I could have sworn we gave it a phew fun elements..... leaders making snow angels in berries....a Guy who has an obsessive compulsion for berries.....

Ik I'm forgetting alot but the starters were picked based on competitive civility and I knew what smogon ment bud. Am just stating this is what was decided on and agreed upon. Logging will probably show up sooner or later (probably with Doug riding it around the e4 palace thing to boot) but it is not starting the game with you.

Howdy yall, and welcome to another wrap up: this time of Ordland City!

Ordland Wrap up!

Now as always, here is the town description which I would be foolish in trying to restate all here but here is the post made by Mew King :http://www.smogon.com/forums/thread...-gym-leader-noms.3510993/page-36#post-5714621

In this town is an assortment of things, from an old man who proclaims his efficiency to changing the weather, a man who has his research stolen by team luck sack on overpowered Pokemon, and people who say they saw the Luck Sack on the tv! Most important of all though, is the normal type gym, housed by Oglemi.

In the PokeCenter is an Ace trainer that will give the VS Seeker once defeated, which he seems all too eager to give away. There is then a magikarp salesman outside the PokeMart, hoping to sell it to you for a quick bundle, with a little barn nearby that houses a kind old farmer that sells Moomoo milk for all your milky needs.

Then you got the gym.

In it houses one trainer, but he himself can be bypassed if you really want to (basically just walk around him) to go and fight the leader. The team used by Oglemi will be shown here as provided by Fourth Inversion

Bunnelby @ Focus Sash
Ability: Huge Power
Level: 18
Jolly Nature
- Tackle
- Quick Attack
- Mud Shot
- Spikes

Chansey
Ability: Natural Cure
Level: 18
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Protect
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock

Clefairy @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
Level: 18
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Disarming Voice

Gligar @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
Level: 18
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Aerial Ace
- Bulldoze
- Protect

Loudred @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
Level: 20
Jolly Nature
- Uproar

Fletchinder @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
Level: 20
Adamant Nature
-WoW
-Roost
-Protect
-Aerial Ace

With Protect being the TM of choice along with the Ladybug Badge with the player gaining access to the use of the HM Cut in the field.

After winning the badge you leave the town to head to the next route, and encounter your rival (note: if you had tried leaving before, the rival stops ya and sends you back to the gym if you hadn’t gotten the badge yet) who challenges you to a battle (after getting the badge). After losing, they run off, proclaiming they have got to do more research to not get embarassed like that again....

Soon that will be followed by a guy chasing after some Luck Sack grunts riding off in a helicopter, for which he proclaims the hooligans stole his research. Poor guy....

Now on to unrelated town matters, we have a rough outline of how we want the other towns to go through (or ones that house gym leaders) and what we want to base them off of badge and leader wise (not type mind you). This post can be seen by MikeDecIsHere for more clarification but it will be used as our outline for badges going forward: http://www.smogon.com/forums/thread...-gym-leader-noms.3510993/page-37#post-5726135

We also got a post talking bout the approach to legendaries and how they should be handled in the story (with ideas ranging from having a showdown of K-W and K-B to introducing them after the final battle with Luck Sack) where it was ultimately put to rest that we should keep them as sidequests like the Bird Trio in RBY. If you would like to dicuss this more, look for the posts pertaining to these in the posts made by WebBowser and Cataclyptic in the hide tag below labeled Legendary discussion.

And Finally we got a visual update of our Trainers or main protagonists of the game made by Cataclyptic which can be seen here:

Overall the Wrap up was much more fleshed out and overall great discussion yall :D

Edit:

Late Additions:

Guard Blocking The North:

To be fair, we're already making fun of ourselves, why don't we break the fourth wall a bit and have, instead of an officer, a guy on all sorts of drugs blocking us from going past him by saying, "Yo, the plot fairies were just talking to me. They told me that I must block you and only you from accessing this route for the time being. They told me that they didn't plan for you to come back here until much later in the game. What kind of game do you think they were talking about?"

Abandoned Warehouse:

Pokemon:-Ghastly, Levels 10-13 (Common)
-Murkrow, Levels 9-11 (Common)
-Aron, Levels 16-18 (Uncommon)
-Gothita, Level 15 (Uncommon)
-Wynaut, Level 13-14 (rare)

TMs:
-Taunt (NPC)
-Venoshock
-Poison Jab

One Trainer (From Webbowser): http://www.smogon.com/forums/thread...-gym-leader-noms.3510993/page-39#post-5742593

Taunt NPC: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/pokemon-smogon-version-ou-route-4.3510993/page-40#post-5749114

Before we ultimately move on, just one more tiny note that we'd like to discuss: Adding a Bellsprout Tower like area in.

Basically it is an abandoned Warehouse that houses the following:

Ghastly
Magnemite
Gothita
Wynaut
-Taunt TM from an NPC that also explains stall-breaking
-Venoshock TM
-poison jab TM

Basically a section that serves as the place for the player to gain mons that could help assist him in against the gym (like you see with Mankey being available before Brock and etc.). Would like some slight discussion over this to see yalls thoughts and what you would like added before we head off towards the next route.

If its a abandoned Warehouse and is meant to help against the gym, I think Timburr would be perfect for it, so yeah

Pokemon Proposal
Timburr

Ight so a second location to catch Timburr? (was previously capable of being caught on the route right after forest). Im not gainst it, but just clarifying.

Oh wow didn't realize, but it still wouldn't be a bad idea, pokemon in game are often found in more than one area (Ironically, Timburr is one of these in BW) although I am fine with not having it in here

We're having this inside the town right? If I may make a suggestion, if we're making the town similar to my idea, why don't we make this inside one of the buildings that were burnt down? They'll be abandoned/perfect for it. Maybe the abandoned burnt down gym if you're keeping most of what I said.

That would be perfect! and if ya read the wrap up, it has your description as the one we are going with (thought I had tagged you in there to read bout it...oh well).

You did, just wanted to be sure that that part is staying there.

Thinking back to burning buildings and the Pokemon series... Would this be a great place to meet a Legendary?

Think of it this way, in the back of the abandoned burned out gym is a rock that can only be moved by Strength. If you move it, you get access to the basement where we find the OU viable Legendary known for chilling at the bottom of a burned building: Entei. Of course, the player wouldn't be able to move it until near the end of the game AND they would need to remember that there is a movable rock in this optional area so it'll just be a fun little thing to see a legendary technically this early in the game.

Of course I might be getting over my head in this place, but we are going to include OU viable legendaries and Entei is found in the Burned Tower in GSC, so I thought it would be an idea.

Oh sure man. Just flesh it out and say at what point you want us to be able to access the legend (postgame is not an option and I'd like to think a little bit into the game so they can start experimenting and seeing if the player wants to abuse that Sacred Fire spam).

Well, I was thinking of allowing players to access it when they get access to Strength. (I'm assuming we're still going to have HMs because we go back and forth with having it or not again and again). That ends up being between the third and sixth badges according to Bulbapedia. So, if we are going to give out the HMs, how about at the fourth gym for strength?

If we're not going to give out HMs, we can just make the staircase downstairs locked. The player can find a random trainer in the town of the fourth gym that says he found something interesting in Ordland Town and will give you the key to the staircase if you win.

We are having HMs (even if their cons have been discussed to death in this thread). So i'll probably add that part in of the warehouse in a bit (or later. Football sunday it still is).

Magnemite maaay be a bit early for this point, especially since he hardwalls most of the first gym's team by virtue of being steel type. Ghastly should be fine though, there's enough not normal type moves for his immunity to be a non-issue.

I suggest replacing mag with another special attacker. Perhaps Electrik?

Nah Eelektrik isn't ou viable. How about Rotom? Regular forme is not op and can scale it based on when the other forme/ formes are accessible. might fit better later in the game. That's was the first electric type I could think of so idk

Darn you similar names! I meant to propose Manectric's prevo, not whatever electross' prevo is...

I am waiting for the day elektross is OU viable though, if only he had the bulk to accompany his awesome typing and movepool.

Anyway, sorry about the confusion.

Aren't we all. Truly I didn't notice the issue but eh.

The design of having them there was just cause of having the most notable tellers in one place for ya. I still think Magnemite isn't that bad consider the power of Gligar there on their team (even if its just attacking with knock off) but it can be reliably worn down I think. Still those are my thoughts.

I like the suggestions of Gothita, Wynaut and Gastly, as all three could do well against some pokemon in the gym, but without individually being able to 6-0 it. Magnemite seems to be too strong, as it has a great typing matchup against the gym, 95 special attack (which is far higher than anything currently available to the player or the gym leader), as well as Sonic Boom at level 10 (always does 20 damage), so I'd support with WebBowser's suggestion of Electrike, as that's (in its pre-evolution) is the weakest Electric-type pokemon we can give the player.

Bunnelby also has mudshot, so yeah... This team is not walled by Magnemite.

I forgot about Sonicboom honestly though-- we can replace; I was just trying to think of some urban-ish Poke that would appear in an abandoned warehouse.

Rotom seems too early-- that would be really overpowered.

electrike would of course be fine, but it also wouldn't do squat against the gym leader.

Taunt-- obviously does a lot of work against stall/semi-stall

Poison Jab-- Lets timburr smash the Chansey + Clefairy core, and if it gets poisoned by Chansey it can smack Gliscor pretty damn hard with Return (probably...).

Venoshock-- Makes it really easy for Ivysaur to break Oglemi's core, with poison immune + Leech Seed shutting down chansey, Venoshock smashing Clefairy, and Leech Seed + Vine Whip (and even Sleep Powder) letting it bring down Gliscor.

Ghastly-- learns Taunt, which is huge because with no Seismic Toss, Chansey can do nothing but struggle. Venoshock lets it destroy Clefairy (who it also walls), and it can hit Gligar with Night Shade or Hypnosis on the switch-in. Also flat-out walls Bunnelby and Loudred. I think Ghastly should be level 10 in this area, to make people work for it a bit.

edited the post with the Oglemi team a bit-- took Thunder Wave off Chansey and made it Calm to make it more manageable... no DEF EVs. I'm fine with putting SR on Chansey, but Gligar seems a big too strong with both Aerial Ace and Knock Off-- the former destroys Timburr, and the latter destroys Ghastly, the two pokes more useful in bringing this gym down. Of course, making Gligar a major threat in this way is something I'm ok with, as long as everyone else is ok with it too. I mean, don't want Ghastly or Timburr to be capable of steam-rolling the gym either.
