Overview
########

• Reliable Rapid Spinner
• High Attack and Defense stats with nice STAB combination
• Knock Off to hit Ghost-types trying to block the spin
• Access to Swords Dance and priority Aqua Jet
• Weak to common Grass-, Fighting-, Ground-, and Electric-type moves
• New Ghost-type additions such as Doublade and Cofagrigus make spinning less easy - strong competition with defog users
• Speed is okay but not great

Set Details
========

• Ev spread and Adamant is standard for Speed and power
• Weak armor is chosen as swift swim isnt useful without rain, though if used on a rain team obviously SS is ideal
• Life Orb provides more immediate power
• Lum is really good as insurance against status, especially when facing bulky spinblockers such as gourgeist and cofagrigus

Usage Tips
========

• Use Kabutops to spin away entry hazards
• Spinning on a ghost-type loses a ton of momentum, so if the opponent has a healthy spinblocker it can sometimes be best to play accordingly with coverage moves, or boost with SD to break through them.
• Kabutops's high defense and nice typing means it can switch into many physical hits, especially Fire-type ones. Use it to check the likes of Emboar and Delphox. Avoid letting Kabutops be worn down too much though, as spinning is its primary job.
• This set can also act as a lategame win condition with SD and/or Aqua jet

Team Options
========

• Pokemon weak to hazards in general
• Fire-types such as Delphox are really good as Kabutops removes SR for them, and they can take on Grass-types that give kabutops trouble.
• Fast teams appreciate Sticky Web removal, balanced teams appreciate Kabutops's typing and resistances.
• Yanmega and Moltres resist Grass- and Fighting-type moves and likes having rocks removed

• Swift Swim is chosen as this set is really effective with Rain Dance support
• Life Orb maximizes power output.
• Lum Berry is viable for protection against status that could ruin a sweep

Usage Tips
========

• This set is best used as a late game sweeper
• avoid setting up too early, it is better to land a weaker hit and wear down checks than setting up and being KOed
• in fact, if used under rain, often you won't even need to set up an SD; simply use Kabutops as a powerful wallbreaker and revenge killer
• Good times to use SD are when facing something that Kabutops can live a hit from, or forces out. good examples include Moltres.
