while on the topic: I present the coolest buff of any poke in stabmons:

Zekrom @ Leftovers / Life orb / insert item of choice
Ability: Teravolt
Evs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Lonely / Naive / Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Bolt Strike
- Outrage
- Draco meteor / Roost

Scarfkrom is one of the best pokes in the ubers tier. It checks so many common pokes that are big time threats, such as lugia, ho-oh, Yveltal, you get the point. Well now you have to make a sacrifice. take one turn to get that same speed...and get +1 Attack. Zekrom kills so much stuff unboosted already, at +1 it just wrecks shit. its great defensive typing also allows you to get to +2 against many teams teams and at +2 this motherfucker rips apart teams like mega charizard X. overall DD krom is just as good as stabmons ekiller and a threat every team should be well prepared for.

i never thought i would see the day ekiller would be outclassed.

Arceus @ white herb / life orb
Ability: Multitype
252 Spd / 252 Spa / 4 Atk
Rash Nature
- Shell Smash
- Boomburst
- Earth Power
- Extremespeed / Shadow Ball / filler

Not much to say here other than stab +2 Boomburst. It has the ability to nuke everything. Recover is optional in the final slot over Extremespeed if you use white herb, as it allows you to be a bulky sweeper. teams that have no fear and just want to wreck can use life orb to tear apart teams like a hot knife through butter. Not a lot to say, this thing is so difficult to take out due to its bulk and almost nothing can tank a hit and manage to neuter it. You NEED chansey for ubers now.

Feel free to organize some STABmons Ubers matches but make sure you limit it to this thread. For now I'm not planning on expanding but I'm not opposed to the discussion in here.

thanks eevee.

while on the topic, here is a couple of support sets:

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
Evs: 248 / HP / 252 Def or Sdef / 8 Satk
Bold / Careful Nature
- Defog
- Oblivion Wing
- Heart Swap
- Toxic / Psystrike / Roost / Anything

A customizable support set that can tank literally anything it wants. Multiscale, along with its amazing defenses, mean it can live almost any hit feasable and oblivion wing damage right back. Heart swap makes this a sweep stopper, taking away their boosts and stopping them in their tracks. Lugia can also serve as a defogger now, it doesnt need to ruin itself by running pressure in order to run Defog. The last slot is up to you. You could use toxic to further neuter sweepers and to spread status, you can also use roost for the additional recovery or even run Psystrike to have a hard hitting stab that can beat special tanks. You can even run whirlwind in that slot if you want, allowing you to phase things in a pinch. Its customizable to your team and depends on the benefits it would bring.

Yveltal @ Leftovers
Ability: Dark Aura
Evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spa
Bold Nature
- Dark Void
- Parting shot / Topsy-Turvy
- Oblivion Wing
- Defog / Roost / Utility

Yveltal is the new sableye. its bulk is amazing due to its high HP stat, and it allows it to use parting shot or topsy-turvy on many setup sweepers making it a good defensive pivot. it can easily take back damage with oblivion Wing, but roost is nice because oblivion Wing doesnt hit that hard in the current ubers metagame unboosted. Dark void is also great for it, it can put sweepers to sleep, recover HP, neuter them, and then just switch out with parting shot. Its just rinse and repeat for stall teams. this is a threat offense needs to prepare for.

also can sableye learn copycat? if it can i completely broke it lol.

Sableye @ Macho Brace
Ability: Prankster
252 HP / 252 Spa / 4 Def
Brave Nature
Ivs: 0 Spd
- Copycat
- Dark Void
- Phantom Force
- Filler

welp if it works unprepared teams just lose. wont be too broken with all the normal spam though.
No, it doesn't learn it normally and Copycat is a Normal move, so STABmons doesn't gift it either.

Arceus @ white herb / life orb
Ability: Multitype
252 Spd / 252 Spa / 4 Atk
Rash Nature
- Shell Smash
- Boomburst
- Earth Power
- Extremespeed / filler

Giratina-O walls you unless you run Shadow Ball.

I was playing around on the ladder with a fun team (under an alt) and came up with a cool way to screw with your opponent:

+Doom Desire
+Future Sight
+King's Shield
=SPAM

In a metagame where setting up is a big deal but often comes with a cost (think HP halved with Belly Drum and -1/-1 with Shell Smash), Doom Desire and Future Sight will make your opponent think again if they're expecting one of those moves to hit on a turn when they want to set up. King Shield punishes almost every physical attacker and with Skarmory it's essentially a surefire check to Diggersby even with Wild Charge. King Shield has the added bonus of buying time while Doom Desire and Future Sight wait to hit. Protect does this too, but the idea with King's Shield is to cause a lot of switches because of the Attack drop.

Another bonus with running multi-turn attacks is how Speed is pretty much not an issue for your Pokemon since the attacks hit at the end of the second turn after they're used. After you allot the amount of EVs you want in Special Attack, you're free to spread the rest around in bulk to soak up enemy attacks while you fire off your high-powered moves.

Doom Desire+King's Shield was probably first popularized on Heatran, but I've seen it elsewhere, too. Here are a few things that I think can abuse this strategy well:

Jirachi has the trifecta of moves up above: STAB Doom Desire and Future Sight plus access to King's Shield. Wish is a good recovery move to throw in there between attacking and using King's Shield. Wish is also great because you can take advantage of your opponent switching as they find a resist for the attacks and get a free turn to burn. Props because it learns the two attacks naturally.

Empoleon has been getting more use on the ladder from what I've seen and it's no wonder. It shuts down a lot of threats with its great typing, can run Defog to clear hazards, and has a decent Special Attack and usable bulk. Doom Desire hits pretty hard even off uninvested 111 Special Attack while King's Shield and Scald really punish any physical attacker trying to take advantage of its weaker Defense. Plus if you want, Roar can push out the Pokemon your opponent switches in to take the Doom Desire, further adding to their frustration.

Magnezone may not be common in STABmons and its understandable why with so many good Ground-types. The nice thing about it though is it has the same Special Attack stat as Heatran but typically Magnezone will want to invest in it. Volt Switch helps get it out of a bad matchup after a turn of Doom Desire and King's Shield, letting you either take advantage of the opponent's switch to avoid Doom Desire or bring in your own Pokemon to handle the threat if it stays in.

Slowking and Slowbro are other uncommon Pokemon in STABmons, but with usable Special Attack, Future Sight will still be doing a good chunk of damage. The nice thing about them is they can abuse Regenerator (often with an Assault Vest), so after a Future Sight and Protect (without Assault Vest), they can switch out to heal up any damage they took while setting up the attack. Like Empoleon, STAB Scald helps to mitigate physical attackers. Their typing also allows them to act as a solid check to just about any Keldeo, too.

Aegislash has the right moves to really screw with your opponent's head. Doom Desire off 150 Special Attack is just painful and only things with quad resists or solid special bulk are going to want to take it. Another multi-turn attack it can abuse is Shadow Force. After you fire off Doom Desire you can activate Shadow Force to disappear for a turn to buy time and then strike with a 120 base power attack followed by the Doom Desire damage. Talk about a 1-2 punch! Of course, Normal types are immune to Shadow Force, but as they switch in to take it, they meet the Doom Desire to the face. Funnily enough, even though King's Shield is its signature attack, I've run sets without it because Shift Gear exists now.

Celebi often functions in a more supportive role with Spore and Aromatherapy, but it can run a quasi-King Shield+multi turn combo, too. After it uses Future Sight, you can throw up a Spiky Shield which will damage the foe instead of lowering their Attack. This means your Future Sight has a better chance to KO them when it hits! Combo that further with Leech Seed and wait for the name calling to commence.

Some things to keep in mind:
  • You can't stack Doom Desire with Future Sight.
  • You need to cover yourself for 2 turns before damage hits.
  • Use the time provided wisely. Often the opponent will want to switch in something to resist the hit. Be ready to hit them when they do or plan your own switch.
  • King's Shield currently has weird mechanics on the simulator. My Jirachi took Life Orb damage when it used King's Shield. King's Shield also fails the same turn a faster opponent uses it. That means you can use it yourself the next turn for free (similarly how Protect fails if the opponent switches.)
  • King's Shield only blocks damage! You can be statused while it's up. It also only lowers the opponent's Attack if their move makes contact. Earthquake for example does not.
  • King's Shield doesn't work in succession with Protect/Detect/Spiky Shield/etc.
  • Doom Desire is 140 base power while Future Sight is 120.
  • Protect does not prevent the damage unless it's used the same turn as Doom Desire/Future Sight. If they try to use Protect the turn the damage hits, they will take damage no matter what.
  • The damage is calculated the turn the move is used. That means if you use it while your opponent has a Diggersby in but later switch in Chansey, it will damage the Chansey according to the calculation used with Diggersby.
Well that's it for now! See how these work out for you and feel free to share your own ideas!

added it under filler. even on stallier teams i find giratina somewhat rare in regular ubers and with its lack of an upgrade it will probably be somewhat rare.
It all comes down to just how powerful that Arceus set is. If it's top tier then people will run specialised pokemon like Giratina to counter it.

Two additional things to note:

Spiky Shield does block status, which is why it is always used over protect in BH.

Also, you can boost after you use Doom instead of before and it will still increase your damage.

Thanks Kit Kasai .

Some things I wanted to include but forgot were how to fit these Doom Desire/Future Sight abusers on one team. The difficulty comes from their shared types, Steel and Psychic respectively. To include more than one Steel-type with Doom Desire/King's Shield is to augment your weakness to Fire, Fighting, and Ground. The same with Psychic: you add more Bug, Dark, and Ghost weaknesses. One core I found covers itself fairly well but still lacks the necessary resists to Dark and Ghost. Dark is also immune to Future Sight, so you'll need to consider how you will shuffle them out when they try to take the hit.

This core is built around the Fire+Water+Grass concept by taking advantage of the former dual core of CeleTran and adding a Water-type, Slowking. With the buffs to Dark and Ghost in XY, Heatran no longer resists those attacks, unfortunately. The synergy this team provides is still pretty solid, however, as long as you can find a place to sponge Dark and Ghost attacks (Knock Off holds this trio back the most IMO.)

Here's a list of their weaknesses and coverage:
  • Heatran is weak to Water, Ground, and Fighting. Celebi can take all these hits well while Slowking can even take some Ground attacks but usually prefers to absorb only Water and Fighting.
  • Slowking is weak to Electric, Grass, Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Celebi can take the Electric and Grass attacks while Heatran can stomach virtually any Bug moves thanks to a quad resist.
  • Celebi is weak to Ice, Ghost, Dark, Bug, Flying, Fire, and Poison. Heatran shrugs off Ice and Bug (both quad resists), takes nothing from Fire and Poison, and can handle most Flying attacks. Slowking can also take Ice and Fire relatively well.

A Water-type that isn't weak to Dark or Ghost or even resists them could sub in for Slowking, but the idea is to spam Doom Desire/Future Sight and take advantage of smart switching, so if you sub you lose one leg of the strategy. This core will also need other Pokemon that can attack on the physical side since these three are all focusing on special attacks. This Pokemon should be able to stomach a Knock Off and not mind other Dark and Ghost damage. Tyranitar is a good candidate because it can't lose its Mega stone, resists Dark and Ghost, and hits on the physical side. Its type synergy also mixes well with the core because they can absorb its weaknesses to Water and Fighting (Slowking); Water, Fighting, Ground, and Grass (Celebi); and Fairy, Steel, Grass, and Bug (Heatran).

Now I present to you the FutureDoom core:

Heatran @ Leftovers / Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SDef / 12 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Doom Desire
- King's Shield
- Sacred Fire / Searing Shot
- Earth Power / Toxic / Roar

Slowking @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Future Sight
- Scald
- Psystrike
- Dragon Tail / Fire Blast (Yawn is an alternative to shuffle the opponent's team but you'll need to drop the Assault Vest)

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 236 HP / 252 SAtk / 20 Def
Modest Nature
- Future Sight
- Spiky Shield
- Leech Seed
- U-turn / Aromatherapy

If you add Tyranitar to the team, I recommend you use one of the next two slots to absorb Sleep. Celebi is already immune to Spore, but something to take Dark Void is advised, such as a Guts user like Ursaring. This team also doesn't have hazard control, so it would be wise to fit in a Defog or Rapid Spin user such as mixed Thundurus. Add your own tweaks and ideas to the thread if you try this team out and want to share. Have fun!

Pokemon
Type: Flying / Steel
Base Stats: 65 / 80 / 140 / 40 / 70 / 70
Ability: Keen Eye / Sturdy / Weak Armor
Important move additions: King's Shield, Metal Burst

Thanks to its unique typing and immense physical bulk, Skarmory makes a good check to most of the Normal spam common in STABmons while also providing a surefire check to Scizor. The most important addition to its movepool is King's Shield, which it can abuse better than most other Steel-types because it's already immune to Earthquake, so attackers will have to resort to a move that makes contact to try and damage it. Along with its already dependable movepool of Stealth Rock and Spikes, Whirlwind, Roost, Brave Bird, and even Taunt, it makes a fantastic supporter. Defog no longer suffers from any illegalities, but generally Skarmory prefers to set hazards, not remove them. Finally, the combo of Sturdy and Metal Burst can take out a powerful attacker as long as you can keep Skarmory at full health to survive the hit (which King's Shield helps with.)

(Anything I missed?)

Not a major thing, but it can run and use Metal Burst effectively (better than Aggron imo because of Roost, if you somehow find a chance to do that, although not as many weaknesses) thanks to Sturdy. Could be a decent way to wreck things like Zard Y

I thought about Metal Burst, but it's really unreliable because of Rocks. I guess King's Shield helps you get back to Sturdy mode, however. I suppose I can add it as another option.

Just a heads up, Diance is released. Get ready to transition Stone Edge to Diamond Storm....

EDIT: Looking at Diance's resists and movepool, I'm inclined to see it as a nice check to some stuff like Zard-Y, Ursaring and Kanga without Earthquake, and if it comes in on Zard, it gets a nice boost to Moonlight.

Alright, I am reserving defensive Landorus-Therian and offensive Landorus-Therian.

Landorus-Therian ( Defensive )
Type: Flying / Ground
Base Stats: 89 / 145 / 90 / 105 / 80 / 91
Ability: Intimidate
Important Move Additions: Roost / Spikes / Feather Dance

Landorus-Therian has always been a bulky pokemon, but never a true wall due to lack of reliable recovery. This all changes in STABmon, giving him access to a better defensive movepool. He finally gets recovery in Roost, which can also lessen his weakness to Ice moves. It also gives him the longevity he lacked before and now lets him stay around and wall without being worn down. He can use Feather Dance, which renders physical attackers basically useless when combined with Intimidate. This combination puts their Attack at a multiplier of 0.4, which is laughable in terms of power. After he renders them useless, they can be set up on with one of the numerous set up sweepers in STABmon. It also allows Lando-T to easily find turns use Spikes, a newfound move which lets it stack up layers of constant damage while it walls attackers. This Spikes support can be crucial to break Sashes and rack up extra damage that could put enemies in OHKO or 2HKO range. Stealth Rocks can also be used, but are not as ideal in some scenarios as Spikes can be stacked.

Landorus-Therian ( Offensive )
Type: Flying / Ground
Base Stats: 89 / 145 / 90 / 105 / 80 / 91
Ability: Intimidate
Important Move Additions: Thousand Arrows ( Unreleased ) / Tailwind / Brave Bird

Landorus-Therian is not just a bulky wall, but also a threatening attacker. 145 Base Attack should never be dismissed, but sometimes is due to lack of a decent physical Flying STAB, lackluster speed, and no way to get past Skarmory. These claims are not true in STABmon however. While Thousand Arrows is not currently released, it will give Lando-T an easier way to get past pokemon like Skarmory and Rotom-W. Thousand Arrows has the effect of hitting non-grounded pokemon, while behaving exactly like a slightly weaker Earthquake. This lets it lure in former counters and dispatch them as if they were never there. Both Rotom-W and Skarmory are 2HKOed with this new trick. Sadly, many pokemon out speed and are able to ruin its day. While it did have Rock Polish to solve this, it now has access to Tailwind. While Tailwind does not last as long as Lando-T is in, it can also support teammates, especially if Lando-T is acting as an offensive pivot with U-Turn. Finally, Brave Bird gives it powerful dual STABs that have great coverage when factoring in the effect of Thousand Arrows.

After some heated discussion and arm-twisting in the backroom that is the STABmons council, we reached a decision regarding Ubers in the metagame.

Darkrai has escaped the confines of his prison and is now free to run wild in the STABmons metagame! Will the dark lord make a splash in an already crowded space of Dark Void and Spore spam? Is his unique ability Bad Dreams enough to let him stand out? Or will he take a pivot role to abuse his solid 125 base Speed and run Parting Shot as a sendoff while he flees from battle, laughing maniacally? Stay tuned to find out!

(The recent Deoxys bans were also freed since they were no where as potent in STABmons as standard OU. That means you can continue to enlist Deoxys-Speed and Deoxys-Defense in your lineup. Please expect these changes to take effect after the next server restart.)

Reserving: offensive - Mega garchomp, ditto and support chancey

Unfixable

Mega Garchomp
Typre: Dragon / Ground
Ability: Sand force
Base stats: 108 / 170 / 115 / 120 / 95 / 92
Important move additions: Dragon dance, bonemerang

After a dragon dance, garchomp mega can outspeed and ohko or severly dent almost any pokemon in the tier. Bonemerang lets you get passed every sash users such as bibarel/diggersby and brakes subs. 108/115 defensive bulk lets you tank strong priority attacks (252+ Atk Life Orb Huge Power Diggersby Extreme Speed vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Garchomp: 196-231 (54.7 - 64.5%) ) and 120 Special attack coupled with fire blast / Flamethrower let's you get passed defensive walls like skarmory / gourgeist super / ferrothorn... It is very difficult to counter megachomp and good bulk coupled with low damage on entry hazards lets you switch in and out a lot.

Ditto

Type: normal
Ability: imposter
Base stats: 48 / 48 / 48 / 48 / 48 / 48
Same role in every tier, but with the major use of setup sweepers in stabmons, ditto becomes extremely annoying, scarf is the required item letting only slurpuff outspeed you.

Chansey
Type: normal
Ability: natural cure / serene grace / Healer
Base stats: 250 / 5 / 5 / 35 / 105 / 50
Important move additions: glare, transform, rapid spin, shell smash, belly drum, baton pass

It can have the same role as it has in OU with a few extras, rapid spin let's you take off entry hazards, glare to cripple sweepers (even ground types). The main keys chancey has is transform, as with it, if a pokemons starts to setup and you anticipate and transform (requiering that you're slwer of course) you have a sweeper with an amazing bulk.
Additionaly, chancey can also baton pass the 2 best boosting moves in the game, belly drum and shell smash. Baton pass also helps with momentum when passing wish.
I would also mention (but not recomand) the fact that chancey can transform into a pokemon boosting its defenses and beat him with the help of the lucky punch item.
