[SET]
name: Physically Defensive

move 2: Giga Drain

move 4: Synthesis / Rest / Toxic Spikes
item: Eviolite
ability: Natural Cure

[SET COMMENTS]

- Due to how popular Pursuit has become, this is Roselia's best bet in the current metagame.
- While Roselia's physical bulk is very poor, with max investment and Eviolite, it actually becomes quite passable, while her special bulk is still fairly good.
- This lets Roselia be less vulnerable to the ever-popular Pursuit which helps let her set up Spikes with less fear.
- Also allows Roselia to check dangerous threats such as Kabutops (without LO), Feraligatr, and other things that a specially defensive spread is unable to deal with.
- Also makes a nice Durant / Escavalier lure, due to the fact that they assume Roselia is helpless against them, only for Roselia to survive the hit and retaliate with HP Fire.
- Sludge Bomb is still viable if you don't want to be helpless against Moltres though.
- Synthesis / Rest are your primary recovery options; if you have a Wish supporter like Alomomola however, Toxic Spikes are also a good option.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- Max defense protects Roselia from Pursuit and lets it take on a different array of threats than a specially defensive spread.
- Toxic Spikes can also be used over regular Spikes if you feel that they would be more effective.
- Alomomola is a very solid partner since it helps beat stuff like Entei that still pose a threat to Roselia, while also supplying it with Wishes to keep it healthy.
- Rhydon is also good, since it can set up Stealth Rock and beat Fire- and Flying-types fairly effectively.
- Cryogonal / Kabutops are also nice since Rose hates spikes.

248 hp / 252 def / 8 spd, since otherwise it's taking extra damage from hazards. not sure if it's worth calling it an esca / durant lure, since given that it is the best rose set in the metagame, it will be the primary set on the analysis, which kinda kills any surprise value it would otherwise have (in theory). it'd probably worth mentioning how thorough of a ferroseed response this rose set is when packing hp fire, since it eats up status and takes ~25-30% from Gyro Ball and can 2HKO in return. sludge bomb also gets decent chip damage on drudd (more so w/the poison than w/out) and hits lilli significantly harder than hp fire (~60-70% at +1, as opposed to hp fire's 30-35%), though it'd be worth mentioning that a moderately healthy hp fire lilli is probably breaking through regardless. i'd consider stun spore in ac for the last slot (obv.if the team can afford wish support, though they usually can), since it's rose's best move to catch moltres on the switch, as well as irritating stuff like entei / sigi switch-ins and helping it check / counter 'mons like lilli and gatr a bit better.

Maybe mention 24 Speed EVs to beat out Lanturn and pop it with Giga Drain before it can Volt Switch out? Kinda situational, but it's a thought.

Anyway, agree with what col49 said. Solid set. Rosie needs more love, etc., etc.

AC Sleep Powder + TS imo, consider this a 3rd qc check unless there's some rule against it idk.
