Arena = Ground Gym
Arena: Ground Gym
Field Type
: Ground
Complexity: Intense
Format: All

Restrictions: No Natural Grass, No External Water Source, Only Sandstorm & Clear weather permitted, Indoor Arena

Description: TBD

Mechanics:
  • Nature Power calls Land's Wrath. Secret Power has a 30% chance to lower the foe's Speed by 1 Stage.
  • The mixture of sand & dirt makes Dig easier to execute & gain height on attack, reducing its Energy cost by 2, & enabling the user to hit a target under the effects of Levitate/Magnet Rise/Telekinesis irrespective of Size Class.
  • Pokémon cannot have their typing altered through any means, while Double Team & Illusion have no effect. The lights in the arena shine brightly enough to expose the disguises a Pokémon may have.
  • Grassy Terrain's duration is halved. The sand-dirt mixture does not really allow for grass to grow, making it wilt very quickly.
  • Sandstorm when summoned lasts for five rounds as opposed to four (eight with a Smooth Rock). The sand on the arena floor provides enough fuel for a Sandstorm to last longer.
Summary: Another Ground-type Gym I guess?

IAR brings a team that appears to be overprepared for Grass-types and underprepared for Water-types. Probably because Torterra sucks and there aren't any better ground-type answers. Pay attention to Gastrodon because it's the only thing on IAR's team that doesn't die to water attacks.

WW brings a team with a variety of anti-ground pokemon. Pay attention to Cloyster, because Skill Link Icicle Spears are devastating, and Cloyster also has Water STAB to break through Steelix.

ASBot says that IAR should send out first.

Let's start off strong! Kippy @ Rare Candy, come out and show them what you got!

Earthquake -> Aqua Tail -> Earthquake
If Bide, change remaining actions to Substitute (15) -> Power-Up Punch -> Earthquake
If Counter, change that action to Hydro Pump and push back
If Hidden Power Grass NOT in a combo, change that action to Mirror Coat

"You are going to leave in pieces! out of all the mons that could have come out maybe i should have been aggressive r1"

Fire Punch > Flamethrower > Fire Punch
IF
(Non-Combo) Dig is used without suspense, THEN use a Flamethrower + Flamethrower combo on the first instance.
IF Counter is issued when you are to use Fire Punch, THEN use Fire Blast that action.
IF (Non-Combo) Icicle Spear is used, THEN use Counter on the first instance.

I definitely agree with the odd part...

Giga Drain x3
If successful P/E move, change that action to Spikes
If Mirror Coat, change that action to Knock Off the first time, Bug Bite the second, and Icicle Crash the third
If Swagger AND you have more than 15 HP, change that action to Substitute (15)

"You know... If there is one thing I have learned from 2011, then it would be to never underestimate the power of THIS!"

String Shot (RP Action: Muzzle Syclant to prevent usage of moves that require use of its mouth like hopefully Giga Drain) > Brine > Ancient Power
IF
String Shot misses or does not block Giga Drain as intended, THEN Flip a table and resign to losing use Rock Slide A2 AND use an Ancient Power + Ancient Power combo A3.

Obviously I'm biased, but I'd argue that that particular RP String Shot wouldn't work- the NDA says that the user "fires a red beam," it never says from where, and when its used in the actual anime it comes from places that aren't the mouth (for example, Ninjask traps its opponent in a green energy and then fires the Giga Drain off through its eyes, not its mouth, which is probably close to if not the same thing a Syclant would do)

Eh, I've always seen it as sucking up life force, and the actual in-game animation is green bubbles draining from the target. I've always seen it as going into the mouth of the user, but that's me.

Considering that my entire argument hinges on IAR specifically saying "mouth" and not "wherever Giga Drain comes out of," I'm just gonna let this go.

Serperior @ Rare Candy let's get it!

Now I know not to bring 2011 tactics to a serious ASB match again... even though it ultimately worked out.

Second and final warning for DQ. Three strikes and you are out! ^_^

i gave you an extra half a day before warning to see if you could post in that time

Cloyster @ King's Rock, let's go!

Hydro Pump -> Razor Shell -> Hydro Pump
If Solar Beam, change that action to Icicle Spear the first time, Rock Blast the second, and Icicle Spear the third, changing the following action to Hydro Pump each time
If successful P/E move, change that action to Spikes and change the following action to Hydro Pump

Mirror Coat is issued, AND you do not have a Substitute up, THEN use Flame Charge that action.
IF Dragon Tail is issued, AND you are not Taunted, AND you do not have a Substitute up, AND you have more than 15 HP, THEN use Substitute (15 HP) that action.
IF Dragon Tail is issued, THEN use Dig (Suspend) that action, AND use Dig (Attack) next action.

Hey Its_A_Random Avnomke little bit of a stupid request, I kinda derped and forgot I need to Toggle Contrary upon send-out, so can I retroactively activate it since I didn't exactly make a send-out post due to Serp being brought in from Roar?
