The crowd is deathly quiet as the two trainers take their podiums to begin the fight, pouring over the teams and backpacks deciding how best to begin this important fight. Suddenly the crowd roars to life, cheering as Yarnus sends out his Mr. Mime, and LiA quickly counters with his Forretress. As the two mons square off, Yarnus throws Mr. Mime a Twisted Spoon, while Forretress catches(?) an Enigma berry that is thrown to it. The mons stare each other down, waiting for the other to make a move.

The action breaks as Forretress begins to hum vibrantly, however Mr. Mime quickly begins slinging insults and other tauntings at the bug. It doesn't affect its concentration much, however the nagging continues to linger in the back of its mind. Forretress then releases a small wave of sonic energy at Mr. Mime in retaliation, however the wave passes over the Mr. Mime without it taking much notice.

The Forretress, angry that Mr. Mime paid no head to it's attack decides to make life difficult for its foe, by launching traps at his side of the field! However Mr. Mime was ready for this, and surrounded itself in a reflective aura and quickly hopped around, batting all of the hazards back onto its opponents side of the field.
