Here in the caldera of a long dead volcano the highest caste of Pokemon commune in the way that they know best, they speak a language that is universal to all dragons and all beings, the language of claws and power, of blood and pain, here the dragons fight.

The spoils of victory line the walls of the caves where the natives live, and in the center itself the ground is packed tight and cracked from pressure; for since the dawn of dragons there has never ceased to be a fight. They fight not for power, not for status, they fight because it runs in their marrow. These majestic beings fight because to conquer and subject is in their nature.

This is where the dragons originated. All species of dragons were born in this very place. Here they gathered together and tested their power against each other. This created a pressure of the very essence and soul of dragons that diffuses in the air. Dragons not used to this environment are overwhelmed by the assault of draconic power and as a result cannot harness their own innate abilities until they have adjusted. (Challenger Dragon Pokemon do not receive STAB benefits for 3a of battle time)

Recently, the Dragon Sords convened and granted an outsider special exception among their ranks. Charizard, the Dragon that never was, has been reborn as kith and kin through commune with humans. The Dragon Lords have permitted them into the pack on the condition that they only enter into the lair already in their draconic state. (Charizard may be brought by the Gym Leader and is always Mega evolved, holding Charizardite-X)

The dragons were born to rule and abhor all that would hold them back. This desire fuels the dragon's spirit, the spirit that infuses every substance near the lair. As a result, the tools of the dragons to defeat their natural adversaries are strengthened by the collective desire of all dragons to maintain their rightful place as Lords of all Pokemon. (+2 BAP to Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-type moves)

Hotfix: Rivalry's debuff against opposite gender Pokemon does not occur.

Team Leader:

Pay attention to charizard and greninja because I say so. For reason really.

Dark:
Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks.

Abilities:
Torrent:
When this Pokemon's HP is lower than 33%, the Base Attack Power of any water attack is increased by two (2). (eg Water Pulse goes from 6 to 8, Hydro Pump from 12 to 14)
Protean:
By default, this Pokemon switches their type before striking with each damaging attack to match the attack they are about to use, and keep that type until another damaging move is used. The energy cost for the attack is calculated based on their type before using the move. When toggled, the Pokemon reverts back to their natural typing. Pokemon that also have Color Change ability may select whether to keep their current type or the damaging attack's type each action.

Types:
Normal:
Normal STAB; +1 BAP on attacks that match dominant arena type after 3 actions. Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Trace:
When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.

Command: Activate Trace (target ability) - 5 En - Replace Trace with the target Ability for six (6) actions. When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace.
Download:
At the beginning of the match, the Pokemon analyzes the opponent and downloads data that lets it deal more damage. This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage boost on the offense that strikes an opponent's weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher Defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher Special Defense. For ties, Special Attack is raised.) This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Analytic:
If this Pokemon attacks after its target during an action, its attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

Round 1!

Heya people, welcome to battle etc. Both Leader and Challenger send out their a-mons to the fray in a somewhat...risky move, mainly for the one ordering first. But hey maybe it works out. Or not.

Also, do you people remember when the leader haxxed the shit out of waterwarrior's challenge when they battled? And he ended up losing? Well, let's hope the exact opposite happens here, but he was the one haxed, with a miss and two flinches ._. .

ya hallo thar uphill battle.

Reflect ~ Substitute (25) ~ Focus Punch+Focus Punch

the one cool thing about being haxed to hell is that you have a shitton of energy to burn when you're trying to make up the difference

Round 2!

Eviolite Porygon2 proves to be a tough nut to crack when you don't have fighting mons or mons with Knock Off. While Zoan managed to deal good damage with a Focus Punch combination, that costed a lot of energy and a cooldown action, while porygon2 is enjoying that lovely defense boost from Skull Bash.

While this is not even close to the finish, the challenger has a considerable advantage thanks to bloody hax and the Leader now has an uphill battle ahead of him.

Although he sure has the team and skills to face this ordeal. The challenger will need to keep the game up at all times and not let the lack of experience show its ugly face.

Round 3!

The challenger manages to captalize on that early hax and secured a very nice advantage vs the Leader. Charizard fainted and now Texas's only hope of defeating Greninja and Porygon2 is with a Damage Race is great wit.

Or luck. Since it is always on the table.

Round 4!

Ah the good and old Damage Race.

The Leader abuses a substitution from the challenger with a...lets say... dubious combo to win the damage race. Except that this specific combo isn't the most powerful one, but it is good somewhat. That coupled with rivalry (oh the irony) and expert belt meant reasonable damage.

The challenger is still winning the overall match statwise though. And now that he will order last, versus a Haxorus that is cooling down, his advantage will probably be enhanced. Until the obvious last pokemon from the leader comes and turns the beat around. Now that will be a lovely sight :D.

for the record the combo is completely legit in my eyes. both attacks are used by the either the arm like appendages, or by the axe head to chop things

and damn what's with pokes always being obvious last mons :/

cool down ~ earthquake ~ earthquake

if greninja has a substitute up a2, endure that action
if damaging evasive, dig that action

The combo is viable, that is why I had it work. But it is kinda iffy.

Round 5!

The challenger quickly dispatches Haxorus like we all expected, given the circumstances.

Also Texas is in kind of a pickle here. I would go on but I don't want to ruin the surprise of him choosing the third mon. But he will need to display trickery and wittiness that I have yet to see from this brute-force gym (from neither the leader, nor the many challengers that came here).

Round 6!

The Leader decides to piss off the ref with lousy orders, although they will only be awful if freeze.

But since murphy's law is a thing, of course it froze dragonite A1.

Behemoth ended up suffering a good beatdown even with multiscale. But he stuck with his orders and used Iron Head to defeat Greninja.

1 down two to go, I guess?

DATA:

ACTION 1!

Greninja used Blizzard! (-8en)
Crit: 16 (no)
Effect: 1 (murphy's law)
Duration: 1 (1a)
Damage: (11+3+2+1.5)*2.25*0.5= 19.6hp

Dragonite is frozen!

ACTION 2!

Greninja used Ice Beam! (-6en)
Crit: 16 (no)
Damage: (9+3+2+1.5)*2.25*0.5= 17.43hp

Dragonite used Iron Head! (-6en)
Crit: 14 (no)
Damage: (8+4.5+2)*1.5= 21.75hp
NOTE: This is the one and only warning. Next time you are too lazy to account for hax, and this goes for everybody in every battle, I will go with struggle. Post actions for all actions. Just "Iron Head" can be read as either "keep using iron head" or "iron head - nothing -nothing" and I prefer the second option.

Greninja fainted!
