Overview
########

Golett has an impressive Attack stat for Little Cup. It also has a great movepool and a good ability in Iron Fist. Its unique typing grants it immunities to Electric-, Normal-, and Fighting-type moves. It can set Stealth Rock and block Rapid Spin at the same time, which is unique to it. There are a few downsides to using Golett, however. Despite a high HP stat, it has fairly low Defense and Special Defense stats. It is also very slow, which hinders its attacking abilities. It also has no physical Ghost-type STAB move, as Shadow Punch is illegal at level 5. Even though its unique typing grants Golett three immunities, it also unfortunately leaves Golett with several glaring weaknesses to Dark-, Ghost-, Water-, and Grass-type moves, which are pretty common.

Tank

move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Ice Punch
ability: Iron Fist
item: Eviolite
evs: 44 HP / 164 Atk / 196 Def / 76 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Golett has several good options with its great movepool. Drain Punch is a reliable source of damage and recovery that is boosted by Iron Fist. Earthquake provides a STAB move with a relatively high Base Power, hitting Rock-, Steel-, and Fire-types reliably. Stealth Rock is a useful move to have on any team. Finally, Ice Punch rounds off Golett's coverage by hitting Flying-, Grass-, Ground-, and Dragon-types, all while being boosted by Iron Fist.

Set Details
========

Golett's EVs and nature aim to maximize its bulk and Attack. 164 Attack EVs allow it to always OHKO certain Pokemon, such as Pawniard. With 44 HP and 196 Defense EVs, Golett has better chances of surviving attacks from some of the bigger physical threats in the tier. It has a high chance of surviving a Knock Off from Choice Scarf Pawniard, and it can take two Earthquakes from Drilbur and 2HKO in return. To round off the EVs, 76 Speed is used to outspeed other 10 Speed Pokemon, such as Porygon. Eviolite increases both of Golett's defenses and dramatically increases its overall bulk. Iron Fist increases the power of Golett's coverage moves, Drain Punch and Ice Punch.

Usage Tips
========

When using Golett, there are a few things to keep in mind. Drain Punch is always the main move to use against most targets, as it provides good coverage, as well as recovery. When in doubt, Earthquake is Golett's largest source of damage. Always resort to that as a last option. If your team doesn't already having a Pokemon running Stealth Rock, run it; it's amazingly useful. Set up Stealth Rock against support Pokemon such as Spritzee or Pokemon that Golett can tank hits from, such as Fire- and Electric-types.

Team Options
========

Several Pokemon complement Golett well. Normal-types are immune to Ghost-type moves, so Bunnelby makes a decent teammate. As Golett blocks Rapid Spin, the only other means of removing Stealth Rock is Defog, which Pawniard would love to have hit it, so together they form a great entry hazards removal blocking duo. Any Dark-types that can tank a Knock Off and deal with Ghost-types, including Houndour, Scraggy, and Vullaby, help out Golett with its weakness. Vullaby and Houndour can also beat Grass-types that can threaten Golett. Dark-types also threaten Slowpoke, which can be a problem for Golett. Grass-types such as Foongus and Bellsprout help beat Golett's weakness to Water-types. Pokemon that can deal with Fighting-types well, such as Snubbull, Spritzee, and Trubbish, can aid in beating them for Golett. Additionally, Spritzee provides Wish support for Golett, while Trubbish provides hazard support with Spikes. Lastly, Golett works very well on Sticky Web teams, so either Surskit or Spinarak would make a good team option.

Other Options
########

Golett has a very wide movepool, but none of the moves it learns are as useful as the ones on its main set. It has access to several good special attacks, but it has a really bad Special Attack stat. Golett can learn Superpower, which is a heavy damage dealing move to hit Dark-types. Fire Punch can be used to hit Ferroseed, as well as other Grass-types, super effectively. Meanwhile, Thunder Punch can be used to hit Flying-types and Water-types. Golett can learn Thief, so a set with Berry Juice could be useful. Rock Polish can be used to raise Golett's Speed to high levels, boosting its attacking capabilities. Rock Tomb can be used to lower opponents' Speed and hit incoming switches. Similarly, Bulldoze can be used as a STAB option that lowers the opponent's' Speed, but it is generally worse than Earthquake.

Checks & Counters
########

**Dark-types**: Knock Off is super effective against Golett and removes its item, which could prove to be fatal. In general, Golett does not appreciate Dark-type moves.

**Ghost-types**: As Ghost-types hit Golett super effectively with their STAB moves and Golett has no means of retaliation, it will surely be taken down or forced out by the likes of Frillish, Gastly, and Pumpkaboo.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Chinchou, Slowpoke, and Staryu can all threaten Golett out with a Water-type STAB move.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Cottonee, Bellsprout, and Foongus pose threats to Golett with their offensive and defensive type advantages.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Hippopotas and Spritzee take minimal damage from Golett, can recover health back, and proceed to wear Golett down.

can't you get fire punch+ice punch together from gen 5 move tutors?

'Fire Punch hits Grass types, while Ice Punch hist Flying types' - ice punch also hits grass-types. infact why would you use fire punch at all except for maybe a OHKO on ferroseed, and hitting levitate bronzor (which sucks anyway)

'44 HP and 196 Defense gives Golett better chances of surviving some of the bigger physical threats in the tier.' - which threats can it take a hit from now?

remove berry juice mention, since you have drain punch and evio is just better on golett.

'at the expense of your Special Attack which is unneeded' - don't add sentences like this to the write-up it's just unnecessary information

in usage tips mention how drain punch can often be the go-to move if recovery is necessary.
and it actually does outspeed a few walls (lots sit under 10 speed) such as foongus, and it can tie with loads of other 10 speeders such as porygon.
actually, does 36 Special Defense do anything useful? if not, you can run 76 Spe to outspeed Porygon guaranteeing you can hit it with Drain Punch before it gets you with Shadow Ball.

I wouldn't advise switching fighting-types directly into ghosts, so remove that.
other fighting counters such as fairies and poisons are cool.
mention water+grass types counters in team options

put subpunch in other options cos that seems powerful
Rock Tomb and Bulldoze in other options is cool so it can outspeed switchins under 15 speed. Can run Rock Tomb+ 156 speed EVs to tie with 18 and 19 speed switchins. Rock tomb hits flyers and bulldoze is STAB
Rock Polish in OO

finish off your checks and counters section, make these changes, then you can message me and i'll stamp this

remove fire punch, i've tested golett, ice punch is 1000x better, fire punch is basically useless.

I wouldn't advise switching fighting-types directly into ghosts, so remove that.
add fighting counters such as fairies and poisons to team options
mention things to counter water+grass types in team options

put focus punch in OO

please make sure you change everything i say in my post - make these edits and then it's qc 1/3

Overview:
Most viable Stealth Rock setters are useful after setting up Stealth Rock, so this point should probably be removed.

Iron Fist:
I feel as if "Tank" would be a more suitable name, given how Iron Fist hardly defines Golett when Earthquake and Stealth Rock are arguably its most important moves.
Under usage tips, I don't think it's necessary to recommend running Stealth Rock when it's already a mandatory move on the set itself.
Remove the "don't think you'll be outspeeding anything" point as well, because 10 Speed is still faster than a lot of walls and certain tanks.

Other Options:
Ferroseed is starting to become more popular now so I think Fire Punch warrants a mention here; just be sure to mention that Ice Punch usually outclasses it.
Focus Punch is illegal on level 5 Golett, from what I understand, so I suppose you should remove that.

Checks and Counters:
Remove mentions of Misdreavus. Some examples of Ghost-types that threaten Golett would be Gastly, Frillish, and Pumpkaboo.
Add physical walls, such as Spritzee and Hippopotas, which are able to wall Golett endlessly and gradually wear it down.
For examples of Grass-types that threaten Golett, use Foongus, Cottonee, and Bellsprout instead, which are overall more relevant than Bulbasaur or Oddish.

Well done, Water Drone n.n
QC 2/3

Water Drone Focus Punch is illegal on a level 5 Golett. It doesn't learn it by level-up until 55, and because Golett/Golurk are genderless, you can't get it by breeding. Focus Punch isn't a TM this generation (or last generation, for that matter)

- mention how Golett is a useful tool for sticky web teams and really appreciates web support
- "44 HP and 196 Defense gives Golett better chances of surviving some of the bigger physical threats in the tier." mention some of these threats? for example, you can say how it avoids the 2HKO from drilbur's EQ and can 2HKO with drain punch + ice punch
- "Iron Fist increases the power of all of these moves by 1.2 times, with the exception of Earthquake and obviously Stealth Rock." So iron fist boosts every move except half of them? doesn't make much sense, just replace it with something like "iron fist boosts the power of its coverage moves"

qc 3/3 looks p good

>great movepool... elemental punches sr eq drain punch, lacks a ghost stab or setup move. And doesnt have many options.

Normal immunity moved to the end so people hopefully make the connection between it and spinblocking. Also mentioned that it learns sr since otherwise that part is non sequitur

Also has an ice weakness, your writing implies those are all the weaknesses.

Non evio pawn dies easy i bet, does evio ohko? 10 speed mons can also invest, all your coverage is punches.

Do you mean use golett if you lack an srmon or use sr on it? And dont you do that anyhow?

Such a great improvement on your pawn stuff. More info vis a vis resists, way shorter, better. Idk do what you want.

Since pawn does that its other dark types.

Golett can learn X is the kind of no duh you get when no duh freeza kills no duh krillin. FLUFF!

Not so many options lol.

All sucker punchers are faster than golett so who cares lol.

Actually it can retaliate w/ eq or ice punch. You should write that it lacks a ghost stab to hit them with though, i should have done that myself.
