A stiff wind was whipping through the ASB Arena today, causing Complications to narrow his eyes. Squinting at his opponent, he remembered his last fight with Rediamond. The situation had been much different; he was challenging Rediamond's gym, and was far more inexperienced. Though both trainers were down to their last Pokemon, in a single, decisive, round, Rediamond KO'd Complications' Jellicent, and sealed his fate.

"Not this time," Complications said aloud, tightly gripping a Pokéball."Go, Frenzy!" he shouted, releasing the fiend onto the field. "Greetings, Rediamond! I trust you remember my Gengar," Complications shouted to the othe leader. "You'll find he's not so lacking in moves as he was last time!"

Frenzy the Gengar @ Gengarite: Mega Evolve

"Ah, yes, a new opponent. An old, new opponent. It has been some time since I ventured forth from my lair to battle another trainer in the open, without the advantages and constraints of my gym. Have I lost my touch? I believe we'll find out. Say hello to my oldest friend, a threat far more dangerous than any of my insect pets. Celeste, I choose you!"

Gardevoir @ Focus Sash

"I am afraid that our Mega Evolution is best saved until later. For now we must work hard to minimize the disadvantage this situation places us in so that Heracross may rampage freely when the time comes. There is no point trying to out-trick a normal Gengar, forget a mega one. As such, it is best to go on the offense in this situation, come what may."

Psychic~Hidden Power~Psyshock
IF Taunt, use Magic Coat and push actions back
IF Double Team, use Snatch and push actions back

Complications didn't like the matchup... Thank god he could switch next round. However, he still had to deal with this round first. Though Frenzy's sadistic grin remained unwavering, Complications knew his long-time companion well: though standing still, he was analyzing his opponent, searching for the weakness that would let Frenzy into its core.

Protect-Sludge Bomb-Sludge Wave
If Gardevoir is poisoned when you would attack, change that action to Venoshock.

Comp's turn.

"Hmm... I didnt like the matchups from the start," Complications grumbled to himself. It was true; despite building a team designed to have a counter for most every possible threat he could think of, Complications felt as though he fell short of that goal this time. Despite this, he gritted his teeth and pressed on; it was time to do something risky.
Switching to Excadrill @ Expert Belt. Counterswitch?

"Hmm wasn sure about the mechanics... very well."

Iron Head-Earthquake-Iron Head
If Gardevoir uses Focus Blast, use Dig on that action, but not consecutively.
If Gardevoir uses Reflect, use Brick Break on the following action.

"There are times where the situation would require sacrificing you, Celeste, however much I hate to admit it. Now is not one of those times. Set up to further our future potential and avoid immediate harm."

Teleport (Evasive)~Trick Room~Focus Blast

His Focus Blast sub should have activated, leaving Excadrill with a few fewer energy and Gardevoir with a few more HP.

"Fantastic job. Now all the cards are in place. Let us pick up the pace."

Switching out Gardevoir. Sending in Heracross @ Heracronite

"How will you deal with a nuclear weapon in Pokemon form staring you down?"

Counterswitch?

"My trap senses are tingling so hard I look like an epileptic Spiderman. Proceed with caution. And destruction."

[MEGA EVOLVE] Brick Break~Arm Thrust~Brick Break
IF Ariel Ace in a combination, then use Substitute (15)~Focus Punch starting on that action and push actions back
If Double Team, use Pursuit and push actions back

This is now ridiculous. Comp has been over DQ twice now, which I think makes me justified in pushing the nuke to end the match. To be clear:

I am calling disqualification on Complications if approved by the people running this tournament.

Suddenly, several rocks fell from the sky! Everyone is in panic!

They hit Complications and killed him, as well as his pokemon!

AND THAT MEANS, THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH IS......

Rediamond!
