PUSSY DESTROYER

Overview
########
As the only Pokemon with access to STAB Explosion other than Smeargle, Lickilicky isn't good just for that reason. It has good defensive stats with base 110 HP and base 95 defenses. That and access to Wish along with a big HP stat gives it a good way of recovery and makes it a good supporting option, being able to pass big Wishes to its teammates. Thanks to its ability, Oblivious, it's also immune to Taunt, meaning nothing can stop it from using Wish or Protect. Lickilicky also has a large movepool with colorful offensive and supportive options such as the aforementioned Wish, Heal Bell, Body Slam, Fire Blast, Fire Punch, Thunderbolt, Knock Off, Dragon Tail, Curse, Seismic Toss, and, of course, Explosion. However, with a large movepool comes slight four-moveslot syndrome. Additionally, Lickilicky faces competition from Aromatisse as a Wish passer with Aromatherapy support, but having access to Dragon Tail and Knock Off separates it from Aromatisse, as well as having more bulk in general.

Wish
########
name: Wish
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Heal Bell / Knock Off
move 4: Knock Off / Dragon Tail
ability: Oblivious
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
nature: Careful

Moves
========
Wish is used as a means of recovery for Lickilicky, and it's also used to support teammates with Lickilicky's large HP stat. Protect gives Lickilicky a guaranteed turn of Wish and Leftovers recovery, as well as scouting the opponent's move. The choice between Heal Bell and Knock Off ultimately depends on Lickilicky's teammates; if another Pokemon has Heal Bell or Aromatherapy, then Knock Off and Dragon Tail should be used. Otherwise, Heal Bell and either Knock Off or Dragon Tail is preferred to let Lickilicky act as a cleric. Knock Off is a good utility move that annoys a number of Pokemon and doesn't allow them to switch into Lickilicky for free, while Dragon Tail is used to phaze the opponent and rack up residual damage with the help of entry hazards in addition to preventing Pokemon from setting up. Body Slam can be used as a reliable STAB move, and it can help spread paralysis, while Seismic Toss can provide consistent damage.

Set Details
========
Maximum HP EVs are invested to have overall better bulk and bigger Wishes to pass, and maximum Special Defense investment with a Careful nature to take on threatening Pokemon such as Delphox, Moltres, and Yanmega. Leftovers is the item of choice for passive recovery, and it goes nicely with Protect for a free turn of HP gain. Oblivious is the chosen ability because it grants Lickilicky immunity to Taunt, which means Lickilicky can't be shut down by Pokemon such as Mega Banette and Golbat.

Usage Tips
========
Lickilicky can comfortably switch into the tier's most threatening special attackers such as without much trouble and threaten them with any of the attacking moves it has. Knock Off is used to remove items such as Life Orb and Choice Specs and cripple the opponent's Pokemon. Use Body Slam for its STAB and 30% chance of paralysis, or Seismic Toss for the consistent damage. Beware of Pokemon that carry a Choice item and Switcheroo or Trick, as Lickilicky doesn't appreciate being locked into one move. Wish can be used whenever Lickilicky or another teammate needs recovery, and Protect can be used to guarantee the Wish. However, the opponent can easily exploit an obvious Protect after Wish and use the opportunity to set up or get a free switch. All of Lickilicky's attacking moves—Knock Off, Dragon Tail, Seismic Toss, and Body Slam—are spammable and do not have many drawbacks unless the opponent's Pokemon is immune to them. Additionally, using Dragon Tail when entry hazards are on the field is preferred to shuffle the opponent's team and rack up residual damage.

Team Options
========
When talking about teammates for Lickilicky, the first thing that should pop up in anyone's mind is a Pokemon that resists Fighting-type moves, and as such, Granbull makes a fine teammate. Having Fairy typing along with Intimidate allows it to easily switch into most Fighting-types with ease and KO or threaten them out. Additionally, it can also use Heal Bell which can free up a moveslot for Lickilicky and Granbull also likes the Wish support Lickilicky provides. Physically defensive Aromatisse also does the same thing as it can also switch into most Fighting-types with ease and can carry Aromatherapy, which clears a moveslot for Lickilicky. Amoonguss is another good teammate because of its Poison typing, which lets it take on Fighting-types without much trouble, and has good synergy with Lickilicky as they both switch into the weaknesses of one another, with Lickilicky not having much trouble switching into most Fire-types that threaten Amoonguss.

Alomomola is a sturdy physical wall that goes well with Lickilicky in more defensively oriented teams for its ability to overwhelm most physical attackers, something Lickilicky struggles against, with Lickilicky being able to switch relatively easily into the special attackers that Alomomola has trouble with. Pokemon that like Wish support in general like having Lickilicky as a teammate, and those include Doublade, Meloetta, Rhyperior, and Registeel, among others. Additionally, entry hazard setters are good to have in conjunction with Dragon Tail, and for that reason, Roselia and Weezing are good teammates for their ability to set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes, respectively, and Weezing can also counter Fighting-types. Registeel and Rhyperior appreciate the Wish support Lickilicky brings and can set up Stealth Rock.

Choice Band
########
name: Choice Band
move 1: Return
move 2: Power Whip
move 3: Knock Off / Earthquake
move 4: Explosion
ability: Cloud Nine
item: Choice Band
evs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========
Return is a STAB move that hits everything that doesn't resist it decently hard, and Power Whip is a powerful coverage move that can dispose of Rhyperior and 2HKO Alomomola, allowing Lickilicky to muscle through those two sturdy walls. Knock Off is a good move to spam in general for its good neutral coverage in conjunction with the utility it brings in removing the target's item and crippling almost all Pokemon. Earthquake, on the other hand, can be used as another coverage move that can hit Pokemon such as Cobalion on the switch and Registeel while still hitting Doublade harder than Knock Off would. Explosion is a move that often takes the target down with Lickilicky, unless it's a very bulky physical wall, making it a good last-resort move.

Set Details
========
Choice Band might sound like a unusual item to use on Lickilicky, but it works very well because of its ability to dispose of certain Pokemon and the sheer surprise factor. An added bonus is having an extremely strong Explosion. Max Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible, while still having enough Speed investment to outspeed minimum Speed Alomomola. The rest is dumped into HP for more overall bulk.

Usage Tips
========
Return is Lickilicky's spammable move unless the opponent has a Pokemon that is immune to it or resists it, in which case predicting a little bit with a coverage move is best. If you're not sure what the opponent will do and can't predict their move, then going for Knock Off is the best play for its power and utility. Lickilicky can be used throughout the match, but bringing it out early-game is best for its ability to soften up or KO walls therefore giving its teammates an opportunity to sweep. Lickilicky can be easily overwhelmed by powerful attacks, so beware of that.

Team Options
========
Physically defensive Aromatisse handles the Fighting-type Pokemon that Lickilicky struggles with while also providing cleric support in Aromatherapy and Wish. Alomomola is also another Wish passer that's a good teammate to Lickilicky for its large Wishes and the ability to switch into most physical attackers without much trouble. As Choice Band Lickilicky can easily remove walls such as Alomomola and Rhyperior, sweepers that like those two Pokemon gone appreciate Lickilicky. Fletchinder, in particular, comes to mind as it struggles with those two Pokemon. Additionally, setup sweepers are also good teammates for that reason, and those can include Cobalion, Virizion, and Durant. Also, as Lickilicky can somewhat lure in some Fighting-types like Hitmonlee and Gurdurr and severely damage them, Pokemon that like those Fighting-types out of the field work with Lickilicky, such as Zoroark and Registeel. Finally, entry hazard support is very good to have with Choice Band Lickilicky to rack up as much damage as possible, and Stealth Rock setters include Rhyperior, Registeel, and Druddigon, while Spikes setters include Roselia and Qwilfish, who can also provide Toxic Spikes as well.

Other Options
########
Lickilicky has a number of other options that it could run, but sadly, almost all of them are done better by other Pokemon. Curse can be utilized along with Body Slam, Earthquake, and Rest with Leftovers, but it struggles against a lot of common Pokemon and is done better by Miltank. Lickilicky can use any of the coverage moves it has, such as Muddy Water, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Fire Blast, Thunder Wave is an option if paralysis support is needed, but Body Slam can already cover that. A physically defensive set could be ran, but Lickilicky can't handle physical attackers too well in general because of its weakness to Fighting-type moves. Finally, a weather support set can be used on weather-based teams with either Sunny Day or Rain Dance and Heat Rock or Damp Rock respectively. With Explosion, it can set weather up and then allow a teammate to come in safely without taking any damage.

Checks & Counters
########
**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types resist Knock Off, can hurt Lickilicky with super effective STAB moves, and Cobalion and Virizion even like a Justified boost.

**Offensive Pressure**: Offensive pressure from the physical side can hurt Lickilicky, especially coming from Pokemon such as Rhyperior, Exploud, Druddigon, and Escavalier. Entry hazards also pressure and hurt it, as it has no direct recovery besides Wish, which can be exploitable. If it lacks Dragon Tail, Lickilicky becomes setup fodder for Pokemon such as Doublade, Virizion, and Cobalion, which aren't threatened by Knock Off.

Needs Power Whip mention
eh it kinda goes under the "- any of Lickilicky's coverage moves, depending on what your team would benefit from" which is in OO, unless you mean mention it in the moves section, which I would need elaboration for.

I'd mention it as one of the moves that a possible cb set (that should go to oo) should run along with explosion return and one of knock off or something other to hit steels

I honestly haven't used likilicky but is as still a decent set? I can only imagine that it is because now it is no longer cockblocked by ghosts.

Last gen i used a very effective SubSD set that now with knock off is more effective against ghosts, could be something like:
Lickilicky@leftovers
252HP/252Atk/4Def
Adamant Nature
-Sub
-SD
-Knock Off
-Return

Is this worth a mention?

Yokatta...
Seismic Toss should probably get a slash on the Wish set. Hitting for consistent damage is always nice, especially when it is otherwise dependent on its unboosted base 85 Attack stat. I can imagine opposing Pokemon can set up Substitute on it otherwise. (cough cough Moltres)

Yeah I just tested a set with wishtect/dragon tail/knock off and often times it failed to honestly do anything besides wishtect and wishpass, which is its job yeah but it's also not doing any damage at all. I'm not sure about a seismic toss slash though, but I'm definitely mentioning it under moves.

Gonna take a full look at this later, just gonna put some suggestions for now.

Mention Alomomola as a good teammate for Lickilicky. Both of them are being pretty often on stall cores together so they'll often be paired up together regardless, and if i do say so myself they can be a big pain when put together. Alomomola takes pretty much any physical attack aimed it Lickilicky bar like ridiculously strong banded Close Combats, and vice versa for Lickilicky, who can take pretty much any special attack aimed at Alomomola despite lacking resistances. On top of this they form a rather annoying double with core which allows them to heal both each other and their teammates that much more efficiently. Pain in the ass core imo.

The same also applies to physically defensive Aromatisse, especially since Aroma's access to Aromatherapy frees up a moveslot for Lickilicky. Think Granbull but with less bulk and more double wish and cleric support.

I'd mention Doublade in checks and counters for Lickilicky as well, it might be phazed by dtail but it can still set up on Lickilicky even with Knock Off just because its so damn bulky. I'd also change the wording in the offensive pressure to show how it really pressures Lickilicky more: if Lickilicky is under constant pressure from hazards+powerful attacks, it has to choose whether it uses Wish to heal itself or heal its teammates, wasting turns and PP if it does the former and making Lickilicky buckle to the attacks that its supposed to be taking eventually if it does the latter.

Also, i'd like you to test both CB and Curse Lickilicky. Choice Band is still incredibly bulky even without full investment, and the ability to just straight up OHKO Rhyperior and 2HKO Alomomola thanks to Power Whip, as well as EXPLOSION might give it enough of a niche to deserve a full set. In the case of the latter i'd really like to see this tested. Its hard not to want to test a bulk up varient on something this damn bulky, especially considering that using Rest isn't a death sentence anymore like it was in BW. I'll put the sets below in hide tags.\

Lickilicky @ Choice Band
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Power Whip
- Knock Off / Earthquake / Fire Punch
- Explosion

Lickilicky @ Leftovers
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Body Slam
- Earthquake / Aqua Tail
- Rest / Explosion

Implemented Molk , also added the fact that it becomes set-up fodder if lacking dtail and Pokemon can easily set up on wishtect. I'll try to reword **Offensive Pressure** to reflect what you said too.

Molk I just saw your edit to the post, I'm testing Curse Lickilicky right now but in your set it has Cloud Nine, Oblivious is probably the better ability because taunt immunity and whatnot. Also, what are the speed EVs on the CB set for, outspeed mola?

Yeah the evs on CB lickilicky are to outspeed mola and 2HKO it with power whip. do w/e with the ability on the curse set imo. Either oblivious or cloud nine should work

Ok Molk I've tested Curse Lickilicky with curse/body slam/eq/rest briefly in the new ladder and I went against some cool players, I've noticed a lot of HO and Curse Lickilicky didn't really do too well with that. I wasn't using it on stall but I used balance. every HO nowadays has doublade and hitmonlee and both of them kinda walk over it, especially since even with EQ, Lickilicky can't do much to Doublade at +1 with it:

+1 4 Atk Lickilicky Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Doublade: 90-106 (27.9 - 32.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO....

while in return doublade can do a lot with +2 iron head:

+2 252+ Atk Doublade Iron Head vs. +1 252 HP / 0 Def Lickilicky: 178-210 (41.9 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

And it can't use Rest + curse to stall it out either cuz it'll just give blade 2 free turns. And against Hitmonlee, well:

252+ Atk Life Orb Reckless Hitmonlee High Jump Kick vs. +1 252 HP / 0 Def Lickilicky: 478-564 (112.7 - 133%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Not to mention that Lickilicky can't really setup or switch into any Pokemon that can commonly be found on HO. I haven't had much experience with it against other playstyles however, because HO is just too dominant rn lol.

I'm gonna try CB next on a new team maybe or just the same one.

I think CB should get a main set mention. Im on my phone so i cant elaborate much but pussy destroyer has great coverage and booming donks a lot of shit that would try to come in

Results after some brief testing with CB: I liked it a lot. It fits really well with phys defensive Aromatisse on bulky offense/balance and its coverage is just oh so godly. Sadly it suffers just a bit from 4MSS since it likes to have both knock off and eq, with the latter to hurt steels/fire types and the former because its knock off. I haven't had many chances to go boom yet but I imagine its strong.. especially since it did like 90% to tangrowth once.. and here are some calcs:

252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 310-366 (76.7 - 90.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola: 417-492 (78 - 92.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Gligar: 234-276 (70 - 82.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Golbat: 303-357 (85.5 - 100.8%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

I might make it a main set, thoughts?

If it worked out for you i'd definitely add it on as a set. As i mentioned in my previous post it has more than enough advantages to seperate itself from other CB Normal-types imo. Most notably access to Power Whip to smack Alomomola and Rhyperior hard, the insane amount of extra bulk that makes even Bouffalant look frail, and of course EXPLOSION. Curse looks fine in OO for now, i'll prolly test it on the ladder later to see how my experience is with it.

Uhh I think that this looks alright, make a mention of pokemon that benefit from the removal of opposing fighting types in teammates for CB, because many will switch in expecting the support set only to take heavy damage from CB Licky

atomicllamas I made a mention of that, but do you have any Pokemon in particular? right now I only listed registeel and I really can't think of anything else lol. I also added hazards support in team options (dunno how I forgot that one) but I'm not sure of listing accelgor/qwilfish/omastar as spikers, since those are often in HO teams that CB lickilicky doesn't fit too well on. thoughts?

Qwilfish works well on balance and can switch into fighters, definitely teammate worthy. As for things that like this, Zoroark appreciates the removal of fighting types, and can aid Lickylicky by luring in Gligar / Rhyperior / Esca and disposing of them.

Another Spiker to make note of is Roselia. She may not have as much defensive synergy with Lickilicky, but she can easily come in on status moves aimed at Lickilicky thanks to Natural Cure and can utilize Sleep Powder to possibly give Licky more switch-in chances. Anyway, llamas covered the few things I saw, so
