Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, registered users and guests, even the occasional bot, welcome, one and all, to the first round of the ASBuddies Tournament! This match pits Mowtom and Gale Wing Srock of team MowWing against Pwnemon and Geodude6 of team Pwnemon + Geodude6! I'm not exactly the most experienced battler myself, so I'm going to hold off on the usual listing of the threats of each team, but rest assured, this will be an interesting match indeed!

Team MowWing:

Mowtom's half:

Reuniclus [Bubble] (F)

Mowtom found Bubble while traveling in the Unova region. Her mother belonged to Catlin of the Elite Four, but Bubble wanted to see the world. She did inherit one thing from her mother's trainer, however. Bubble enjoys battling, but she can have trouble staying awake, even during a battle.

Types: Psychic
  • Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities:
Overcoat / Magic Guard / Regenerator (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. The Pokemon is also immune to "Powder" moves. (Full List: Cotton Spore, Poison Powder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, Stun Spore.) If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather, or powder attacks by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).
  • This Pokemon is infused with a powerful psycho-electric energy that makes it immune to damage from Spikes, Stealth Rock, Hail, Sandstorm, Leech Seed, Poisoning, Burn, and Partial Trapping moves. It can still attack itself in confusion, and will still take damage from it. Additionally, the energy protects the Pokemon from its own reckless recoil attacks. Toxic still increases in damage each round, although if Magic Guard is in effect the Pokemon will not suffer any damage. Life Orb recoil is negated.
  • When this Pokemon is switched out during a switch battle, it reacts to the energy in the Pokeball and (ten) 10 HP is restored. When this Pokemon Chills, it restores six (6) HP in addition to its 12 Energy.

Togekiss [Joy] (F)

Mowtom first found Joy as an Egg left in a Pokemon Center by an unknown person. He took the Egg with him at the nurse's insistence. When she hatched, Joy was given that name for two reasons: to honor the nurse who gave Mowtom the Egg, and because she is always overflowing with, well, joy.

Types: Fairy / Flying
  • Fairy STAB: -1 EN on non-Fairy typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
  • Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.
Abilities:
Hustle / Serene Grace / Super Luck (Unlocked)
  • No default effect. When toggled, this Pokemon puts immense force and speed into its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.
  • This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack's secondary effects. (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt)

Mothra [Aurumoth] (F)
Nature: Sassy (+1 SpD, -15% Spe, -10% Eva)
Type:

: Bug STAB; Adds an additional guaranteed attack on all multi-hit moves (does not include two hit moves) with a total hit cap of five (5).
: Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Weak Armor: (Toggle) No default effect. When toggled, the Pokemon loosens its worn defensive armor so that it will break off when an opponent uses a contact attack, reducing the Pokemon's Defense and increasing their Speed by one (1) stage for each hit.
No Guard: (Passive) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.
Illusion: (HA unlocked, Passive) Whenever you send this Pokemon out, it can feign the appearance of another member on your squad. If this Pokemon is damaged by a direct attack, the Illusion will cease at the end of the round. Direct damage is any attack that does damage to the Pokemon's HP. Attacks that are evaded, blocked via Protect, or damage a Substitute are not considered direct damage. It will retain the typing and moveset of the Pokemon with Illusion. [Usage Note: PM the ref if you are sending out a Pokemon with Illusion with the info on said Pokemon and one of your squad members in a Switch=KO battle. You must use that squad member later in the battle though.]

If Gengar is under the effects of a successful P/E move, and you are about to target it with Mud Shot that action, use Bounce(Pyroak) on the first instance and Knock Off(Pyroak) on the second instance, pushing actions back each time.

If Gengar is ordered to use Trick Room, and you are not under the effects of Taunt and Gengar is not under the effects of Taunt, use Taunt(Gengar) that action instead and push actions back.

If Pyroak is ordered to use damaging grass type combinations, targeted at you, and you are not under the effects of Taunt, and you do not have a substitute up, use Substitute(15 HP) that action instead and push actions back.

Sorry about how long it's been since you ordered. I probably won't be able to post the round tonight, but I have a draft saved up for it, which I most likely be able to finish tomorrow. If you don't feel like waiting any longer, though, feel free to procure the services of a subref.

Just like most battles, this one starts as the trainers grab their Pokeballs and send out their respective Pokemon, but unlike most battles, four Pokemon hit the field: Joy-Togekiss, Joey-Colossoil, Ambrose-Pyroak, and Goh-Gengar. That's right folks, this battle is part of the one and only ASBuddies Tournament, and should prove quite interesting indeed! This is all I really have to say about this part of the round, though, so I don't blame you for skipping right to the calculations or the flavor text I've written for actions 1-3 instead of reading this.

Gengar quickly builds up a charge of electricity and fires it at Togekiss, afflicting the latter with temporary paralysis. This, however, attracts the attention of Colossoil, who launches a spray of mud at the phantom, knocking it away and impairing its movement speed thanks to the mud's quick-drying properties.

Togekiss, stretching its wings, manages to act through its disabled state, and promptly sends a blade of wind towards Pyroak, although its target's hard, wooden armor takes the edge off of the attack. Pyroak ignores this, though, and crashes straight into Colossoil, striking a weak point and dealing a grievous blow.

Gengar readies itself to engage in sneaker tactics, and it gets its chance soon after as Colossoil, sensing an impending attack from Pyroak, begins to create a substitute doll to serve as a shield. Despite the hardened mud that locks its to the stadium floor, the ghost experiences no trouble in quickly flying over to the substitute and snatching it away from its creator. However, because it had to interrupt the technique while the doll was still forming and not yet linked to any particular Pokemon, Gengar suffers considerable exertion, both mental and physical, as a result of spending its own energy to create the substitute.

Togekiss attempts to attack Pyroak, but its paralysis seizes up and prevents it from acting.

Pyroak, who had been resting up until this point in preparation of a great attack, suddenly springs into action. As it lifts its arms, a mass of vines and undergrowth bursts out of the floor around Colossoil, sending the mighty narwhal sprawling to the ground and dealing massive damage.

Although in desperate conditions health wise, Colossoil manages to muster the energy necessary to cause a rock slide that tumbles down on its enemies, although Gengar's stolen substitute shields it from the attack.

Gengar immediately retaliates with a blast of energy that leaves Colossoil teetering on the brink of consciousness.

Pyroak is left cooling down from the powerful attack it performed on the previous action, and thus is an easy target for Togekiss, who sends a second blade of wind at it, dealing considerable damage.

Action 1:
Gengar used Thunder Wave (Togekiss)
Togekiss was Paralyzed (25%)
-7 energy

Colossoil used Mud Shot (Gengar)
[to crit <625] 5117 no
[(7 + 3 + 3 - 4.5 + 1) * 1.5] = 14.25 damage
Gengar's Speed fell (-1 Speed)
-3 energy

[paralysis check <2500] 2804 no
Togekiss used Air Slash (Pyroak)

Action 2:
Gengar used Snatch
Gengar is preparing to Snatch a move

Colossoil used Substitute
Gengar stole the move (Note: I couldn't really find anything on this other than what might be considered common sense, so I'm just going to assume that the snatcher has to pay the HP cost when snatching Substitute. Let me know if I'm incorrect and, if so, I will fix it as soon as I can.)
Gengar put in a substitute (-15 HP) (-16 energy)
-12 energy

[paralysis check <2500] 1443 yes
Togekiss is paralyzed! It can't move!

Pyroak used Grass Knot + Grass Knot combo (Colossoil)

Colossoil used Rock Slide
[to crit Gengar <625] 8853 no
[to flinch Pyroak <3000] 4495 no

-6 energy

Banned deucer.
You calculated everything using gar's non-mega stats. You also messed up rock slide's bap (8*3/4 = 6, not 6.5). Also, pyroak has 4 defense.

I will admit that the Defense error was a mistake and that Rock Slide's power was a typographical error that I forgot to fix and wound up implementing, but, unless I'm missing something, nowhere in Geodude6's send out post or orders did he specify that he was Mega Evolving Gengar, so regular Gengar it stays. The other errors have been fixed, though.

"No beginners luck?"
"Well, we neither have the skill, nor the experience and definitely Pwnedude have all the hax with him."
"Do you also want to order second again?"

"Jo!" ~ "No!"

IF Goh the Gengar has a substitute up when you would act on action 3, use Rock Slide (Both) that action instead.
If Goh the Gengar is KO'd before you would act on action 3, redirect to Sableye.

If Joy the Togekiss is fully paralysed on all actions, curse the luck of Pwnedude!
