Overview
########

Beedrill's Attack and Speed increase drastically upon Mega Evolving, turning what is arguably one of the worst Pokemon in the game into a terrifying glass cannon with the stats and ability to make its attacks really sting. Despite its newfound stat increases and ability making its STAB attacks incredibly powerful, it has poor coverage and still remains incredibly frail. On top of its frailty, it has a weakness to Stealth Rock that limits the number of times it can come in.

U-turn
########
name: U-turn
move 1: Protect
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Knock Off / Drill Run
ability: Swarm
item: Beedrillite
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Moves
========

Protect is a necessity seeing as Beedrill does not get the Speed boost on the turn it Mega Evolves. Protect also enables it to scout movesets, Choice items, and potential priority attacks. U-turn is Beedrill's go-to move to gain momentum and just a very powerful move in general to get chip damage. Poison Jab is Beedrill's strongest attack and has a great secondary chance of poisoning the opponent. Poison along with Protect helps Beedrill wear down opposing Pokemon. Knock Off is one of the most versatile moves in the game and does exceptionally well against stall. Using Knock Off on Steel-types with Shed Shell can allow a Magnet Pull or Shadow Tag user to trap them later on in the game. Knock Off really excels at dealing with a lot of Beedrill's checks; Landorus-T, Heatran, and Magnezone do not appreciate their items being removed, and Gengar gets OHKOed by it.Meanwhile, Drill Run is primarily for Steel-types without Levitate, such as Heatran, Excadrill, and Magnezone, that resist both Beedrill's STAB attacks.

Set Details
========

The difference in power is evident when you change natures. Adamant Beedrill's Poison Jab is capable of OHKOing Mega Lopunny and Mega Charizard X/Y, while Jolly Poison Jab is always a 2HKO. When choosing Beedrill's nature, take into account the rest of your team's Speed. A spread of 252 Atk / 80 Def / 176 Spe with a Jolly nature allows Beedrill to take priority hits from Choice Band Azumarill and Life Orb Mamoswine while still outpacing Mega Manectric and Mega Lopunny. However, a spread of 252 Atk / 44 Def / 212 Spe allows Beedrill to take an Aqua Jet from Azumarill while still outpacing Timid Choice Scarf Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

This set is incredible at maintaining momentum, so utilizing it with entry hazards is a great way to weaken the opposing team little by little. Try to keep entry hazards off your side of the field. Beedrill is quite frail and has a chance to get OHKOed by priority users such as Mamoswine and Dragonite after just one switch into Stealth Rock.

Team Options
========

Landorus-T and Rotom-W work pretty well as a core with Beedrill. They're both great pivots and have access to U-turn and Volt Switch respectively. Magnezone and Gothitelle pair up very nicely if Beedrill is utilizing Knock Off for Shed Shell Steel-types. Magnezone also has the ability to form a VoltTurn core with Beedrill. Choice Scarf Magneton may not be as powerful or bulky as Magnezone, but it is capable of outspeeding base 115 to 130 Speed Pokemon that Magnezone cannot outspeed. Latias, Latios, and Excadrill are great partners for keeping Stealth Rock off the field, (comma) which ultimately gives Beedrill more opportunities to stay in the game.

Other Options
########

X-Scissor is a decent option if you are not concerned with momentum. With Adaptability, the difference in power between X-Scissor and U-turn is quite evident.

Checks and Counters
########

**Stealth Rock**: Beedrill is a glass cannon, it likes to utilize U-turn to avoid taking hits. It is pretty difficult to land a hit on it directly due to its great Speed and U-turn, so but keeping up Stealth Rock will limit it to four switches.

**Priority and Choice Scarf Users**: Beedrill may be fast, but it will not be able to outspeed Choice Scarf users with over 80 base Speed. It has pitiful defenses, so priority attacks will deal significant damage to it.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types resist Beedrill's STAB attacks and force it to rely on its coverage move to deal damage to them.

**Physical Walls**: Landorus-T, Gliscor, Alomomola, Skarmory, and Mega Scizor can all take a hit from Beedrill, and some are immune to poison. Be wary of the combination of Knock Off and a trapper for Skarmory, however.

Beedrill is difficult to check with defensive Pokemon or Pokemon that resist its moves because of its ability to U-turn out without taking any damage.

Mention in cons that it has to run protect limiting it's coverage. In terms of OO I would reccomend giving fells stinger, swords dance, and brick break. It's still work in progress but this is just my 2 cents for now.

Also, pursuit is a good other option too, despite knock off being a little more useful.

Well, actually I take that back, it seems that the only pokemon he can pursuit trap is celebi, maybe lati@s, and gothitelle. All of which get recked by U turn

I don't know if it outspeeds any particular choice scarfers, but I would mention that jolly Max speed ties or outspeeds most mega sceptile, as they tend not to run max speed. Ofc if it is, then they speed tie.

Is Magnezone worth mentioning as a partner, due to trapping steels Beedrill has problems with and non-scarf variants having a slow volt switch for Beedrill to get in safely?

i dont think fell stinger, SD or pursuit are viable options. its too vulnerable to priority to run stinger or SD and pursuit may not Bee worth it considering u-turn momentum is superior most of the time and pursuit takes up a crucial slot.

ill talk about magnezone as a partner yea

Jolly should be slashed first, as it lets you outspeed +1 Adamant Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Manectric.

I think X-Scissor should be mentioned in OO, since sometimes you might not want to switch out and the damage difference from U-turn is more noticeable with Adaptability.

You should mention that knock off is Beedrills best option against Gengar seeing as though poison jab 4HKO's most Gengar sets while knock off safely OHKO's all sets after rocks.

Hi I think steel types that can't be hit by drill run should be in check & counters. Eg. Skarmory is immune to 2 attacks and x4 resists 1.
Also Air Balloon variants of Heatran, Excadrill, Magnezone make it impossible for beedrill to stay in!

Set

deslash adamant, you need the speed with mega lopunny being so common and outspeeding +1 gyara/altaria is really useful

Moves

mention knock crippling scarf lando-t and that being a pretty big selling point of running it. also it hits gengar which is pretty useful because it can check mega beedrill in certain situations otherwise.

mention specific targets for drill run because you certainly aren't hitting all steel-types

Set Details

for spread with defense (which is really useful btw because even just a few evs makes an enormous difference like surviving azu's cb ajet), you should put 252 atk / 44 def / 212 spe, which outruns timid scarftran, a benchmark you miss out on with the spread you currently mention.

Team Options

should mention latios and sr drill for their ability to get rid of rocks, which wear at beedrill really quickly and generally limit its ability to function effectively over the course of a match.

Checks and Counters

landorus-t, gliscor, mega scizor, landorus-i, skarmory, balloon excadrill, skarmory, and alomomola need to be mentioned in some form

in general this seems kinda sparse on detail. spruce it up a bit; talk a bit more about how to use it, include more teammates, etc; you need more detail in general. holding off on approval for this.

I would actually slash Knock Off before Drill Run. Knock Off just comes in handy more often imo : while Drill Run does hit Heatran, Magnezone and Excadrill, Knock Off hits Gengar (should be mentioned) and has more overall utility in crippling Scarfers who switch in (mainly Lando-T, but also Keldeo to a lesser extent). And Knock Off still cripples defensive Heatran sets which rely on Leftovers as its only form of recovery so it's not completely useless vs Heatran either. Same goes for Magnezone, it doesn't particularly enjoy losing its Scarf or even its Specs.

Plus, If you're using Beedrill then chances are you're using Magnezone/ton too since it's such a fantastic Beedrill partner, in which case it only makes sense to run Knock Off to remove stray Shed Shells.

im not too sure on deslashing adamant. i really like it for the damage output. the repeated u-turns really do add up. the difference in damage really matters then as a result. Checks and counters are weird to explain with beedrill because you primarily use u-turn to deal chip damage. But i did mention gliscor/scizor at the moment.

Adamant gets outsped by +1 (Mega) Gyarados and Mega Manectric, preventing you from revenging or breaking Mega Gyarados' Sub before getting hit.

imo in C&C you could just make a section phyiscal walls with these examples of landorus-t, alomomola, gliscor and skarmory. mega scizor can be mentioned too i guess, but exca needs another place.

You should include in the overview that mega Beedrill is hindered due to the fact that it has to run protect in order to make up for it's slow speed upon mega evolving. This limits it's almost near perfect coverage and limits it's offensive presence.

The difference in power is evident when you change natures. Adamant Poison Jab is capable of knocking out OHKOing Mega Lopunny and Mega Charizard X/Y, while Jolly Poison Jab is always a 2HKO. Choice Scarf Magneton may not be as powerful or bulky as Magnezone, but it is capable of outspeeding base 115 to 130 Pokemon that have base speeds between 115 and 130 that Magnezone cannot outspeed. Lati@s Latias, Latios, and Excadrill are great partners for keeping Stealth Rock off the field which ultimately gives Beedrill more opportunities to stay in the game.

X-Scissor is a decent option if you are not concerned with momentum. With Adaptability,(AC) the difference in power between X-Scissor and U-turn is quite evident.

Checks and Counters
########

**Stealth Rock**: - <- same format for rest of c+c Beedrill is a glass cannon so it likes to utilize U-turn to not have to avoid taking hits. It is pretty difficult to land a hit on it directly due to its great Speed and U-turn,(AC) so using passive damage with keeping up Stealth Rock will limit it to 4 switches.

**Priority and Choice Scarf users** - Beedrill may be fast, but it will not be able to outspeed Choice Scarf users with over 80 base Speed. It has pitiful defenses so priority attacks will deal significant damage to Beedrill's health.

**Steel-types** - Steel-types resist Beedrill's STAB attacks and has forces it to rely on its third coverage move to deal damage to them.

**Physical Walls** - Landorus-T, Gliscor, Alomomola, Skarmory, and Mega Scizor can all take a hit from Beedrill and some are immune to the Poison. Be wary of the combination of Knock Off and a trapper for Skarmory.

Beedrill is difficult to check with defensive Pokemon or resists because of its ability to U-turn out without taking any damage.
