Chansey

Overview
########

With Eviolite, Chansey has incredible special bulk and decent physical bulk, making her a very durable support Pokemon. Her enormous base 250 HP stat allows her to pass large Wishes to her teammates, often healing them back to full health. Access to numerous support options such as Heal Bell, Stealth Rock, Toxic, and Thunder Wave means Chansey can support the team in many ways. Chansey's main flaw is that she is incredibly reliant on Eviolite, meaning she lacks the passive recovery of Leftovers and is quite vulnerable to users of Knock Off and Trick. Furthermore, she has no offensive presence outside of Seismic Toss, which can render her setup bait versus dangerous foes. Despite this, Chansey's excellent walling and support capabilities still make her an excellent choice for stall or balanced teams.

Wish Support
########
name: Wish Support
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect / Soft-Boiled
move 3: Heal Bell / Toxic
move 4: Seismic Toss
ability: Natural Cure
item: Eviolite
evs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Wish allows Chansey to heal herself as well as her teammates, which will often be restored to full health thanks to Chansey's incredible base 250 HP stat. Protect guarantees that Chansey can restore her own health with Wish and lets her stall out foes with Toxic if she runs the latter; it can also be handy to scout for moves such as Trick and Knock Off, which could otherwise cripple Chansey. Soft-Boiled is another option that gives Chansey instant recovery, making her much harder to wear down. Heal Bell allows Chansey to rid herself and her teammates of status; alternatively, Toxic gives Chansey a method of wearing down the foe. Seismic Toss is the move of choice in the last slot, as it allows Chansey to get chip damage on the foe.

Set Details
========

Eviolite is mandatory, as it gives Chansey immense special bulk while also shoring up her weaker Defense. Natural Cure is the preferred ability because it allows Chansey to recover from any status effects upon switching out. The EV spread boosts Chansey's Defense and Special Defense, maximizing the effect of Eviolite; in any case, her massive HP stat makes it unnecessary to invest in HP. A Bold nature is used to improve her physical bulk. An alternative spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD can be used to pass larger Wishes while still boosting her physical bulk, but this detracts from her special bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Chansey is best sent in against special attackers such as Stratagem so she can perform her supporting duties more easily. She is prone to being worn down by residual damage, so it is important to play safe with Chansey and keep her healthy at all times so she can continue to check threats throughout the game. If using Protect, make sure to scout for potential users of Knock Off and Trick, as these moves heavily cripple Chansey.

Team Options
========

Tomohawk is an amazing partner for Chansey. Chansey hates Knock Off and setup sweepers, both of which Tomohawk can handle with ease thanks to its Fighting typing, Prankster Haze, and reliable recovery; in return, Chansey can handle strong special attackers for Tomohawk. Cyclohm is another Pokemon that pairs well with Chansey, and it also forms an effective stall core alongside Tomohawk with its ability to take on physical attackers, especially Flying-types, which can trouble both Tomohawk and Chansey. Gothitelle makes for a good partner if Chansey is being used on a stall team, as this allows you to slowly pick the opposing team apart with Shadow Tag. Defoggers such as Zapdos and Skarmory tend to pair well with Chansey, as they can remove entry hazards and prevent Chansey from taking residual damage.

General Support
########
name: General Support
move 1: Soft-Boiled
move 2: Heal Bell / Stealth Rock
move 3: Toxic / Thunder Wave / Stealth Rock
move 4: Seismic Toss
ability: Natural Cure
item: Eviolite
evs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
nature: Bold

Moves
========

Soft-Boiled gives Chansey reliable recovery, preventing her from being worn down. Heal Bell allows Chansey to act as a cleric and rid herself and her teammates of status. If your team needs a Stealth Rock setter, Chansey can do so effectively thanks to her great bulk, which gives her plenty of chances to set it up. Toxic gives Chansey a way to wear down opposing Pokemon, while Thunder Wave is another option to slow down the foe and cripple opposing setup sweepers. Seismic Toss gives Chansey a way of dealing reliable damage and prevents her from becoming complete Taunt bait.

Set Details
========

Eviolite makes Chansey incredibly bulky, giving her a 1.5x boost to both of her defensive stats. Natural Cure is the preferred ability, as it allows Chansey to rid herself of status upon switching out. The EV spread maximizes Chasey's Defense and Special Defense, taking full advantage of the boost provided by Eviolite. A Bold nature improves Chansey's physical bulk. An alternative spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD can be used to increase Chansey's physical bulk. However, this does detract from her special bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Chansey checks nearly any special attacker lacking Psyshock or Secret Sword and should perform her supporting duties versus these Pokemon. She lacks the passive recovery of Leftovers, so keep her healthy with Soft-Boiled so she can continue to provide team support and check special attackers throughout the match.

Team Options
========

Tomohawk pairs quite well with Chansey, as it can easily take on Knock Off users and several setup sweepers thanks to its Fighting typing, Prankster Haze, and reliable recovery. In turn, Chansey can check special attackers for Tomohawk. Cyclohm also fits well in a stall core with Tomohawk and Chansey, as it can handle Flying-types for the two quite easily. Entry hazard removers pair well with Chansey, as they can prevent Chansey from being worn down by residual damage. Defog users such as Zapdos and Skarmory are good choices, but a Rapid Spin user such as Colossoil is preferred if Chansey is using Stealth Rock on her set.

Other Options
########

Chansey doesn't have many viable options outside of the sets listed. Counter can be used to get a surprise KO on physical attackers such as Colossoil, but she doesn't have much room for the move.

Checks & Counters
########

**Trick Users**: Pokemon with Trick such as Rotom-W, Mollux, Aurumoth, and Gothitelle can all remove Chansey's Eviolite and cripple her with a Choice item. Gothitelle in particular is an excellent check, as Chansey will be unable to switch out due to Shadow Tag.

**Knock Off Users**: Pokemon that run Knock Off such as Colossoil, Bisharp, and Landorus can all remove Chansey's Eviolite, significantly reducing her bulk.

**Taunt Users**: Taunt users such as Tomohawk, Kitsunoh, and Gengar can completely prevent Chansey from doing her job. Kitsunoh and Gengar in particular are immune to Seismic Toss thanks to their Ghost typing, rendering Chansey completely helpless against them.

**Fighting-types**: Strong Fighting-types such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Revenankh can threaten to KO Chansey with their STAB Fighting-type attacks.

**Setup Sweepers**: Setup sweepers such as Mega Scizor and Mega Altaria can easily use Chansey as setup bait.

First, most Kitsunoh's run (or at least should run) limber specifically for this reason. Kitsunoh is basically a hardcounter to chansey especially if it runs knock off and taunt. Gothtitelle also hardcounters chansey, so I would put it in C&C. I feel that if you don't run wish, there's not really a 4th move, so I would clarify the exact set you would run without wish or simply make a new set entirely. Cyclohm, tomo, chansey core is debatably the best stall core in the metagame, so I would mention that in here somewhere, probably under team options. It also pairs well, like most stall pokemon in cap, with gothitelle as you can pick apart the enemy team.

It's a good start.

Seconding what animus said, and also adding that mentioning tomo twice in different places for team options is redundant.

Made updates based on everyone's suggestions -- thanks! And I agree that the current set might be a bit cluttered. If it's agreed on that there should be two sets (Wish Support and General Support), then I'll go ahead and split it up.

You tended to repeat the same phrases again and again in some places, but the rest was solid.
