Sharing Is Caring (Kinda) Round 3 - Matezoide versus Tavok

Rules:
Bring 4, Pick 2 Singles. You PM 4 pokemons to the ref, but the battle will be 2vs2 singles. You will choose your mons as the battle develop.
ASB Arena
Strict 3-day Disqualification. You will get a single warning per round. After that, you go over DQ and you're done. Referees please tag the combatants when you have finished your reffing. Players, if you know you're going to be away you better post a Leave of Absence BEFORE you leave, or give a very good reason in case of an emergency.
Strict 4-day Disqualification for Refs. Same rules as above (one warning and then BAM). Also, you can be sure as hell that I will jump in to subref anyone if necessary. Also I reserve the right to DQ a ref under LoA if the respective match is taking way too long.
3 Substitutions.
Turn Order: Coin Flip
2 Recovery/5 Chills per pokemon
All Abilities
All Items
Switch=OK
Mega Clause: 1
PHAZING RULE: If a pokemon is sent back to the pokeball by a phazing move, the trainer (of the pokemon sent back obv.) chooses who will be the replacement
I-HATE-CENTRALIZATION RULE: The three species most used per round from r2 onwards are Banned for the remainder of the tourney. In case of a tie, the species brought the most is banned. If the tie persists then none of the species are banned (and you can't just ban both and be in the 3-mons-banned limit). For the record, the species banned until now are: Gardevoir, Dragonite and Pyroak.

Dark:
Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks.

Abilities:
Torrent:
When this Pokemon's HP is lower than 33%, the Base Attack Power of any water attack is increased by two (2). (eg Water Pulse goes from 6 to 8, Hydro Pump from 12 to 14)
Protean:
By default, this Pokemon switches their type before striking with each damaging attack to match the attack they are about to use, and keep that type until another damaging move is used. The energy cost for the attack is calculated based on their type before using the move. When toggled, the Pokemon reverts back to their natural typing. Pokemon that also have Color Change ability may select whether to keep their current type or the damaging attack's type each action.

No surprise to see Dogfish44 and Elevator Music have their pokemon stolen again. Who will win will be decided more on punctuality and trainer skill than strength of the pokemon.

Then Tavok will send out, equip, and order
Following that Matezoide will order

Well, I don't plan to lose either, so it seems that one of us isn't getting what he wants.

Also, thanks for equipping e-belt instead of scope lens. Those things are broken.

Kuchiito @ Mawilite, time to break stuff!

[Sheer Force ON]
[Mega-Evolve] Iron Head - Iron Head - Iron Head

- IF Counter THEN Taunt the first instance and Flash Cannon the remaining ones.
- IF Fly AND not in a combo AND you are slower THEN Counter the first and third instances and Stealth Rock the second.
- IF Encore AND not on A1 THEN Dodge. Only do so once.

Mega Maw, eh? A big annoyance, but not surprising.

Time to be annoying!

Fly -> Counter -> Encore

If for some reason the Encore sub wouldnt trigger because of taunt, change orders to Fly -> Encore -> Counter

The starting stolen pokemon for this battle will be Togekiss holding an expert belt and Mawile holding a Mawilite.

Mawile activates its Sheer Force while intimidating Togekiss. And then it Mega Evolved. I would think the Mega evolution would be more intimidating than its original intimidation tactics, but I'm not a Mawile so what do I know?

Togekiss starts the battle by flying up high and falling onto Mega Mawile for minimal damage. Mega Mawile returns this contact for a little more damage.

Then Mawile taunts Togekiss whom tries to counter the taunt.

Then Mega Mawile to to Dodge Togekiss' failed Encore turned into a struggle.
Mawile toggles Sheer Force

Mawile's Intimidate lowers' Togekiss' Atk.

Been sick for the better part of a week. So you get flavor that is a little bit better than how I feel. You will get better flavor when I feel better and don't want to puke all over my laptop.

Matezoide is up to order or switch

Damn man, i am sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will feel better soon.

Dont worry about the flavor, it is fine (Legitimately lol'ed at the Intimidate remark), just do what you can, alright?

Both battlers decide to switch to different stolen pokemon. Matezoide to Krilowatt holding a Life Orb and Tavok to Venusaur holding an Expert Belt.

Starting the battle, Krilowatt summons forth a whirlpool... on dry land. Or it was in a nearby pool of water. How a whirlpool in a nearby pool of water can hurt Venusaur on dry land is beyond me. But if I question things any longer the world will come crashing down and hurt inside. *cue Hulk Hogan's theme*. Venusaur launches a powerful ball of grass energy at Krilowatt, dealing nearly a fifth of Krilowatt's total health in damage. The whirlpool magically damages Venusaur.

Krilowatt expects a powerful attack on Venusaur's part, and is not disappointed with its Protective barrier. Venusaur responds by trying to drain the health from Krilowatt and heal itself. Why it needs to heal itself is beyond anyone's guess. And the whirlpool continues to magically damage Venusaur.

Krilowatt ends the round by chewing on some peppermint gum and whispering sweet nothings in Venusaur's ear, causing Venusaur to slow down. Not enough to prevent Venusaur from launchin another powerful ball of grass energy, but slow enough to move slower (shocking, I know. Getting slower equals getting slower. Amazing). And the whirlpool continues to magically damage Venusaur.

Action 1

Shouldnt Venu be slower for the round? Cant say i am familiar with stats changes, but it doesnt seem right.

Oh man i just remembered i cant switch Krillo out because of the switching rules.

Hahaha, oh man, what a choke.

I hate you.

Trace Chlorophyll!

Ice Beam -> Blizzard -> Ice Beam

If damaging Grass type move outside of a combo and you are faster, use Dive that action
If damaging Grass type combo, use Substitute (15) that action
If Light Screen is up, use Ice Punch that action

Lets see if we can salvage this fluke!

(If i can somehow Switch out, i would like to do so~)

That's the reason you should have used Volt Switch instead of Whirlpool.

Anyway...

Bide - Hold - Realease
- IF you are frozen THEN replace your following actions with Sleep Powder - Synthesis.

Pls don't miss that blizzard <3 And don't freeze...

Due to the rules of the tournament, Venusaur cannot switch out this round, forcing both pokemon to continue their fight to the death. I hope one of them dies. Mostly the Krilowatt. I have always wondered what electric shrimp tastes like with a little bit of a honey glaze.

Venusaur elects to bide its time, obviously in hopes of nuking Krilowatt and giving me a tasty meal. Krilowatt tries to freeze Venusaur. Because it was the ice age and not the massive meteor strike that killed the dinosaurs like Venusaur. It does a fair bit of damage to Venusaur. But not enough.

Venusaur continues to bide its time, while Krilowatt tries harder to freeze Venusaur. Luckily, it seems like Krilowatt hit Venusaur just right with the blizzard and dealt some extra damage.

Venusaur spent enough time biding, finally electing to unleash its reponse on Krilowatt, nearly killing the shrimp. Krilowatt must have thought Ohmagod before getting hit. But it was not enough to take out Krilowatt, which responded by trying to freeze Venusaur again.

This round looks like Venusaur dealt the most damage. However, I despise Venusaur, since it failed to give me the chance to eat a Krilowatt before PETP got involved.

Action 1
Venusaur Bides

Krilowatt's Ice Beam

Ok... let's try not to blow this.

Wait... COME ON ENDURE AND MAGIC GUARD!? FOR GOD'S SAKE!

Magical Leaf - Razor Leaf - Magical Leaf
- IF Krillowatt is in the evasive stage of a damaging evasive move, THEN Synthesis the first instance, Chill the second and Synthesis the third, pushing actions back.
- IF Mirror Coat when you are set to use Magical Leaf (even if it is through a sub), THEN Razor Leaf instead.
- IF Endure THEN Worry Seed - Magical Leaf - Synthesis, starting the action Endure is ordered.

PD: akela, loving the flavor. Seriously.

I really wanted to find some way to take down Venusaur with Krilo and survive in order to give Togekiss some extra breathing room...but i guess this will have to do!

The battle continues. Krilowatt tries to free Venusaur one last time, hoping for the lucky hit that will kill it. It fails. Venusaur proceeds to kill Venusaur with a magical leave right after PETP arrive at the arena. I guess I won't be getting the honey glazed shrimp.

Krilowatt's Ice Beam

Again, thanks for equipping E-belt on Togekiss: if it had been Scope Lens, this wouldn't have worked.

Matezoide sends Togekiss back into battle. I like its odds against the nearly dead Venusaur. This is a case of a one legged man in an ass kicking contest versus a man that does not care about the rules and brought five bengal tigers, a machine gun, and Kim Jung Il's right testicle.

Venusaur delayed the inevitable just long enough to set-up a protective barrier for its allies. Togekiss plotted something nasty like two gardevoirs one garbodor.

While Venusuar recovered from its barrier construction, Togekiss unleashed the bengal tigers and Kim Jung Il's right testicle and pecked it to death. Using the machine gun would have been overkill and that is seamingly forbidden.

Well done Venusaur! Maybe I should get one of your species myself?

Anyway...

Let's finish this Kuchiito!

[Sheer Force ON]
Iron Head - Iron Head - Iron Head

- IF Togekiss is in the evasive stage of a damaging evasive move when you would move THEN Sandstorm the first instance, Swords Dance the second and Substitute (15 HP) the third.
- IF Counter THEN Taunt the first instance, Torment the second and Chill the third.
- [ONLY ONCE] IF Encore AND Togekiss is not taunted AND not on A1 THEN Dodge.

PD: I think Light Screen should have 4A left instead of 5?

Mega Mawile returns to the field, now protected by Venusaur's Shell. Upon returning to the field, Mega Mawile's mere presence intimidated Togekiss. I should hope so. If a regular Mawile intimidates you, a suped up Mawile should as well.

Togekiss begins the round by removing the Corpse Shell of Venusaur. It did glancing damage to Mega Mawile. It actually would have done more damage if it struggled. Mega Mawile, being part steel-type, appears to be a fan of Heavy Metal. Because all Mega Mawile did this round was prance around, dancing like it was having a seizure, smacking its head about Togekiss repeatedly. Some how, this was super effective and nearly killed Togekiss.

Togekiss attempted to blast a torrent of flames at Mega Mawile twice, only succeeding on the first attempt. I suspect Togekiss is not long for this world. Now to figure out just what the hell Togekiss actually is. I have seen things in The Binding of Isaac that look more like real things than Togekiss does.

And it looks like we are near the end of it all. Togekiss tries one last blast of fire on Mega Mawile, which seems to hit it just right and burn Mega Mawile. But it was not enough, as Mega Mawile's ice cold punch was enough to place Togekiss in cryogenic storage. Tavok is the victor!
