Well here we are at the Ruined Eden, the TLR divided into the fully updated, the partially updated, and the fully outdated. AOPSUser here looks like aiming for the fully outdated. TLR Begin!

RUINED EDEN

Set before you is a massive island that humans have long ago abandoned. Leaving from the helicopter you took here onto a vista, you look down & see a land shrouded in a thick poisonous mist. Directly in front of you is a thoroughly unappealing Swamp, which covers an expansive amount of land. You can see a Stream feeding into further up and to the right, in an area that appears to be under a constant, violent electrical storm. To the right a massive build-up of land forms a caldera around a huge lake of lava that is led into by a vast expanse of barren rock.

Scattered throughout the wreckage you see some indications that humans once lived here, but that a cataclysm occurred. What little you can see through the tinted fog looks like deeply corroded ruins of civilisation. You turn your attention to the very far side of the island, behind the lake of lava. In the distance sits a massive tower that would at once point been a pillar of civilisation, but now appears to be a massive tower of blackened soot, standing as a permanent reminder of the permanence of nothing but entropy. Humanity has abandoned this place, but rumours of legends still abound. You survey the pathways down from the Vista. Which place do you approach first?

Toxic Swamp - Murky Grove

Not interested in a long walk, you decide that the best path to take from the vista was to walk directly through to the Toxic Swamp. Feeling satisfied, you walk, bracing yourself for gaseous smells & whatnot.

After a minute or two, you walk in what looks like the opening of the Toxic Swamp. Entering, you could already notice a gaseous smell, & it did not smell good as you scanned the place. It was fairly murky, with a pond of water nearby, but the water looked contaminated, & was not drinkable. Besides, who knows what diseases you could get. The place was surrounded by a canopy of trees, & it was rather dark. Nevertheless, the corrupted look of the place was the least of your concerns, as you were attacked by an Ekans & a Gulpin! As they attack you, you are forced to send in your Pokémon! Battle Begin!
Restrictions: None.
Description: Murky Grove is the area where the player enters first to encounter the lackeys. The area is a simple swampy place with all external sources, but Pokémon need to be careful with using the sludge-filled water, since using it can cause the Pokemon to suffer Toxic Poison, & has a variety of effects depending on the move! Additionally, the player must be wary, since the sludge in the water is potent enough to cause the air to be poisonous!

Visible Mechanics:
  • Arena Type: Water's Edge (Produces Bubble Beam).
  • Moves requiring an External Water Source will work, but...
    • When used by a Pokemon owned by the player, the user will be inflicted with Toxic Poisoning, and...
      • In the case of Surf, all Pokemon struck have a 30% chance of being poisoned.
      • In the case of Soak, the target is poisoned.
  • The poisonous air may inflict Poison on Pokémon.

Toxic Swamp - Murky Grove

Willing to just get on with the job, your team starts to lay some serious blows on the Gulpin before the Lackeys retaliated. The two lackeys then synchronised their attacks, bathing your entire team in poisonous sludge & dealing some noticeable damage. Following the brutal attack, your team gets to work once more, taking out the Gulpin in short order. The Ekans—the remaining lackey—then fired off another wave of sludge which deals damage to your team, before the Slowking dealt a lot of damage to the Ekans with a mental assault. Luckily for you, no one managed to breathe in poisonous air... You hope this will continue to be the case, especially after a somewhat rough first round.

Toxic Swamp - Venomous Pool

After a long trek through the forest, you come to another area with a pool of water. This was not just another run of the mill scenario as this area looks more like an arena, with several water patches containing the same contaminated effect as other pools of water, alongside a lot of solid land. Just like the other areas you have come across, this area is also surrounded by trees. However, the murky feel of the place is the least of your concerns when suddenly, you are attacked by a Drapion and a Quagsire! You send in your Pokémon in defence, as the battle starts in earnest...

Restrictions: Only Rain & Clear Weather allowed.

Description: Venomous Pool is home to the Guardians of Toxic Swamp. The poison in the water here is more potent than before, & as a result, the air is more poisonous, & when rain is summoned, the poison gives a poisonous feel to the rain, increasing the strength of Poison moves! The battle takes place close to a lake, & is desolate in appearance.

Visible Mechanics:
  • Arena Type: Water's Edge (Produces Bubblebeam).
  • Moves requiring an External Water Source will work, but...
    • When used by a Pokémon owned by the player, the user will be inflicted with Toxic Poisoning, and...
      • In the case of Surf, all Pokémon struck have a 30% chance of being poisoned.
      • In the case of Soak, the target is poisoned.
  • The poisonous air may inflict Poison on Pokémon.
  • The poisonous air also seeps into rain, resulting in the BP of Poison-Type Moves being boosted by three (3) under Rain.
  • A couple of other hidden effects which may or may not be relevant.
