I really wish you could weight questions on importance.

Economic Left/Right: -9.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.74

I have taken this test many times before over the years (which is why I had that image lying around). Unfortunately I don't have results from when I was younger but they would demonstrate a similar pattern anyway, I think.

Jumpluff, you damned, dirty commie! If you hate capitalism so much, why don't you go back to Soviet China!

Also Trax, your position as a leftist is hardly shocking when you see where Deck Knight ended up. Apparently he has no particular interest in freedom from government, and likes the free market but not enough to go all in. You just happen to be a leftist who doesn't like boat people/immigrants in general, which is hardly an uncommon stance in this racist ass country.

Yeeeeeee nigggggaaaaaaaa I disliked a handful of questions because of their leading nature, but I made do.

Deck Knight ended up pretty much exactly where you would expect him, centre right economically and kind of in the middle liberties wise (largely due to distrust of the guy in the white house meaning he now suddenly opposes large slabs of the patriot act). Just because he's about the furthest right wing poster regularly posting in political threads on Smogon (a mostly young and intellectually inclined forum) doesn't actually mean he fits that position in the wider community.

As for the last part; I don't dislike immigrants (at least, not on a personal level) but having seen the projected population growth for the major cities (which are already too big) it has become my view that we have too many people in Australia compared to what Australia can support (both in terms of natural resources and infrastructure).

I went from -10,-10 about a year ago to

-10, -9.60 today. While this change might seem pretty minimal, I think it is indicative of a vastly different attitude to pornography and sex with regard to the treatment of women and the role that the state may or may not play in regulating that.

I got post modern in the quiz in the OP.

For the political compass test, got very similar results as to 2 years ago:

Two years ago I was just slightly up and to the left.

No surprise again that I'm relatively middle leaning left, as I'm pretty strongly left for (mostly) social issues like:

LBGTQ rights (they are equal and should be able to marry and adopt kids lol),
religion (secular society ftw),
drug legalization (#freepot #freecocaine),
pornography (legalize it, but regulate the fuck out of it to ensure performer (male and female) safety),
abortion (allow it up until the point medical standards can reasonably sustain the life (aware this line is obviously subjectively) which leads me to allowing abortion till around the beginning of the 3rd trimester)
some military things (plz gtfo out of middle east america >.>)

but middle to rightish on issues like:

personal security rights (no issue with stringent regulation, but believe in the right to own guns),
the evils of big business (don't think big business as a concept is evil, just certain examples are in practice, also would impose regulation to prevent monopolies),
government benefits (strong believer in government benefits focusing on self-sustenance for the future, like education, rather than set monetary amounts for immediate benefits)
some military things (don't support cutting military funding into R&D)

Interesting to see a lot of you move more left as time has gone on.

one question into the test and it's already reminding me why i hate political quizzes: "If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."

Where is the option for: innovations created to serve trans-national corporations will almost certainly end up being beneficial to humanity as a whole. guess i have to pick 'strongly disagree' here, idek

again: "military action that defies international law is sometimes justified." i agree because of situations like israel's where international law dictates "stand by as you watch your citizens get shelled" but if i pick agree it'll think i mean "invade country for oil just because yolo"

"the enemy of my enemy is my friend"—i currently strongly disagree but in crisis situations e.g. world war ii it's a totally different story.

"controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment"—i shouldnt even have to detail this false dichotomy

not going to keep chronicling why i dont like this quiz, ive done enough i think lol

ok i lied one more: "Multinational companies are unethically exploiting the plant genetic resources of developing countries."—yes but they wouldnt be able to nearly as easily without shit like the world bank and the banning of ddt etc...

anyway this is the standing i got:

which is fairly consistent with what i'd gotten when i took this test in previous years; very slightly more libertarian and slightly more rightist.

Here's my score. I'm surprised that I wasn't -10 on Libertarian/Authoritarian. I despise Authoritarianism.
I believe in everyone's right to do whatever they want as long as they don't harm anyone else, even things the average person considers "wrong".
I support same-sex marriage, abortion rights, people over profit, public nudity, polygamy, recreational drug use, termination of the death penalty, swearing on TV/radio/whatever, internet privacy, and even swearing in court.
Of course, that's not all I stand for, but you could ask me my position on anything. I'm an open book.

Putting this here for my own future reference.
Economic: -0.12
Social: -5.69

Literally completely economically centrist... at least I'm adequately represented by US Democrats.

I am always tired. Don't bother me.
Always was a bit Libertarian. Not too surprised by my results.

I'm not the only one concerned at the lack of an obtain option right? I was feeling pretty good until it asked me to rank between inflation and unemployment, where I would say that I don't have the information requisite to make a definitive judgment if asked in real life. Also, the existence of only two degrees of strength is troubling. I'd guess most people's answers to the last questions (morality of unmarried sex/homosexuality) would contain far greater extreme answers than say, the questions about astrology or luck.

You mean abstain, right? Definitely agree; a lot of these questions have me between a rock and a hard place, and I'd need to clarify what I meant by that.
Like, I believe one of the questions is "Violence is never the answer" or something? Well 99% of the time, no, it wouldn't be, but say there's someone fifty metres away from you, gun in hand, and they're gonna shoot up a classroom? How the hell're you gonna reason with some nutball who's doing that? Tell them to stop? What if they don't? If I had a weapon I'd incapacitate that person at the very least - I'm not gonna let someone kill all of the people inside that room just because I have some weird idea that injuring or even killing him if there's no other way is better than letting some thirty innocent people lose their lives prematurely. That said, it's a tricky subject and should be done on a case-by-case basis, but that's the trick, isn't it? So, I would answer that question with a "no," as in "no I don't think that violence is never the answer," but those cases are few and far between, and I wouldn't consider "the protection of capitalism" to be a good enough reason to despise/want to initiate war with another country, for example.

Jesus Christ, Crux. I'd consider myself a liberal [as does the test, apparently] but which label would you put on your beliefs? What would you classify yourself as, and what do you believe?

Judging by Whistle's graph I occupy the same position economically but have switched positions (to the same level of extremity) on authoritarianism vs libertarianism since three years ago

The Political Compass
Economic Left/Right: -4.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.36

i took this like a year ago and pretty much was in the same place. my views are funky since i like free markets but dislike capitalism, so i guess my hatred of capitalism outweighed my likeness of a free market. i am definitely a libertarian though with some smaller authoritarian viewpoints. i'm basically thomas jefferson i guess.

Welp here's mine

I used to be a bit more left, but Im this wierd thing that cant make up his mind, but generally socially im liberal, and I strongly support small business over large ones

I believe that means that if global stocks(for example) are inevitable, they should try to help human's general life and welfare, not that of global companies. Anyway, I got liberal and hate the compass test, so I didn't do that one. Kind've surprise me, as I thought I was a Republican(not strong leaning, but still).

Wait, I thought free market was capitalism. Am I wrong?
