Abra returns to the metagame with it's staggering base 105 special attack, the highest in the tier, that only tyingies with Solosis. For a pokemon that spends most of its time sleeping, Abra sure isis extremely fast, reaching the invaluable 19 speed, which allowings it to outspeed the majority of the metagame. While the generation shift brought on a lot of new dDark -types, it also granted Abra the new fFairy -type attack, Dazzling Gleam. Now, Abra doesn't have to run the weak hlackluster Hidden pPower for coverage, allowing it to maim the dDark -types who would otherwise give it nightmares. Abra's ability, Magic Guard, allows it to effectively utilize a Focus Sash to become an effective revenge killer, hitting a good amount of threats super- effectively.

However, Abra's psychic typing and downright terrible defenses really limit what it can do, as it has to be on constantly be on look out for Sucker Punch users and scarfed pokemon, who can easily put it to rest with, even witheir neutral attacks.

Attacker
==============
name: Attacker
Move 1: Psychic
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Dazzling Gleam / Hidden Power Fighting
move 4: Substitute / Protect
ability: Magic Guard
item: Focus Sash / Life Orb
EVs: 240 Spa / 200 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
=====
Psychic is Abra's trusty STAB move, beingas it is both powerful and reliable. It allows Abra to revenge kill fFighting- or pPoison -type threats. Shadow Ball is an important for hittingtool in Abra's arsenal as it hits Misdreavus for super effective damage. It is also neutral to sSteel -types, who that would otherwise wall Abra's two other two attacks. Dazzling Gleam is Abra'Its newest move and, Dazzling Gleam allows it to hit the dDark -types who are immune to it's STAB and resist Shadow Ball. However, Hidden Power Fighting is still a good choice, letting it super effectively hit Pawniard and Houndour super effectively, who resist fas they are only neutral to Fairy -type attacks. Protect should only be used if Focus Sash is used as well. It grants Abra protection from Fake Out users, who threaten to break its sash. If Life Orb is used, Substitute is the better option, due to instead of Protect, as Abra's natur is prone tof forcing a lot ofmany switches. It also allows it to dodge Sucker Punch.

Set Details
========
This set is designed to hit very hard, very and fast, while utilizing Abra's fantastic coverage and speed to KO or revenge kill a multitude of pokemon. With Mmaximum investment and a positive nature, Abra hits the coveted 19 speed, letting it outspeed a slew of threatening pokemon, as well as tyallowing it to tie with Misdreavus. The Life Orb set can 2HKO most pokemon that the Focus Sash set cannot. Abra will also not take any recoil from the item, courtesy because of Magic Guard. The purpose of this set is to hit dangerously hard and escape fastquickly. The Focus Sash set, while notably weaker, allows Abra to abusutilize its great speed to revenge kill set-up sweepers who could otherwise plow through teams with ease. Focus Sash ensures that Abra cannot be OHKO'ed since it is immune to anything other than direct damage.

Usage Tips
========
Due to Abra's abysmal defenses, it should never be directly switching in to direct attacks. Therefore, pProtect is still useful on the Life Orb set, as it giving ites Abra the opportunity to check for scarfers and Fake Out users. The Focus Sash set is used as a fail-safe option against set up sweepers, since they cannot directly OHKO itAbra without prior damage.

Team Options
==========
Abra works well on teams that needrequire a powerful and fast attacker. Both bulky and offensive teams alike will appreciate Abra, whoas it can break through walls thanks to Magic Guard and it's high powered attacks. Despite access to Dazzling Gleam, Abra still sincerely needs teammates who can handle dDark -types well. Fighting -types, in particular, resist the Dark-type attacks and can threaten special walls likesuch as Munchlax and Porygon. The new fFairy -type also works well in this position, beingas it is able to counter most dDark -types. Abra's poor defenses makes it near impossible to directly switch in, so slow U-turners or Volt Switchers, like such as Chinchou or Nosepass, can get Abra in safely. U-turn, a bug move, also keeps dDark -types awt bay.

Other Options
==========
Subsitute is can be useful on Abra, considering how it much it lures Sucker Punch users. However, it can prove to be unreliable and Abra is too frail to set it up in any other situation. Abra also gets Charge Beam to deal a littminiscule amount of damage and boost its sSpecial aAttack, but Abra is so frail that it's generally not worth it. This is also the case with Calm Mind. Abra can set up Dual Screens, and has a fast eEncore to help it set up the screens. Abra also has access to Psyshock to catch Munchlax off guard, but Little Cup is a very physically defensive metagame, and it misses a guaranteed OHKO on some important pokemon, such as like Timuburr, if Abra is not running Life Orb. A scarf set with Trick could be interesting, and is useful for revenge killing faster threats like Dragon Dance Scraggy and other scarfers.

Checks & Counters
==============
**Dark Types**: Dark types like Pawniard, Stunky, and Houndour are capable of giving Abra a headache with their immunity to pPsychic-type attacks and neutrality to fFairy -type attacks. They put a lot of pressure on Abra with their super effective attacks, most notabespecially the nasty Sucker Punch. Carvanha, while also frail, can stall out sSpeed boosts with pProtect until it is able to outspeed Abra and cCrunch for the KO.

**Munchlax**: Munchlax has enough special bulk to eat virtually everything Abra can launch at it, including Hidden Power Fighting. It is also capable of trapping Abra with pPursuit or slowing it down with Body Slam.

**Misdreavus**: Misdreavus reaches a speed tie with Abra, who can't KO with Shadow Ball. Misdreavus' ghost STAB is always enough to take it down.

**Scarfed Pokemon**: ProvidedAs long as Abra has lost its Sash, scarfed pokemon will outspeed Abra and abustake advantage of its low defenses to get an easy KO.

**Paralysis**: Due to Abra's reliance on speed, being paralyzed greatly hinders its ability to perform. Slowpoke and Porygon can survive any of Abra's attacks and spread Thunder Wave, while ultimately healing any lost health back with Regenerator or Recover respectively.

**Sticky Web**: Magic Guard does not protect against the speed boost drop and the bug Bug-types who can set up the wSticky Webs are capable of picking off Abra with their STAB.

I know this is already in GP stage, but this analysis has a few problems that need to be fixed before it finishes GP checking. Mainly the fact that the two attacking sets are merged. Yes, they're similar in moves, but they play REALLY differently, and need different descriptions.

Put LO attacker set as Psychic / Shadow Ball / HP fighting / Substitute only: mentions how it profits from voltturn and fighting types to set up subs and start wrecking shit, or that it can just straight-up launch attacks: 19 speed and 20 SpA is really good
remove all mentions of revenge killing: this set breaks. Remove all mentions of protect too, it's worthless on LO. Dazzling Gleam doesn't really work, as Scraggy is uncommon and you can't RK it anyway while HP fighting KOes pawn, a huge threat. Shadow Ball OHKOes non-evio missy, which is rly nice. Mention how it really likes hazards

Sash set should be Psychic / Dazzling Gleam / HP fighting / Protect: mentions how it's an excellent glue on balance and offense teams, being able to sit on your team until you need it. It doesn't really need support, since it's more of a glue than anything else. Remove Sub from OO, and mention how Abra checks&Counters really depend on the set ran (for example, mention how Pawn / Carv can only really check LO, and even then Sub can be used)

Remove Sticky Web from Checks and Counters, as the speed drop doesn't really hinder the sash set, and any strong attacker is generally hindered by Sticky Web. Also, the bug types that setup sticky web can't tank a Psychic. Make Misdreavus a check: it can't switch in.

Do all of this, and you can proceed with the analysis.

I agree with Corkscrew that the two sets are pretty similar, enough that one set to cover both is sufficient for this analysis. I also agree with Corkscrew's set, namely:

I am very much in agreement with apt-get, and would like to add two things to his post:

The LO set is also a decent "revenge killer", in that I find I get a lot of my set-up opportunities by bringing it in on something like Mienfoo after it knocks something out. That set is all about getting behind a Substitute and then proceeding to destroy, so any way it can do that should be mentioned in the set. The LO set also really loves Knock Off support, boosting its already huge damage output by 50% once a target loses its Eviolite. Couple that with the Knock Off buff allowing it to do actual damage, and you've got walls that are both weakened and itemless for Abra to tear apart.

You should probably change it to Quality Control why you type up the two sets and subsequent paragraphs. Then just have one of the QC members check over it and make sure nothing insane got in there somehow, and you can move it back to Copy Editing.

Put Dazzling Gleam second in the Life Orb set. Murkrow is gone, meaning it's main target is now a non-issue. The only other Dark-types in the tier that Dazzling Gleam is useful for are Vullaby and Scraggy. With the proper Knock Off support, both are 2HKOed most of the time after Stealth Rock, and it's not like that variant of Abra can stop a boosted Scraggy anyway, so the OHKO isn't as important. In return, the OHKO on Pawniard is much more important, seeing as it is very common in the metagame. That said, do keep Dazzling Gleam first on the Sash set. As important as beating Pawniard is, being able to stop a boosted Scraggy is one of the Sash set's main functions as a "panic button" type of Pokemon.

Mention Thunder Wave as an option of the Sash set in Other Options. This was a much better choice back in the days of Tangela and Yanma, but I still feel like it has a niche now. Basically, you paralyze that which you can't OHKO, such as Tirtouga, Dwebble, or Fletchling as they take you down to your Sash. If it's something without priority, you still get to hit them, but they are also then crippled for the rest of your team to deal with much easier. However, it aggravates Abra's 4MSS and isn't as good as it once was, making Other Options a good place to put it.

After fixing that, I think this analysis is good.

QC 1 of 2? 3? How many more QC checks would we need in this case?

i know this is written up but an option that has become more popular on the sash set from what i've seen is knock off to cripple bulky things like Pory/Licki as well as removing Magnemite's Berry Juice (all of these being common switchins to Abra) so that should at least be mentioned if not slashed...also should probably remove Missy mentions

Abra returns to the metagame with it's staggering base 105 sSpecial aAttack, stat is the highest in the tier, only tybeing withmatched by Solosis. For a pokemon that spends most of its time sleeping,' Special Attack stat. Abra is extremely fast, reaching the invaluable 19 sSpeed tier, which allowings it to outspeed the majority of the metagame. While the generation shift brought on a lot of new Dark -types, it also granted Abra the new Fairy -type attack, Dazzling Gleam. Now, Abra doesn't have to run the lackluster Hidden Power for coverage, allowing it to maim the Dark -types whothat would otherwise giveKO it nightmareswith ease. Abra's ability, Magic Guard, allows it to effectively utilize a Focus Sash to become an effective revenge killer, hitting a good amount of threats super- effectively.

However, Abra's pPsychic typing and downright terrible defenses really limit what it can do, as it has to constantly be on lookwary out for Sucker Punch users and sChoice Scarfed pokemon users, whoich can easily putKO it to rest, even with neutral attacks.

Moves

Psychic is Abra's trusty STAB move, as it is both powerful and reliable. It allows Abra to revenge kill Fighting- or Poison -type threats. Its newest move, Dazzling Gleam, allows it to hit the Dark -types, whoich are immune to it's STABPsychic, while Hidden Power Fighting is great for hitting Pawniard and Houndour super effectively, as they are only neutral to Fairy -type attacksly hit by Dazzling Gleam. Finally, Knock Off allows Abra to hinder its counters, namely Porygon and Munchlax, by severely lowering their bulk as well as removing any Berry Juice from Pokemon like Magnemite. Protect, however, can be used to stop nasty Fake Out users whoich threaten to nullify Abra's precious Focus Sash

Set Details
========
Thanks to Magic Guard and Focus Sash, it is impossiblAbra cannot be to OHKOed. Abra. Therefores such, this set works best as a "fail-safe" against set-up sweepers. It is also still incredibly powerful and fast, so it can be useful late-game to put heavily offensive pressure the opponent. The EVs are used to getmaximize Abra the most s's Speed and powerdamage output, as its subpar defenses are pretty much unsalvageable. A Timid nature is theshould best used, as it allows Abra to hit 19 sSpeed, giving it the ability to outspeed all largthe majority of the metagame.

Usage Tips
========
This set should never bAs it might lose swits Focus Sashing in, lest it take a hit and lose its focus sash the process, Abra should never be directly switched in. Most attacks, even neutrally effective ones, will take out a good chunk of its health. Abra is great at revenge killing set-up sweepers, such as Scraggy, so keeping its Focus Sash in tact should be a massive priorityis very important. Once Abra has lost its Focus Sash, it has tomust be wary of sChoice Scarfed pokemon users, whoich can outspeed Abra and take it down before it has a chance to attack. Priority is another concernmoves, especiarticularly Sucker Punch, are also very threatening to Abra.

Team Options
==========
This set finds its best usmost effective on Hhyper-O offensive teams that may, which have a hard time dealing with set-up sweepers. Slow Volt Switch or U-turn users, such as Nosepass orand Chinchou, help Abra get on the field without having to take any damage. Pokemon whothat can clear away ddeal with Dark-types, especially Pursuit or Sucker Puncher users, will be helpful to Abramake for good partners as well:; Fairy-types, likesuch as Spritzee and Cottonee, orand Fighting-types, likesuch as Minenfoo orand Timburr, also work well in this situation. The latter. Fighting-types are also able to take down bulky ncare of Normal -types, such as like Porygon and Munchlax, whoseich high Special Defense stats make them good checks to Abra.

Life Orb
==============
name: Life Orb
Move 1: Psychic
move 2: Dazzling Gleam
move 3: Hidden Power Fighting
move 4: Substitute
ability: Magic Guard
item: Life Orb
EVs: 240 Spa / 200 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
=====
Psychic and Dazzling Gleam get good coverage that, which is rounded off by Hidden Power Fighting. Unlike the Focus Sash set, Abra won't be able to survive hits from most boostedsetup sweepers, so it needs its coverage in order to maximize its power. SinceAs Abra naturally forces a lot of switches, Substitute is its best option for a fourth move, putting pressure on the foe to attack and often times allowing it to safely get a 2HKO. Additionally, Substitute protects it from the nasty Sucker Punches that, which would otherwise KO it.

Set Details
========
This set is designed to hit as fast and hard as possible. Abra reaches a mighty 20 sSpecial aAttack and hits the desired 19 sSpeed, letting it outspeed most unboosted Pokemon, likesuch as Gastly. Life Orb makes Abra's moves much more powerful and the negative health -draining effect is nullified thanks toby Magic Guard. Due to its extreme power, not a lot of Pokemon will be able to stand up to an attack, therefore it from Abra, makesing it a good wallbreaker.

Usage Tips
========
Like the Focus Sash set, Abra is too frail to be switchinged in, so coming in to revenge kill or afterthrough a slow Volt Switch or U-turn is most desirable. If you predict that the enemy will switch out, Substitute is the best option, putting the opponent in a badn unfavorable situation. It can also help protect Abra from dDark-types whothat might try to trap it with Pursuit or strikeKO it down with Sucker Punch. Basically, predication is the key to victory with Abra, as it has the moves tocan easily 2HKO a lot ofmost Pokemon in the metagame.

Team Options
==========
This set is good for Hhyper-O offensive teams that need to be able to break through bulky walls, asince Abra is so powerfucan deal wit's hard for any Pokemon to sh walls witch inease. Abra usually has trouble dealing with Ghost-types, so pokemon likeNormal-types such as Porygon and Munchlax are helpful, and in return, Abra can scare away Fighting-types, whoich threaten them. Fighting- and Fairy-types make for good partners as well, being able to counter the Dark-type pokemons, whoich are immune to Abra's STAB moves. Additionally, Slow U-turners and Volt Switch users can help Abra get into battle without taking too much damage.

Other Options
==========
Abra also gets Charge Beam to deal a little damage and boost its Special Attack, but Abra is sovery frail that it's generally, making Charge Beam not worth it. T; this is also the case with Calm Mind. Abra can set up Ddual Sscreens, and has a fast Encore to help it set up. Abra also has access to Psyshock to catch Munchlax off guard, but Little Cup is a very physically defensive metagame, and itPsyshock misses a guaranteed OHKO on some important pcommon Pokemon, such as Timburr, if Abra is not running Life Orb. A sChoice Scarf set with Trick could be interesting, and is useful for revenge killing faster threats like Dragon Dance Scraggy and other sChoice Scarf users. Finally, for the Focus Sash set, Thunder Wave can be useful for crippingling boosted threats that Abra wouldn't otherwise be able to OHKO, such as Tirtouga or Dwebble.

Checks & Counters
==============
**Dark T-types**: Dark -types like Pawniard, Stunky, and Houndour are capable of giving Abra a headache with their immunitye to Psychic-type attacks andre neutrality to Fairy -type attacks, making it difficult for Abra to KO them. They put a lot of pressure on Abra with their super effective attacks, especially the nasty Sucker Punch. Carvanha, while also frail, can stall out Speed boosts with Protect until it is able to outspeed Abra and Crunch for the KO.

**Munchlax**: Munchlax has enough special bulk to surviveat virtually everything Abra can launch at it, including Hidden Power Fighting. It is also capable of trapping Abra with Pursuit or slowing it down with Body Slam's paralysis.

**Choice Scarfed Pokemon users** As long as Abra has lost its Focus Sash, sChoice Scarfed pokemon users will outspeed Abra andbe able to take advantage of its low defenses to get an easy KO.

**Paralysis**: Due to Abra's reliance on sSpeed, being paralyzedsis greatly hinders its ability to perform. Slowpoke and Porygon can survive any of Abra's attacks and spread Thunder Wave, while ultimately healing any lost health back with Regenerator or Recover, respectively.

**Sticky Web**: Magic Guard does not protect against the sSpeed boost dropdrop from Sticky Web, and the Bug-types who canthat set up the Sticky Webs are capable of picking off Abra with their STAB moves.
