Shoutouts to Bloo for real, I would be mad a) because I lost b) because of the Focus miss c) Rematch wasn't considered when sogeking is bringing up extremely valid points and d) Leftiez acting like it was nothing after he literally just pulled off some miracles that could get him canonized. Yet, Bloo just put up the next round and made some shoutouts; think about doing a rematch or link this thread in a on player behavior thread because this man deserves both.

why exactly does the sim not follow game mechanics? someone said it wasnt high on the priority list but generally the difference between tying and losing would be one of the biggest priorities in most simulators

lol have no worries masterclass im here to honor u

Edit: the fact is i dont fucking give a fuck about the XY, man he used like 3 focus blast so the miss was obv, then without my stone edge miss on azu, i had won it 100% cause it die with SS, so don't be like im a (BAN ME PLEASE). especially when i choked the DPP one while i had won it 100%. cya

do you know how probabilities work? each focus blast use is its own separate instance. just because two focus blast were used previously doesn't mean the third one is influenced at all. it was still 70%. you got the 30%, and then the 25% with the full para. i like you, leftiez, but stop being a little bitch about it because that's 100% retard.

I know this isn't going to mean too much to him, but after watching that series, I have mad respect for Bloo both as a player and as a person. After getting haxed a ton in game 3, Bloo was still making incredible plays which put him in the best possible situation. It's sad it ended the way it did, but you honestly couldn't have done anything better, and you handled the situation better than I think anyone else would have on Smogon.

As for Leftiez, I think you've said some silly things, but overall I think you played great, and you're deserving of going through to the finals. I wish you good luck in the finals against M Dragon, and I hope the games will be as exciting as the semi final games.

As for the people getting pissed at the result, you have to keep in mind that we all know this game has a luck factor involved. If Bloo can keep his cool about the result, you should be able to as well.

Predicting M Dragon to win in DPP, and Lefties to win in XY, BW really could go either way.

You dont need to explain yourself or even say anything, shutting up is your best tool atm. You have done great this tour, I know when people are being annoying and you just want to get your word out there I can understand that, but that will only get people against you, just let them be mad discussing with them when they are mad is basically useless.

Anyway great series and gl to both mdragon and leftiez, also wd masterclass and bloo for getting to semis.

And lol my english I know tell me about it

Rooting for my nigga Leftiez, but I wouldn't mind if M Dragon takes it, since he really deserves to win one of those Smogon Tours.

GL, and go Leftiez.

Sorry Blara but your comment bugged the hell out of me because its so wrong. :/
Well theres something called sequence of events in probability. And hitting several focus blasts falls under that category if you consider the situation in which they are happening. So Leftiez is right in that sense that hitting several Focus Blasts are a sequence and thus lowering the exspectation to hit one again. Basic math to be honest. Just had to clarify this so that not more people make false claims (did this stuff alot in university).....

Regardless of the mathematics behind Mons those were 2 pretty enjoyable series (high level plays) and im impressed by Bloos sportmanship and calm attitude after his close loss even with a few events not going in his favour. Impressive.
Anyways im looking forward to the finals.

previous results do not affect the probability of a single event, theyre all separate events. the expectation to hit that many consecutive is low so you cannot complain of it missing, but one hitting does not mean its more or less likely for the next one to miss.

as an aside: leftiez obviously isn't proficient in english and everyone ganging up on him is just making him say shit that doesn't make much sense. it's just gonna be a positive feedback loop

just leave the kid alone it's a fuckin game lol

regardless, rooting for mariano dragon. nigga been trying to win a trophy since i got my first pacifer. it's his time IMO

nice run though, bloo

no. that makes zero sense whatsoever if you knew what you were talking about in the slightest, so let's have a tiny little review on the most basic of probability lessons.

if you roll two six sided die, what are the odds that both dice will be a six? 1/6 * 1/6 = 1/36. if you rolled a dice and got a six, what are the odds that the next dice you roll is a six as well? 1/6. that is because the first dice roll does not influence the second one, it's called an independent event.

what are the odds that you hit three focus blast in a row? .7 * .7 * .7 = .343, or 34.3%. however, if he hit the first two focus blast already, what are the odds of the third one being a hit? 70%, because they are INDEPENDENT EVENTS.

if you have to hit three focus blast in a row to win a game, and haven't done so yet, you should expect to miss at least one of them because odds are slim (34%), that you hit all three of them. but if you hit the first two, the odds of hitting the third one is still just 70% since the previous ones don't influence that one at all!!! i really don't know what you're talking about, and the fact that you misunderstand such a basic concept to that horrendous of a degree is scary, especially since you did that "stuff" a lot in university!

what you're describing seems to be the gambler's fallacy. if you're playing roulette at a casino, and the ball has landed on red eight times in a row, it would be fallacious to put it on black because "it's bound to hit black this time, since it's hit red so often before."

just so we clear: previous instances do not affect future ones for INDEPENDENT EVENTS.
