Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat

The Pinsir set may seem straightforward, but Illusion is a fantastic ability for mindgames. Granted, that's true for just about any Pokemon, but it's not left without an ability after Illusion breaks, since it develops Aerilate. The set is fairly standard for Pinsir, except for Close Combat - Aegislash isn't really seen in AAA, and Close Combat lets Pinsir batter Ferrothorn and Levitate Heatran. Jolly nature is used so that Mega-Pinsir's Quick Attack outpaces Staraptor's Gale Wings Brave Bird, doing enough to guarantee a KO after Stealth Rock.

Here are a few neat matchups that show how hard Pinsir can hit after it gets away with a Swords Dance:

+2 252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Suicune: 324-382 (80.1 - 94.5%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Refrigerate Dragonite Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Pinsir: 218-258 (80.4 - 95.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Return vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Dragonite: 514-606 (159.1 - 187.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Mega Pinsir Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Heatran: 412-486 (107 - 126.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
(Note that Chlorophyll Heatran outpaces Pinsir, but Pinsir wins every other time.)

+2 252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Keldeo: 422-500 (130.6 - 154.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Gale Wings birds (Honchkrow, Staraptor, Talonflame, Braviary) are a threat to just about any other Flying-weak sweeper. However, if you have Stealth Rock up, Pinsir's Quick Attack wipes out any Honchkrow, and any Staraptor with less than 136 HP EVs.

It's pretty easy to get a Swords Dance up while your opponent brings in a counter to the wrong thing, which lets Mega Pinsir crack teams open. It's probably already been done before, but I just find it useful and wanted to share. :3
Also, sorry for the extended post, I wanted to show calcs against some AAA threats I've encountered a lot. xD

I figure as a part of the AAA council I should post here.

Tough Claws Lucario

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Iron Tail
- Extreme Speed

Lucario is one of the most severely underrated threats in AAA out there. He is also the perfect Tough Claws sweeper due to swords dance and Extreme Speed. All of these moves are contact and with them he achieves almost perfect coverage. With the exception of a rare Aegislash pretty much nothing resists the combination. Iron Tail is somewhat negotiable with other moves, but it hits as hard as a super effective Ice Punch and almost as hard as a super effective Crunch, so it is generally the best choice. It is the only option that hits Cresseslia and Florges hard, so I think it is the best. Be aware you can not hit Slowbro very hard though. It easily wrecks stuff like Landorus anyways. Close Combat is straight up stupid, even without a boost it OHKOs stuff that doesn't resist. At +2 Extreme Speed can pick off stuff like Latias easily. It can also kill stuff that is somewhat bulky like Victini after rocks. Slower threats can get close combatted, evem a resisted CC will do more than Extreme Speed. Overall this thing is just really scary... Watch out!

Calcs:
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Lucario Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Suicune: 433-511 (107.1 - 126.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Lucario Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Cresselia: 351-413 (79 - 93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal
252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Lucario Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 347-409 (97.1 - 114.5%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Tough Claws Lucario Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Venusaur: 446-526 (122.5 - 144.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Meloetta @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 204 SpA / 56 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- U-turn / Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

The combination of Assault Vest and Regenerator allows Meloetta to pivot some of the most dangerous special attackers in the metagame, such as Sheer Force Gengar, Protean Nasty Plot Mew, and many other special attackers. 248 HP EVs gives Meloetta a Stealth Rock number. 56 SpD gives Meloetta a very notable increase to its special bulk. 204 Spa EVs and a Modest nature allows Meloetta to do great damage against many Pokemon it tends to pivots. Hyper Voice is a strong STAB move that can hit through Substitutes and is great at getting powerful neutral damage. Psyshock allows it to OHKO Gengar and damage many specially defensive Pokemon. U-turn works extremely well with Regenerator as it helps Meloetta provide momentum and allows it to deal good damage against Celebi. Focus Blast works well against Assault Vest Regirock and various Dark-types, such as Bisharp. Thunderbolt is very useful as it allows it to 3HKO Suicune and severely damage other Pokemon. All in all, Meloetta does face competition against Goodra, but greater offensive presence, U-turn, and a different typing which allows Meloetta to take on Protean Mew a lot better is enough to differentiate the two.

Heliolisk for A- Rank

Now to recap, this is a normal/electric pokemon whose only good stats are 109 spA and Spe, which also has a pitiful movepool.

Heliolisk @ Life Orb
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 spA / 4 spD/ 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Electrify
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power
- Focus Blast

Heliolisk's downsides are obvious, there's no mystery as to why it only appears on NU and monotype- normal teams. However, it has exclusive access to a very special attack.

The 20 PP electrify's move description: If the target is electrified before it uses a move during that turn, the target's move becomes Electric type. Relevant Tags (ignores magic bounce/ magic coat, does not ignore substitute)

Combined with lightningrod/motor drive/ volt absorb, this allows the user to absorb any attack, any status(including substitute beaters like taunt and encore), roar, whirlwind, and even defog. Lightningrod is superior to the other two for getting a special attack boost with each use of this psuedo protect.

Only three things can reliably beat such a pokemon.

1: Priority, prankster and gale wings help out here, especially with its crap defense in the case of brave bird.
2: Choice scarf, since it has to move first to use electrify, meaning base 110s are fine as well. Although a sticky web(which he can keep up by blocking hazard removal) means GG.
3: Unaware. The only pokemon that can stall him out of electrify PP as even assault vest users don't want to mess with +6 boosts.

Unreliable checks to him are mold breaker, which nerfs electrify spam so that it "only" removes your STAB and makes your attack not very effective. Sturdy/ focus sash for the usual reasons. Your own lightning rod/motor drive pokemon can also laugh at it.. but you're probably giving something up. Oh and Trace I guess. It's possible to try to predict him and set up in his face. Let's think about what other pokemon he can have on his team to make this pointless? Unaware phasers you say? How about coming in the first place? Obviously he can't take hits worth anything, so the only way to get him to his full potential is to have a slow u-turn/volturn poke.

Overall though, this pokemon, with only one set, becomes a viable anti meta core capable of using keldeo, garchomp, and suicune to begin its own sweep, while also preventing the likes of skarmory/zapdos/ and hetran from doing their jobs unless they give up their best abilities.

This has been thought up many times before you, so I don't think many people will give you credit. Either way it's still pretty gimmicky, considering the amount of priority, and fast protean's with Superpower like Deo-S and Thundurus.

Suicune @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

i don't know if this set was thought of but i think it pretty good

Cradily @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Gastro Acid
- Recover
- Seed Bomb / Giga Drain

Plain and simple, a stall lead that brings in Sand, Rocks, and sponges special attacks extremely well. Can also screw up a Suicune's day with Gastro Acid, recover off damage, and hit back with Seed Bomb. The reason I chose Seed Bomb was due to lack of Bulk Up/Defense boosting moves, while there is a quite a bit of Calm Mind thrown around, but you can go for Giga Drain if you want the recovery. Unfortunately, it doesn't take physical attacks very well (damn Keldeo and Bisharp, ruinin Cradily's day) and has a pretty notable fighting weakness. Despite that, it used to be a very decent wall (Not sure anymore, admittingly haven't played for a little while). Pairs well with Regirock due to sand support buffing his SpDef, and a fighting resistant pokemon to deal with Super Power / Close Combat.

+6 4 SpA Suicune Scald vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Cradily in Sand: 145-172 (38.5 - 45.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Choice Specs Heatran Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Cradily in Sand: 186-219 (49.4 - 58.2%) -- 62.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Cradily in Sand: 140-168 (37.2 - 44.6%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Adaptability Latios Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Cradily in Sand: 194-230 (51.5 - 61.1%) -- 94.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Any set involving overused abilities like Poison Heal, Regenerator, Tough Claws, Unaware, Sheer Force, Magic Bounce and Prankster is automatically uncreative and shouldn't be posted in this thread in my opinion.
It all boils down to "which pokemon has the better stats, type and movepool to abuse the best non-banned abilities".
