Overview
########

Togepi has always been held back was limited in previous before this generations due to it's by its typing and the ubiquitious amount of Fighting-type Pokemon in the metagame. However,(AC) this generation it recieved a type change to Fairy, which traded one weakness and immunity for two weaknesses,(AC) and three resistances,(AC) and a different immunity. Even with this massive change, Togepi's well-(add)rounded bulk with and strong coverage options make it a stellar supporting Baton Passer.

Baton Pass
########
Togepi @ Eviolite
Ability: Hustle
Level: 5
EVs: 236 HP / 156 Def / 76 SpD / 36 Spe
Bold Nature
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot / Work Up
- Wish / Morning Sun
- Dazzling Gleam

Moves
========

Baton Pass is a safety net of sorts, it can that helps you Togepi pass out swap to another teammate who can deal with the issue it's facing. Oor it can be used to pass on pass two different boosting options. Nasty Plot will doubles Togepi's somewhat usable Special Attack and will always benefit a specially based offensive recipient. Work Up,(AC) however,(AC) will boosts both offensive stats by one stage, making it easier to choose who to pass it off the boosts to. Wish can also be passed off, healing whoever comes in. Morning Sun is solely for healing Togepi reliably,(AC) but it will work in a as it has more immediacy than Wish faster amount of time. Finally, Dazzling Gleam gives is a powerful STAB option to hit the opposition with.

Set Details
========

The EV spread provides Eviolite numbers after the Bold nature increase as well as letting you Togepi outspeed Foongus and Wynaut, as they will cause you much strife by locking you down. (I'd specify how they lock Togepi down, else remove this sentence) The HP EVs are to ensure you Togepi takes less damage from Stealth Rock on the as you switch-(add)in.

Usage Tips
========

Fighting-types will be your go to switch in are Togepi's go-to switch-in opportunities. Be sure to not come in on those with Poison-type coverage like such as Croagunk,(RC) or Pancham. A clear field clear of entry hazards will keep Togepi at optimal health to stay in. You should also avoid Poison-types as well since they are tedious to set up on and to stay in on. The Togepi's slow Baton Pass out will aid your its recipient by giving it a free entry without being hurt.

Team Options
========

First and foremost, Togepi needs to have team support. (This is a given and does not need to be stated) Defog support from Vullaby will ensure safe passage onto the field. Vullaby can also pick off Foongus.(add space)If you would rather use Rapid Spin to keep your entry hazards active, then Drilbur will also suffice.(add space)It also has the added bonus of handling Poison-types. Fighting-types like such as Pancham and Timburr are able to scare away Pawniard as well as help break down those who carry Poison-type coverage. Abra and Elekid make excellent recipients of boosts,(AC) as each of them can gain a massive wealth opportunity to sweep from Nasty Plot and Work Up,(AC) respectively.

Other Options
########

The main set can opt to run Fire Blast to get past as an answer for the Steel-types that resist Dazzling Gleam like such as Ferroseed and Pawniard. Flamethrower can also be used instead of Fire Blast, as it's more accurate and has more PP,(AC) but it's less powerful. Psychic is a great choice for beating the Poison-types who that resist Dazzling Gleam such as Foongus and Trubbish. Togepi does have more coverage options and could utilize a Nasty Plot set,(AC) which uses Stored Power and Ancient Power as the main attacking moves instead. Another thing Togepi has in stride is support moves. Encore and Yawn are good phazing moves that often forces switches, while Mirror Coat bounces back deflects entry hazards and volatile statuses. Reflect and Light Screen help mitigate damage and Counter will can demolish any physical attackers silly enough to push Togepi around. Finally, Softboiled is another healing option. It isn't hampered by the current weather condition and has more PP than Morning Sun. It'(remove)s only downfall is that it's illegal with Nasty Plot.

Checks & Counters
########

**Phazing**: Clear Smog is a massive hamper to Togepi's success. Not only does it hit you super effectively,(AC) but it also robs you Togepi and Baton Pass recipients of your their boosts. Roar and Whirlwind users like such as Hippopotas can also take away boosts from Togepi and its teammates, though they don't deal damage not only what you have but what you've passed on to others.
(add empty space)
**Taunt**: Taunt is another heartstopper to Togepi's plans. users such as Froakie, Mienfoo and Onix all can freely outspeed and eliminate your Togepi's ability to escape via Baton Pass. Mienfoo,(AC) however,(AC) is weak to Fairy-type moves, so take advantage of it'(remove)s moment of weakness.
(add empty space)
**Encore**: Buneary and Binacle will implore you to take their Choice item which will in turn weaken your defenses and lock you into one move. (What do you mean take their Choice item? I don't think you describe Encore users here...)
(add empty space)
**Steel-type Pokemon**: Pawniard and Ferroseed both have a hazard to set up and Knock Off to eliminate your Togepi's item, respectively. They will usually employ Iron Heads to deal the most damage to you.
(add empty space)
**Poison-type Pokemon**: Foongus,(AC) while being slower than Togepi, can use Spore and Clear Smog you, forcing you Togepi to start over. Trubbish,(AC) however,(AC) will take the time to nail you Togepi with Gunk Shot and or start Spikes stacking.
(add empty space)
**Stat Drops** Moves and abilities that force stat drops like such as Intimidate and Parting Shot will ruin your Work Up recipient,(AC) as they wont be gaining any Attack boosts when they come in. Taking time to acquire more boosts will leave your team open to more trouble as well.

Abra and Elekid make excellent recipients of boosts,(AC) as each of them they can gain a massive oppurtunity to sweep from with a boost from Nasty Plot and or Work Up, respectively.

Other Options
########

The main set (there's only one set, so this sounds odd) Togepi can opt to run Fire Blast as an answer to the Steel-types that resist Dazzling Gleam (you can change Pawniard to another Steel-type that resists Dazzling Gleam instead of making this change, but I'm pretty sure you'd still use Fire Blast mostly just for those two, so I think this is better) such as Ferroseed and Pawniard. Flamethrower can be used instead of Fire Blast,(AC) as it's more accurate and has more PP, but it's less powerful. Psychic is a great choice for beating the Poison-types that resist Dazzling Gleam such as Foongus and Trubbish. Roar and Whirlwind users such as Hippopotas can take away boosts from Togepi and it's its teammates,(AC) though they don't do damage.

**Taunt**: Taunt users such as Froakie, Mienfoo and Onix can freely outspeed Togepi and eliminate Togepi's its ability to escape via Baton Pass. Mienfoo, however, is weak to Fairy-type moves,(AC) so you can take advantage of its moment of weakness.

**Switcheroo and Trick**: Buneary and Binacle will implore force Topepi to take their Choice item which will in turn weaken it's its defenses and lock you it into one move.

**Steel-type Pokemon**: Pawniard and Ferroseed both have a hazard to set up and Knock Off to eliminate Togepi's item, (RC) respectively (I'm not sure if you mean that Pawniard can Knock Off Togepi's item and Ferroseed can set up hazards on it or that they can both do both. I think it's the latter, but if I'm wrong, just switch the order of Pawniard and Ferroseed and leave in ", respectively"). They will usually employ Iron Head to deal the most damage.

**Poison-type Pokemon**: Foongus, while being slower than Togepi, can Spore and Clear Smog, forcing Togepi to start over. Trubbish, however, will take the time to nail Togepi with Gunk Shot or start Spikes stacking Spikes.

**Stat Drops** Moves and abilities that force stat drops such as Intimidate and Parting Shot will ruin your Work Up recipient, as they wont gain any Attack boosts as they come in. Taking time to acquire more boosts will leave your team open to more trouble as well.

well wouldn't Super Luck be the used ability I mean it has almost no use but can be useful in some situations for a higher crit rate dazzling gleam

If anything the most "useful" is Hustle because it prevent Porygon from getting any sort of freebie from Trace.

You dont want Serene Grace Tri Attack / Psychic while you're boosting and you dont want Super Luck either. Also the gamble of critical hits is kind of not worth it in my opinion.

Ehh softboiled slashed somewhere? By wish/morning sun maybe? (I guess it's forced if you're using work up)
Softboiled is incompatible with Nasty Plot. Im pretty sure I put that in the analysis and it was mentioned before in this whole thread.

Wish and Morning sun dont have illegalities with Nasty Plot and i dont want to toss Softboiled up at the end of the set. It would look tacky.

Just slash it second and explain it's only usable with Work Up in the analysis, or at worst give it a moves mention. Then you have np and morning first slash, work and soft second slash, wish as a wildcard on either. If someone refuses to read through the analysis (i.e. the worst-case scenario), the set will just be rejected for illegality.

Also looking tacky is a realllllllly bad reason not to improve the set, and softboiled>morning sun on work up is a clear improvement.

Edit: wha...why not Super Luck? The big bad Porygon?

236+ SpA Porygon Tri Attack vs. 236 HP / 76 SpD Eviolite Togepi: 7-10 (30.4 - 43.4%)

And that's offensive, which usually runs Download anyhow. Defensive?

0 SpA Porygon Tri Attack vs. 236 HP / 76 SpD Eviolite Togepi: 7-9 (30.4 - 39.1%)

In short, if someone switches Porygon into Togepi, say thanks to the nice opponent, then stack boosts and heal. If you have wish, you only get 1 free boost (what a crying shame). Against everyone else, enjoy the extra 6.25% crit rate
