You need to meet your friend online, playing Pokémon XY, at least once for Hidden Abilities to start appearing. After you meet them, you can find Hidden Abilities at any time, BUT it's easier when they are online.

Farfetch'd retained Mirror Move as an egg move from Altaria but did not pick up Moonblast, Perish Song or Refresh.
