spooky scary skellingtons:
Overview
########

  • Unique defensive typing
  • Resistances to flying and rock
  • Possesses good defensive stats
  • Access to useful status moves like Thunderwave and Toxic.
  • Vulnerable to special SE sweepers

Defensive Lead Support
########
name:Avian Pancake
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Discharge
move 3: Earth Power/Scald
move 4: Rest/Thunder Wave/Toxic
ability: Static
item: Leftovers
evs: 252HP/168Def/88SpDef
nature:Bold

Moves
========
  • Stealth Rock to give extra hazard support to teammates
  • Discharge so Stunfisk is still able to paralyze even after Taunt
  • Earth Power as a coverage move for electric types that dont get paralyzed
  • Scald as another option to get a burn chance on pokemon that do not get paralyzed, also coverage on ground types
  • Thunderwave/Toxic as status options to help support teammates
  • Rest as a recovery option
Set Details
========
  • Mixed investment allows Stunfisk to take hits from both sides
  • Static for added paralyze chance
  • Leftovers for gradual recovery
Usage Tips
========

  • Note that this set is primarily a supporting role
  • The priority of the set is to set up rocks and then to inflict status
  • Instead, mainly inflict status on the team and let sweepers take care of the weakened team

Team Options
========

  • Sweepers like Zangoose and Feraligatr appreciate the weakening of pokemon by status
  • Ghost types like Golurk and Mismagius to block spinners
  • Pokemon like Ludicolo, Sceptile, and Mantine can switch in on Water/Ground types and increase Stunfisk's longevity
  • Heal Bell/Aromatherapy should be used if Rest is being used on Stunfisk

Other Options
########
  • Yawn for phasing
  • Electroweb to decrease speed, but paralyzing does the job better
  • Infestation to do chip damage
  • Sludge Bomb/Wave for coverage

Checks & Counters
########
  • **Special SE Attackers**: Pokemon like Jynx, Samurott, Sceptile, and Lilligant are all able to easily take out Stunfisk with powerful SE STAB moves.
  • **Taunt**: Taunt prevents Stunfisk from guaranteeing a paralyze with Thunder Wave and stops Stealth Rock.
  • **Special Walls**: Special walls like Audino and Togetic have enough bulk to withstand a hit from Stunfisk and negate Stunfisk's presence with moves like Rest and Heal Bell.
  • **Heal Bell**: Heal Bell renders all of Stunfisk's status spam worthless.

Overview
########

Stunfisk has a very good, unique Ground / Electric typing which gives it key resistances to common Flying- and Rock-type moves. Additionally, it possesses the base stats required to be able to be used as a good defensive Pokemon. Stunfisk also has access to certain supporting status moves. However, Stunfisk has its flaws. Stunfisk is vulnerable to special sweepers that hit it super effectively, such as Jynx, Sceptile, and Samurott.

Defensive Support
########
name: Defensive Support
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Rest / Toxic
move 3: Discharge
move 4: Earth Power / Scald
ability: Static
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpDef
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Stealth Rock is the obvious choice for hazard support to assist sweepers on the team. Toxic is an option that hinders the opponent by inflicting poison. Rest can be used for recovery if there is a Heal Bell or Aromatherapy user on the team, as Stunfisk is pretty useless if it is asleep. Because all of these moves are rendered useless by Taunt, Stunfisk needs Scald or Discharge to still have a chance to inflict status upon the opponent even when under the effects of Taunt. Earth Power is an option that allows Stunfisk to be able to hit Electric-types, which cannot be paralyzed.

Set Details
========

Mixed defensive EVs allow Stunfisk to withstand hits from both the physical and special side. Meanwhile, Static is the only ability Stunfisk should use. It doesn't need Limber as Stunfisk is already immune to being paralyzed by its typing, and Sand Veil is banned because of the evasion clause. Static does grant an extra chance to paralyze the opponent when it makes contact. Leftovers is the best item choice on Stunfisk, as it appreciates extra recovery.

Usage Tips
========

This set's primary function is to assist the team's sweepers by afflicting status on threats and setting up Stealth Rock. That being said, your first goal when sending out Stunfisk should be to set up Stealth Rock. When that's done, Stunfisk's objective is to wear down opponents with status or attacks. Always keep in mind when using Stunfisk that it is one of the slowest things in the tier with base 32 Speed.

Team Options
========

Slower, powerful Pokemon such as Feraligatr, Samurott, Luxray, Ursaring, and Zangoose greatly benefit from Stunfisk's paralysis support. The use of Ghost-types is recommended to block Rapid Spin. Pokemon such as Sceptile, Mantine, and Ludicolo all are able to switch in on the Water-type and Ground-type attacks that Stunfisk is weak to and retaliate with powerful super effective STAB moves.

Other Options
########

Other options include Yawn as an option to phaze opponents and wear them down faster with the damage from Stealth Rock. Thunder Wave is also an option but is redundant alongside Static and Discharge. Infestation can be used to deal chip damage and trap the opponent. Finally, Sludge Bomb or Sludge Wave can be used as coverage options against Fairy-types.

Checks & Counters
########
**Special Attackers with Super Effective Moves**: Pokemon such as Jynx, Samurott, Sceptile, and Lilligant are all able to easily take out Stunfisk with their powerful super effective STAB moves.
**Taunt**: Taunt stops Stealth Rock, Toxic, and Rest.
**Special Walls**: Special walls like such as Audino and Togetic have enough bulk to take a hit from Stunfisk and negate its presence with moves such as Rest and Heal Bell.
**Heal Bell**: Heal Bell renders the status spread by Stunfisk worthless.

-For the defensive lead set you should have rest / with toxic and thunder wave. When running a heal beller rest allows for good recovery where as before it only really uses lefties. Personally I find thunderwave pretty redundant as you already have the 30% with discharge and the 30% with static.
-With the EV's running a mixed spread can be beneficial as it will allow it to live hits on both sides of the scale barring some SE. I ran 252/168+/88 which worked pretty well but a more ideal spread could probably be found through calcing a little bit.
-rocks is the main priority of this set, so when you say dont make attacking a priority, if they already have rocks up then attacking with discharge for paralyzation you get both damage and most likely the para.
-With rest you should mention in team options that using a heal beller is important
-instead of specifically mentioning Audino, do Special walls in general because a lot of them either have access to wish/recover or they have access to a status like toxic which hurts the fisk if you arent running rest.
Was my premier check to smogon bird :]

Still need to put in Heal Bell/Aromatherapy user under team options.
Under the special walls in checks/counters I'm unsure what Rest has to do with anything so take that out "presence with attributes like Rest and Heal Bell."
If you do those things consider it [QC: 2/3]

Run Away With Me
-I would unslash Thunder Wave as it seems slightly redundant alongside both Static and Discharge; not to mention that Stunfisk already has a small case of 4MSS and would rather be running toxic, rest, or another coverage move.
-Also remove all mention of elecroweb from OO, it's just bad lol
-Lastly try to mention that slower, more powerful pokemon such as Gatr, Samurott, Luxray, Ursarang Zangoose, etc would benefit from the Paralysis support. You kinda mentioned it with status aiding sweeps, but make sure to directly mention that it's the slowness of para helping them.

No specs set makes me sad, but sure, once everything else stated above has been implemented consider it [QC 3/3]

Pretty sure Sand Veil is not banned, what with Cacturne rearing its head and whatnot (also default ability Sandslashes can still be used on ladder).
