VGC RMT VGC 2015

Hello Guys the first time im posting something here :) I just recently made this team and was playing on battle spot doubles and vgc 2015 on showdown with it im still trying to improve it.

Politoed @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 220 HP / 172 Def / 4 SpA / 92 SpD / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Helping Hand
- Encore

One of my defensive pokemons and it also helps lucario with fire types because of the rain and is also pretty nice vs other weather teams to change it (sun teams). Bulky Set with Scald to potentielly burn, Helping Hand to Support and Encore to trap Aegisslash or Trickroom Users and Ice Beam for Coverage.

Calculations:

4 SpA Politoed Scald vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Talonflame in Rain: 168-200 (109 - 129.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 220 HP / 172+ Def Politoed: 117-138 (60.6 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Ludicolo @ Assault Vest
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 108 HP / 148 Def / 124 SpA / 12 SpD / 116 Spe
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Giga Drain
- Fake Out

Always good when the rain is up therefore mostly only played in concunction with Politoed to use it to the maximum effect with his ability. Stab Hydro Pump and Giga Drain deal a good amount of dmg and Fake out is good for Pressure or potentielly free setup turn for another pokemon.

Calculations:

124+ SpA Ludicolo Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 180-216 (97.8 - 117.3%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

Lucario (F) @ Lucarionite
Ability: Inner Focus
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 60 HP / 92 Def / 108 SpA / 4 SpD / 244 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Vacuum Wave
- Flash Cannon
- Detect

My Mega Pokemon. I Always liked Lucario and hes fitting pretty good into the team (fast, can setup and hits extremly hard). with this EV spread you outspeed regular Gengar, Scarf Machamp, and Garchomp, and to always survive Jolly Garchomp Earthquake, also you can setup with a fake out user :)

Calculations:

+2 108 SpA Adaptability Mega Lucario Vacuum Wave vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kangaskhan: 212-252 (117.1 - 139.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

108 SpA Adaptability Mega Lucario Vacuum Wave vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kangaskhan: 108-128 (60 - 71.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 108 SpA Adaptability Mega Lucario Flash Cannon vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Sylveon: 280-332 (139.3 - 165.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

108 SpA Adaptability Mega Lucario Flash Cannon vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Sylveon: 140-168 (69.6 - 83.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

108 SpA Adaptability Mega Lucario Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mawile: 138-164 (87.8 - 104.4%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 60 HP / 92 Def Mega Lucario: 128-152 (83.6 - 99.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Heat Wave vs. 60 HP / 4 SpD Mega Lucario in Rain: 122-146 (79.7 - 95.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 60 HP / 4 SpD Mega Lucario: 145-172 (94.7 - 112.4%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Play Rough vs. 60 HP / 92 Def Mega Lucario: 145-172 (94.7 - 112.4%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Sucker Punch vs. 60 HP / 92 Def Mega Lucario: 43-51 (28.1 - 33.3%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO

Liepard (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Fake Out
- Foul Play
- Encore

Good other Lead Pokemon in Case i dont bring the rain - so only used when politoed and ludicolo are not. Liepard is fast has prankster and is a good pokemon in general imo. Foul Play can deal good dmg , Taunt for other prankster users or trick room users aswell as Encore. Fake Out for Pressure once again - Focus Sash for maybe a Free Turn (if there is not mega kangha)

Calculations:

0 Atk Liepard Foul Play vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kangaskhan: 79-94 (43.6 - 51.9%) -- 13.3% chance to 2HKO

+2 0 Atk Liepard Foul Play vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kangaskhan: 157-186 (86.7 - 102.7%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

Hydreigon (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 12 HP / 108 Def / 132 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Protect
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse

The other Special Attacker on my Team Hydreigon. He has Levitate which makes him immune to earthquake which comes in handy with a steel type on my team also he hits extremly hard with life orb. A Max attack jolly garchomp dragon claw is never a OHKO even with 1 lifeorb usage

Calculations:

252 Atk Garchomp Dragon Claw vs. 12 HP / 108 Def Hydreigon: 134-158 (79.2 - 93.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

132 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 296-351 (161.7 - 191.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

so another problem is rotom-w. you cant OHKO a bulky rotom-w with this hydreigon espacielly cuz of sitrus berry. but in this scenario you can just Dark Pulse without triggering the Sitrus and KO with draco meteor in the following turn:

132 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 148+ SpD Rotom-W: 60-71 (38.2 - 45.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

132 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 148+ SpD Rotom-W: 97-114 (61.7 - 72.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

I wanted another fast hitter on my team but on the physical side and also with a spreadmove (in my case even 2 EQ and rockslide) nothing special with the EVS - Jolly max speed max attack with a choice scarf and also iron head to cover annoying fairy types (4 times weak on hydreigon and no real resistens x-X)

Calculations:

252 Atk Garchomp Iron Head vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir: 248-294 (89.2 - 105.7%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

252 Atk Garchomp Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Charizard Y: 156-188 (101.9 - 122.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Garchomp Rock Slide vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 172-204 (111.6 - 132.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW ADDITION:

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

This is a very solid team, and after giving it a few runs, I would suggest you opt for Landorus-T instead of Garchomp as a scarf user, as it benefits your team by reducing a fairy weakness, hits noticeable harder, as well as giving you a better pivot + Intimidate which will really help Lucario setup since Landorus attracts a ton of attention. It helps your team by reducing the need for defensive investment because it functions incredibly well as a pivot Intimidate abuser, so now you can squeeze out more power from Hydreigon (letting you and Ludicolo, and it also gives you another one of the coveted Earthquake immunities.

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Rock Slide

Pretty basic EV's, but I'm sure you'll find a better spread that works for your team if you opt to use it. Really cool team though, good luck in your battles.

Yeah i was thinking Landorus would work well, i wanted to use an intimidate user orginally and well landorus is really working in nearly every team :) it feels like the team is stronger now with the addition.

nothing special really i kept the Moveset as it is and just changed a little bit in the EV's. i took the 40 EV's from speed since in that gap you dont outspeed anything crucial as far as i know and dumped it into HP so you may get a little boost to surive a hit or make a 2 hit KO a 3 hit KO.

bump anyone else has an oppinion or maybe some new strategies or calcs for 2015 since im not really sure what are the biggest new threats in vgc :)

Outrage on lando is a option over superpower but locks you un for 2-3 turns.

Also see thundorus

Outrage is only an option technically, and shouldn't be used on any serious team, not sure why you even mentioned it. For one, like you said it locks you in for 2-3 turns making you use a mediocre coverage move (Dragon is not a great typing coming from non-stab users), secondly, Superpower offers superior coverage, hitting Normal types, Ice types hard, and gives you options to hit Rock and Steel types without using Earthquake in situations where you can't risk using EQ.

As for the Thundurus suggestion, the key niches that Liepard has over Thundurus (Fake Out + Encore) are going to be hard to replace, and I think justify the choice. However, the option of using a more offensive Prankster user could be useful. For that role, here's a set I use myself that works quite well

Thundurus @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 52 SpA / 148 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Protect
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt

I can't remember what the EV's do exactly, though I think it can live a Kangaskhans Fake Out + Return almost 100% of the time, 3hko'd by Adamant Lando's Rock Slide, and can take a Timid zard Fire Blast, and isn't 2hko'd by Heatwave if you factor in Sitrus. Speed outruns max 70's, and the rest went into SpA. Though you can take out EV's from SpA and put them into Def (252 HP / 52 Def always lives LO Terraks Rock Slide).
