rip stall
Knock Off is always an annoyance to stall. But to suggest that it's a 'rip' to stall is stretching it. Chansey walls this af (Of course the loss of Eviolite hurts, then again Knock Off isn't unique to Landorus or anything. Transform Chansey would turn this against the user.

I took a few Frontier challenges, keep them coming

oh em gee. why would you ever use Tech Bug Bite on Scizor. Attack Order and Megahorn alone are better, let alone Tech Pin Missile (which I will never stop promoting btw).

If anyone saw that battle against insanelegend, my Kyurem-Black put in some work. It's a gen 5 set (as is the team) but I think it still might be worth testing further. I don't really know what the standard Kyurem-B set is actually, so maybe this is already close to it.

Kyurem-Black @ Lum Berry / Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 52 HP / 204 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Substitute
- Roost / Fusion Bolt
- Icicle Crash / Icicle Spear

The spread gives you max Speed and 101 HP substitutes. Basically, throw up a Sub as quickly as possible and start dancing. The Lum is nice in case you want to sub on Sableye, who will try to Dark Void or Will-O-Wisp you first most of the time. If it Taunts, switch and come back in later. Leftovers are a good option if you don't run Roost. The great thing is this set is immune to Topsy behind a sub. Parting Shot will still work, however. Also, Quagsire can't stomach hits at +1 because Teravolt nullifies Unaware.

Another option:

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Ice Shard
- Fusion Bolt
- Dragon Claw
- Icicle Crash / Icicle Spear

In a world where Landorus and Thundurus threaten to undo everything that is sacred in STABmons, there is a hero named Kyurem-Black. Ice Shard is a great move for sniping them and fellow birds giving your team troubles. I prefer Life Orb because you really don't want to get locked into Dragon Claw on a Fairy or Steel-type.

Jolly:
-1 252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Landorus-T: 458-546 (119.8 - 142.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
-1 252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Landorus-T: 218-265 (57 - 69.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Landorus-T: 328-390 (85.8 - 102%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Landorus: 452-536 (141.6 - 168%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Thundurus: 281-330 (93.9 - 110.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO (obviously OHKO w/ Rocks)
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Togekiss: 218-257 (70 - 82.6%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yanmega: 237-281 (75.7 - 89.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (obviously OHKO w/ Rocks)
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Diggersby: 260-307 (83.3 - 98.3%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Adamant:
-1 252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Landorus-T: 239-286 (62.5 - 74.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Landorus-T: 348-421 (91 - 110.2%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Thundurus: 307-361 (102.6 - 120.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Togekiss: 242-283 (77.8 - 90.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Yanmega: 260-307 (83 - 98%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (obviously OHKO w/ Rocks)
252+ Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Diggersby: 283-338 (90.7 - 108.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

It can also land a nice 1-2 on a fully defensive Sableye with Icicle Crash+Ice Shard:

252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye: 191-226 (62.8 - 74.3%)
252 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Shard vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye: 91-109 (29.9 - 35.8%)
92.7 - 110.1% -- 94% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Trolling through ORAS news to see if there is anything of interest for STABmons. Got a new Ground move in Precipice Blades and Water move in Origin Pulse, but don't know their effects yet (and they got a lot of work to do to outclass Thousand Arrows and Steam Eruption). Mega Lopunny will likely take over as the Scrappy FO/ES spammer of choice, with perfect coverage in its Scrappy STABs, and Mega Metagross' Tough Claws boosted +1 Gear Grinds are going to hurt, likewise Mega Camerupt's Sheer Force Blue Flare. Nothing else of interest...

Oh wait.

Pixilate Boomburst returns.

That's what I think of that.

It's a bit gimmicky, but has anyone considered natural gift fighting on belly drum Talonflame? It uses up the item, so it doesn't force it to run brave bird, but having to use that move before you can use acro can cause problems in a sweep. It also forces you to drop one of three important moves in sacred fire, flying move, and extremespeed, but it allows you to crush the likes of TTar and Heatran.

EDIT: Also because I don't want to make a new post, having played unfixable's probopass twice, I'll agree that it's a legitimate threat as a steel trapper, and probably the best in the tier at bulky trapping, taking less than half from adamant mega Scizor's gear grind.

Hydreigon: An Analysis
Hydreigon is an extremely versatile Pokemon and has many new toys in STABmons, yet it is undiscovered. It's versatility is nearly unmatched, with a plethora of viable sets it can run ranging anywhere from Choiced, mixed, or even defensive sets. Its attacking stats are quite high having 105 Attack and 125 Special Attack backed by a solid 98 Speed. Hydreigon's dual STAB combination is really good being only resisted by Fairy-types, Bisharp, Whimsicott, and Lucario. This also opens up a world of options because Dragon- and Dark-type moves are quite wide and versatile. Its bulk is actually quite good for an offensive Pokemon with solid 92 / 90 / 90 all around, which is great when compounded with its nice resistances. Thanks to it being kept under the radar, Hydreigon is not commonly seen or prepared for, which adds an element of surprise. With these newfound options in Knock Off and the already existing Taunt, Hydreigon performs well versus Stall. Speaking of Knock Off, it's fantastic o_o. Hydreigon is quite a good Pokemon with a few weaknesses, so let's get into it~!

Notable New Moves:
  • Dark Void
  • Dragon Claw
  • Dragon Dance
  • Knock Off
  • Nasty Plot
  • Parting Shot
  • Pursuit
  • Spacial Rend
  • Sucker Punch
Viable Sets:

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Draco Meteor
- Taunt

Knock Off really hurts bulkier teams that often use Leftovers and makes it easier to come in later and break through Pokemon such as Chansey or Skarmory. Superpower gets nice coverage and destroys Chansey after Knock Off and goes through Normal-types as well. Draco Meteor smacks physical walls that don’t expect it, and can also hit Skarmory for reasonable damage. Draco Meteor’s Special Attack drop is often not that bad because it will not be using it often. Taunt is to do even more versus Stall by removing the ability to set hazards, heal themselves or teammates, and use Thunder Wave or Toxic on Hydreigon. Use Knock Off on switch ins early on in the match and save Hydreigon for later on to sweep weakened teams. Another way is to lure in special walls and hit them with Knock Off, then when they go to a physical wall Hydreigon can catch them off guard with Draco Meteor; an example of this is an opponent going into Landorus-T to just be smacked by Draco Meteor to switch out to Heatran to get hit by Superpower, it’s really prediction and the opposing team. Hydreigon is very anti-meta at the moment because it’s just really good and not many teams have a solid answer to it because of its amazing versatility and unpredictability. Take advantage of Levitate, it can come in handy from time to time. Slower teams have a lot more trouble handling Hydreigon, while offensive teams do have it a bit easier. Sticky Web support from Scizor and using U-turn to bring Hydreigon in safely is a great strategy because Hydreigon’s Speed is a bit lacking and offensive teams in particular hate Sticky Web. Scizor is a great partner in general because of it and Hydreigon’s fantastic synergy in general. Scizor can take on Fairy-types that threaten Hydreigon and Hydreigon can weaken teams for Scizor or break through Heatran. Another good partner is Aegislash, because of the two’s flawless synergy. A final partner of note is Azumarill + Magnezone to form a DragMagFairy core that can put in some work. For reference, I use both Hydreigon, Aegislash, and Azumarill because the three form a great core. Using Parting Shot over Taunt is viable as well to get out of there after a drop. Life Orb is obviously for added power, but Lum Berry is an option or even Dread Plate because you’ll mainly be spamming Knock Off. Naive nature is chosen because running Hasty makes Hydreigon much more prone to Fake Out and Extreme Speed from the likes of Stoutland or Diggersby.

Hydreigon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Substitute
- Roost
- Taunt
- Knock Off

This set takes a much different approach and aims to take advantage of Hydreigon’s resistances and immunities including Fire-, Ground-, and Water-type moves. Substitute + Roost is a neat combination and works well to stay safe from Toxic damage and continue to stall break. Taunt is the stall breaker of this set, preventing phasing or boosting in offensive cases. Taunt is a great move in general. Knock Off is the final middle finger to Stall, removing Leftovers and Eviolites alike, it is also a great support move so that teammates can break down bulkier Pokemon with the removal of Leftovers and Eviolites. Knock Off is strong as well because of Hydreigon’s base 105 Attack. his set works well versus Stall because it beats Chansey, Quagsire, Skarmory (without Brave Bird), Heatran, and bulky Landorus-T one on one; Chansey – Knock Off + Taunt + Sub = :[, Quagsire – Can not break Substitute with its moves nor can it Toxic it, doesn’t appreciate the removal of Leftovers, Skarmory – Can’t do anything unless Brave Bird due to Taunt, Heatran – Taunt prevents Roaring or using King’s Shield and Knock Off removes Leftovers. Lava Plume can’t break Substitute and Doom Desire can be played around, Lando-T – Lando-T with Defog / Stealth Rock / Knock Off / Brave Bird will kill itself it in the process of Brave Birding. Knock Off does not break Substitute and can not use Defog or Stealth Rock because of Taunt. Eventually, it will be forced to switch. Bulky Shift Gear Mega Scizor or Physically Defensive Mega Scizor is a great partner because of their synergy and Scizor very much appreciates the walling of Heatran. Mega Scizor can also Defog away hazards that Hydreigon is hurt by. Steel-types in general make good partners. Heatran is a neat partner because it can set Stealth Rock and the switches Hydreigon forces works well in tandem with this. And shuffling with Roar and Doom Desire is cool as well. They also have great synergy, the only thing that is not resisted between the two is Fighting-type moves, which is why Fairy-types. It’s an option to use Parting Shot somewhere on this set or even using Pursuit somewhere, but this set’s moves will provide the best outcome in general. Leftovers is obvious really, I tried the Fairy-type weakness neutering berry for a bit, but it was really bad in comparison to Leftovers. The EV spread can be optimized to outspeed some Pokemon, notable Landorus-T, but a full specially defensive set works well anyways. 248 HP is for less entry hazard damage of course, and it allows for four substitutes to be set up versus three. Physically defensive spreads could be used, but the types it resists are often Special (Fire – Charizard Y, Water – Slowking, Starmie, Ground – Landorus). Also, notable resistances to Grass- and Electric-type moves.

unfixable

got another frontier match here so I'm 2-0 atm.
k, wut.

Right out of the gate, Aerial Ace Ninjask. I get not using Brave Bird (recoil breaking Sash + low HP) or Acrobatics (Sash), but there's still Drill Peck. There is literally 0 reason to use Aerial Ace on Ninjask. Hell, since it was apparently a (failed) TG passer, Oblivion Wing or Aeroblast would have been better.

252 Atk Ninjask Aerial Ace vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 76-91 (22.2 - 26.6%) -- 25.2% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Ninjask Drill Peck vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 102-121 (29.9 - 35.4%) -- 27.3% chance to 3HKO
+3 252 SpA Ninjask Oblivion Wing vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 181-214 (53 - 62.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
