I am always tired. Don't bother me.
Going to say that I like the fact that Brynhildr's OP has no lyrics. Makes the opening that much more haunting and intense which is how the show should be presenting itself.

I hate to make a double, but I just watched Captain Earth and I'm not sure if I'm going to touch the series ever again. But before I dive into negatives let me make one thing clear: the animation is beautiful. Bones is a fantastic animating company that has a good history of making great animations.

The first episode, however, is a mish-mash. From cliche lines to the "foreshadowing" you see in most shows whose genre it shares was all compiled into one episode. Oh and not to mention somehow the protagonist gets to ride a mech within a mech. Last time I saw that was in Gurren Lagann. Except that happened towards the end of the show. And that show presented itself 100x better in the first episode. Overall the show was meh and the first episode felt like a train wreck worthy of being worse than the way things went in Guilty Crown. I may sneak the second episode in just to see if it turns out better, but based on the direction the show is going, I don't think it's quite worth it.

I'll give it that much mercy.

I like Brynhildr too, definitely keeping
also i'm going to plug Anime Pulse again, until people start listening to them, they just hit 400 episode of anime reviews, which is like 8.5 years. They HAVE watched more anime than you. plz

Captain Earth
It's too early to judge. It was kind of typical, but it never actually turned me off from wanting to watch more, so I can't see where you're coming from with this.

brynhildr in the darkness episode one was really good. expecting a lot from the series.
The manga is fantastic so not surprised there.
In fact, I hated Brynhildr, so these are pretty interesting calls fmpov. Fuck, even the flags show didn't turn me off yet.

Brynhildr was a decent opening ep. I'm keeping up with the manga, so I definitely can't wait for it to pick up. Captain Earth as mentioned has gorgeous animation. The expanding sequence was beautiful. Everything else is pretty much standard atm.

Mahouka was another decent start. Again I've been reading the LN's (currently almost done with Vol 6) so I absolutely cannot wait to see the certain parts. The overly brocon Miyuki didn't bother me nearly as much as most people but still a slight negative.

One-Week Friends surprised me the most and ended up being one of my favorites for the premier eps.

Everything else so far have been decent starts. Looking forward to Sidonia No Kishi, Date A Live 2, and Mekakucity Actors during the following days!

Just finished watching Black Bullet and No Game, No Life.

TOO

MUCH

LOLI

Otherwise both shows have fun concepts. BB being sort of a Guilty Crown + AoT combo and NG,NL being very similar to Mondaiji.

Black Bullet is probably going to be destroyed by its writing and execution. They're trying to pull a bunch of things at once and already it doesn't mesh. It won't mesh when they inevitably inject the show with horror drama and whatever too. I'm grieving over the potential this show had for two days now.

...because I couldn't resist.

No Game No Life is actually pretty cool, but they've been holding back with the ecchi fanservice bullshit. I know I'll force myself to drop it when it gets less subtle.

Hitsugi no Chaika is right up my alley. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like it already. Fills up the void Black Bullet left behind nicely.

I have no idea how Matsutarou is gonna turn out, as I can't find scans anywhere and episode 1 really didn't tell us anything about the overall plot. But I love the OP:

I have plenty of faith that I'll love Mekaku, but it's horrible that they're not giving a damn with the animation. They could do better even if it's an artistic choice. Horrible, because this will be raking in profits anyway, so it sets a bad precedent.

But I mainly wanted to post because this thread has no Mushishi Season 2 in it. The only reason I'm not watching the second season right now is because I'm watching the first season. You don't have to watch the first season (and OVA) to watch the second, there's just no reason on Earth not to watch the rest too, so I'm doing that first. I'll probably sprinkle in an episode every few days - not in chunks since each episode is more or less standalone.

I thought about watching mushishi but forgot to get around to it. As for Mekaku I get an NHK and Hamatora vibe from it. I like it. My personal favorite is still Brynhildr in the Darkness though. Two episodes down and they're already giving me goosebumps.

kamigami is a no i think, pretty sure it's a reverse harem and it wasn't very impressive
soredemo ep 2 was pretty interesting, but there is still no direction
other stuff is pretty much what people have said

I'm thinking of trying out Knights of Sidonia. Also Atalier Escha & Logy (which I hear is an actual game as well). Not sure if either is good. I shall warn you all if they're bad and if you should never touch them ever.

I feel like I might've liked Sidonia were it not for the fact that the whole thing is done with terrible CG. It's acceptable for robots but the characters look awful.

Otherwise, JJBA is great as expected, Mahouka and No Game No Life are actually alright so far unlike what I was expecting, Captain Earth shows promise and looks fantastic but it's plot is kind of all over the place right now, much as I like SHAFT Mekaku's first episode was pretty ho-hum, Nanana was fun.

I like atelier, def check it out
sometimes the animation is a bit dodgy, especially with distances, but the anime itself is pretty good. Also stays true to the game to a pretty funny extent (mix a bunch of random liquids and ingredients in a cauldron to make a wheel. Seriously its a wheel with no evidence of the ingredients present - I love it). Also expect plenty of potential waifu material girls

also one week friends is adorable, brynildr is nice, no game no life is better than I expected, akuma no riddle is pretty cool and seikoku no dragonar has a really good, deep plot

edit: oh and mangaka-san to assistant-san to is a fun anime with half length episodes, pretty amusing so far

RODAN

Banned deucer.
wat da fuck how did black bullet go from being so ass last week to being actually kinda good this week, if it continues like this i have high hopes

in other news seikoku no dragonar is the worst show i have ever seen but its kinda fascinatingly bad

AFAICT it didn't get any better. It's like they messed up and made the entire cast act like ten year old girls instead of just the ten year old girls. It just made me mad at any attempted plot point because it was so bad. I don't think that's intended.

I'm thinking of trying out Knights of Sidonia.
Tsutomu Nihei is an awesome manga-ka, if you like cyberpunk with lots of weird, you will like Knights of Sidonia. If your taste is more towards the slice of life, comedy, or that moe stuff, then it might not be up your alley. I liked the manga but I thought Blame! was better....though the latter doesn't translate well to an anime format because of very little dialogue and a lot of architecture porn. I don't watch anime that much but I plan on seeing it because I enjoyed the manga and I love Tsutomu Nihei.
