Lol I feel wack that I forgot about Super Fang, given so many mentions of it. I had used that set myself (very poorly I guess) and was kinda disappointed so I omitted it. Oh, the irony...There's enough submissions that I'm not gonna go back and tack Super Fang on there cause it'd force so many people to change their entries. Oh well...consider yourselves saved I guess?

Or keep posting mons that can still stop Glalie in the event it does run Super Fang, as some of you did. That'd be mighty cool too.

Rotom-H is a great CHECK to Mega-Glalie. Rotom-H can take any hit that's not explosion without any HP or defense investment. Plus earthquake does abolutely zero (unless you run some weird gravity team ;-;) so if you run the scarf Rotom set you can OHKO with overheat without any SPA investment. I would call this a complete counter, but explosion can OHKO if Rotom isn't physically defensive or it's taken stealth rock damage/weakened. Although if the Rotom IS physically defensive, it can live an explosion after stealth rocks so that's something to think about. But Rotom can do a lot of work against Glalie,

Calcs: (don't worry I remembered to change Glalie's stats to the megas)
252 Atk Refrigerate Glalie Double-Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Rotom-H: 114-134 (47.3 - 55.6%) -- 75% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Refrigerate Glalie Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-H: 83-98 (27.3 - 32.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 Atk Refrigerate Glalie Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-H: 172-203 (56.5 - 66.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 SpA Rotom-H Overheat vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Glalie: 354-416 (117.6 - 138.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

And that's my check. Hope you 'enjoyed'.

Well no one else has said anything about Rotom-H or anything on this forum in fact, and I already made my post about 20 min. after that. And I sorta already posted everything about Rotom-H so... :I
I put it in the OP in bold capital letters not to change your reservation

Rotom-Heat @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain split

Rotom-H resists the ice type moves, is immune to earthquake and isn't ko'd by Explosion. An uninvested overheat easily kills Glalie as well. Rotom would only lose to mega-glalie if it switched into a super fang and was then hit by an explosion.

Calcs:
252 Atk Refrigerate Mega Glalie Explosion vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-H: 172-203 (56.7 - 66.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Refrigerate Mega Glalie Double-Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-H: 83-98 (27.3 - 32.3%) -- 79.9% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Rotom-H Overheat vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Glalie: 354-416 (117.6 - 138.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reserving Shedinja Aromatisse as counter

Aromatisse @ Leftovers
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Aromatherapy

Aromatisse is the more physically defensive of the fairy wish passers available in UU. It finds its way onto teams in UU that need counters to hard hitting physical threats like Absol. Aromatisse comes in for free at any point in the game and really doesn't care about what Absol is going to do. Even a +2 Play Rough, Absol's most powerful move listed here, fails to 2HKO the perfume bottle. Meanwhile, Aromatisse OHKOs Absol without fail thanks to its solid base 99 Special Attack stat.

+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Aromatisse: 192-227 (47.2 - 55.9%) -- 23% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Aromatisse Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Absol: 306-362 (112.9 - 133.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Why you don`t have Iron Tail? that move was legit and it was decently common pre Play-Rough to nail the Fairys, and with Play Rough I would say its as legit as Superpower even

anyway Mega Aggron as a Hard Check

Aggron-Mega @ Aggronite
Ability: Filter
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 136 Def / 64 SpD
Impish Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

Aggron after Mega Evolving can come up on any of Absol Moves as long as its not already at +2 and the Mega Absol has Superpower. The Atack investment allows you to always OHKO with a Heavy Slam but its not 100% needed since the only variants that can threaten you are Superpower who will be at -1 Defense which means its a sure OHKO but take a note that due to Aggron lack of reliable recovery the extra dmg can stink a bit.The reason why its not a counter its because the lack of recovery alongside with the reliance on being already Mega to beat Superpower Variants

Offensive Calcs
56 Atk Mega Aggron Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 273-322 (100.3 - 118.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
56 Atk Mega Aggron Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 152-179 (55.8 - 65.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Deffensive Calcs
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Mega Aggron: 96-114 (27.9 - 33.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Mega Aggron: 44-52 (12.7 - 15.1%) -- possible 7HKO
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Filter Mega Aggron: 177-208 (51.4 - 60.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Mega Aggron: 118-139 (34.3 - 40.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Banned deucer.
Mega Aggron as a hard counter. And why the fuck does Mega Glalie weigh almost 800 pounds?

Aggron-Mega @ Aggronite
Ability: Filter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave

Mega Bitch-tits can do what it wants to try and break Aggron, but the best move it has to beat Earthquake (itself a 5HKO with five consecutive maximum damage rolls) is Explosion, which, uh, yeah. Or Hidden Power Fire, but that's not listed and is also still a 4HKO.

Because Glalie is for some reason absurdly heavy, Heavy Slam only hits with 40 BP, but that in itself still has a 70% chance to 2HKO (46.5 - 55.8%), and you paralyze with Thunder Wave, set up Stealth Rocks, etc. Basically, Mega Aggron laughs at Mega Glalie.

252 Atk Refrigerate Glalie Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Aggron: 96-114 (27.9 - 33.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 Atk Refrigerate Glalie Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Aggron: 46-55 (13.3 - 15.9%) -- possible 7HKO
252 Atk Glalie Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Filter Mega Aggron: 60-72 (17.4 - 20.9%) -- possible 5HKO
4 SpA Glalie Freeze-Dry vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Aggron: 54-63 (15.6 - 18.3%) -- possible 6HKO
4 SpA Glalie Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Filter Mega Aggron: 93-109 (27 - 31.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO Listed instead of Ice Shard because I think it's funny.

4 Atk Mega Aggron Heavy Slam (40 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Glalie: 140-168 (46.5 - 55.8%) -- 70.7% chance to 2HKO
You can use Iron Head by the way ^_^.

I reserve Suicune.
I meant Granbull sorry! I thought we were on Glalie still! 1 min edit plz let me change!

reserving Whimsicott as Check

Whimsicott @ Choice Specs
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Moonblast
-Energy Ball
-U turn
-Memento/Trick

Absol can't KO offensive Whimsicott with Play Rough + Sucker Punch, while Whimsicott can bop it back with Moonblast. Whimsicott is just a really fantastic option atm since it has really considerable offensive/defensive typing, as well as a great support movepool which allows it to do a shitton of things.

252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Whimsicott: 125-148 (47.8 - 56.7%)
252 Atk Mega Absol Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Whimsicott: 84-99 (32.1 - 37.9%)
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Whimsicott: 166-196 (63.6 - 75%)

Holy shit how did i not see that whims was taken already lol

Cobalion as Check

Cobalion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 160 HP / 96 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Close Combat
- Volt Switch

Cobalion is a pretty good check to Mega Absol, as it can tank a good number of hits from Mega Absol and easily decimate it back with Close Combat.

In order to understand why it's a check instead of a counter, it's important to look at these calcs:

Ok we know any Dark move is not going to do anything, so I'll calc Play Rough instead.

252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 160 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 88-104 (24.2 - 28.6%) -- guaranteed 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 160 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 175-207 (48.2 - 57%) -- 73.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Ok, so there are two usual situations if Cobalion switches in immediately.
  1. Mega Absol Sword Dances on the switch.
  2. Mega Absol Play Roughs on the switch.
In either situation, Cobalion wins. It's clear that the only way Mega Absol can win is if it hits Cobalion on the switch with a +2 Play Rough. This is a worst possible scenario, so I think it's enough to call Cobalion a check.

and yeah, Cobalion is a great SRer that can Taunt and pivot with Volt Switch yada yada yada,,,

Mawile as a Counter

Mawile @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Play Rough
- Stealth Rock
- Substitute
- Baton Pass

Yeah Mawile beats Absol if it has taken no prior damage besides hazards. The most damage Absol can do to Mawile is if it Superpowers twice, doing a maximum of 52%. Play Rough always OHKOs Absol after Superpower drops, and has a great chance to do so with no drops or prior damage.

-1 252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 29-35 (9.5 - 11.5%) -- possible 9HKO after Stealth Rock
-1 252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 32-38 (10.5 - 12.5%) -- possible 8HKO after Stealth Rock
-1 252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 78-92 (25.7 - 30.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
If Absol SD's on the switch:
+1 252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 65-77 (21.4 - 25.4%) -- 50.2% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 71-84 (23.4 - 27.7%) -- 100% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 175-206 (57.7 - 67.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

In return:
8 Atk Mawile Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 258-306 (95.2 - 112.9%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
8 Atk Mawile Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 258-306 (95.2 - 112.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
8 Atk Mawile Play Rough vs. -1 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 390-458 (143.9 - 169%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Edit: Shaymin :D I'm pretty sure Cobalion is still considered a counter because it always beats Absol if you switch it in immediately. Unless you play poorly and leave something in on Absol when you have a counter to it, there is no scenario where you will be taking two +2 play roughs
Edit 2: oh yeah superpower

Reserving Rhyperior as Check instead

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP, 16 Atk, 240 Def
Adamant Nature
-Earthquake
-Rock Blast
-Roar
-Stealth Rock

Highly underrated 'mon in the UU metagame. It does its job consistently enough with its solid physical bulk, and against Mega Absol, it's no different.

252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Rhyperior: 118-139 (27.1 - 32%)
252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 144-171 (33.1 - 39.4%)
252 Atk Mega Absol Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Rhyperior: 97-115 (22.3 - 26.4%)

+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 288-340 (66.3 - 78.3%)
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Rhyperior: 234-276 (53.9 - 63.5%)

Rhyperior can take a beating, after it switches into a Swords Dance or anything like that

16+ Atk Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 243-286 (89.6 - 105.5%)

Any prior damage and Mega Absol gets OHKO'd

16+ Atk Rhyperior Earthquake vs. -1 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 364-429 (134.3 - 158.3%)

Any defense drop and it's also OHKO'd

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Earthquake
- Scald
- Recover
- Toxic

252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 142-168 (36 - 42.6%) -- 94.6% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 94-112 (23.8 - 28.4%) -- 96.7% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 117-138 (29.6 - 35%) -- 14.7% chance to 3HKO
0 Atk Quagsire Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 142-168 (52.3 - 61.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Quagsire Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Absol: 93-109 (34.3 - 40.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

I'm not a fan of overly specialized counters, which is why this is Leftovers Quagsire (standard) instead of item-less. No combination of attacking moves is going to 2HKO Quagsire, Recover heals more than enough even without Leftovers and Unaware makes Sword Dance useless. Surprisingly Quagsire easily 2HKOes Absol with Earthquake, however you can go for the Scald burn so you can Recover stall and keep Quag really healthy (75%+).

There's not much to say here, Absol simply can't do anything.

Chesnaught as a check.

Chesnaught @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Spiky Shield
- Spikes
- Wood Hammer / Hammer Arm

Combining his good bulk and typing, Chesnaught does not only tanks Mega Absol's main STABs and coverage pretty well, as it can scare Mega Absol easily, since Chesnaught both STABs hits Absol with a great power.

The only real situations that gives problems to Chesnaught, happen when he takes a Play Rough (and the underrated Fire Blast) in the switch, specially considering the fact of Chesnaught doesn't have a reliable form of recovery, and it can't depend of Leech Seed because of Magic Bounce. So he can't switch in too many times into Mega Absol, along with the Knock Off + residual damage from Stealth Rock in the progress of the match.

However, if Mega Absol decides to forgo Play Rough, Chesnaught represents a hard stop against Absol, taking only ~50%~ from Superpower at +2, and giving a 2HKO / OHKO against Absol easily, with Wood Hammer / Hammer Arm, respectively.

Defensive Calcs:

252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 138-164 (36.6 - 43.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Sucker Punch vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 91-108 (24.1 - 28.6%) -- 0.4% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 110-130 (29.1 - 34.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Superpower vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 182-215 (48.2 - 57%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Mega Absol Play Rough vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 274-324 (72.6 - 85.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Offensive Calcs:

0 Atk Chesnaught Wood Hammer vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 207-244 (76.3 - 90%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Chesnaught Hammer Arm vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Absol: 344-408 (126.9 - 150.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
