lets loose another Rock Slide! Hermes sees the white hot rage in Revenankh's eyes as it is crushed under rocks, so it goes for a safe Dragon Pulse that does good damage! Revenankh is gunning for another attack on Forest Fire, but unfortunately it's pinned under some rocks and flinches! But Groudon is starting to notice the battlers again, as it has taken plenty of damage this Round. Watch out, battlers!
