[OVERVIEW]

Whimsicott's unique Fairy / Grass typing and diverse movepool allow it to function effectively as a support or offensive Pokemon in the UU tier. With access to Prankster, all support moves gain priority. Usable Special Attack makes Whimsicott a natural check against the many Choice-locked and setup Dragon-types in the tier, such as Haxorus and Hydreigon. A blistering Speed allows Whimsicott to outspeed all base 115 Speed Pokemon and lower, such as Azelf. However, Whimsicott is not powerful enough to take on opposing checks, despite outspeeding them. Furthermore, its Special Defense leaves much to be desired, and it is easily worn down by even the weakest of special attacks.

move 2: Stun Spore / Tailwind / Leech Seed
move 3: Moonblast / Giga Drain
move 4: U-turn / Leech Seed

evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Encore is used to force the opponent to repeat the previously chosen move, usually to Whimsicott's advantage. Stun Spore is used to further cripple faster Pokemon, such as Crobat or Mega Aerodactyl, as well as other Pokemon that rely on their Speed niche, such as Mega Swampert and Yanmega. Tailwind allows slower wallbreakers to force past faster checks. Leech Seed is used to apply pressure on the opponent's team to wear them down. Giga Drain can be used as a recovery option alongside Leech Seed; however, Moonblast is a generally the better option for attacking Pokemon such as Haxorus or just assisting in whittling down the foe's HP with Leech Seed. Leech Seed + Moonblast and Leech Seed + Stun Spore are both perfectly viable options. U-turn is a decent option that allows for a momentum shift should Whimsicott find itself in a bad matchup, and it pairs well with Prankster Encore.

Set Details
========

248 HP EVs maximize Whimsicott's overall bulk while still retaining an odd HP value, allowing for an extra use of Substitute should you decide to run it. 252 Defense EVs improve Whimsicott's defensive bulk, and prevent many physical attackers, such as Choice Scarf Mienshao, from racking up damage on Whimsicott. The remaining EVs are put into Speed in order to outspeed neutral-natured maximum Speed base 85s such as Modest Nidoking and Adamant Heracross. Prankster is a fantastic ability that turns all of Whimsicott's support moves into priority moves. Leftovers is used for passive recovery and significantly improves the effectiveness of Leech Seed and Substitute. A Bold nature should be used with Moonblast, and an Impish nature should be used otherwise.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Whimsicott in on a setup sweeper or support move user where Encore can be used. Use Stun Spore on switch-ins for long-term success. U-turn if the matchup becomes poor or if the obvious switch calls for a momentum shift. Prankster Encore + U-turn is extremely effective at gaining offensive momentum.

Team Options
========

Whimsicott is an easy-to-fit support Pokemon that can work on many different kinds of teams. It partners well with offensive pivots such as Crobat, Infernape, Mienshao, and Darmanitan, providing support for U-turn strategies. Whimsicott also teams up well with defensive pivots such as Forretress, Gligar, and Ampharos for their ability to draw out setup sweepers and wallbreakers. Whimsicott is an exceptionally good partner for offensive Dragon-types, such as Hydreigon that often need to fall back on Whimsicott's support moves. Lastly, Whimsicott appreciates Rapid Spin support from Pokemon such as Tentacruel, Donphan, and Forretress.

Moves
========

With Life Orb, Moonblast OHKOes every Dragon-type bar Dragalge and Mega Ampharos. Energy Ball is a powerful STAB move for the many Ground- and Water-types in the tier. Giga Drain is an alternative choice that provides decent recovery, regardless of which item is used; however, the power decrease as compared to Energy Ball is noticeable. Encore forces the opponent to repeat the previously chosen move, usually to Whimsicott's advantage. U-turn is used to pivot out of a bad matchup. Tailwind can be used over one of these moves in order to give slower wallbreakers the opportunity to break through faster teams.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs ensure that Whimsicott revenge kills successfully or at least hits something reasonably hard on the switch in, bar special walls such as Blissey and Florges. 252 Speed EVs allow Whimsicott to hit a unique base 116 Speed tier, allowing it to pivot against the majority of the tier. Prankster is a fantastic ability that turns Whimsicott's support moves into priority moves, and it is especially effective for luring setup sweepers. Life Orb is generally the primary option in order to give Whimsicott reasonable wallbreaking capability. Leftovers can be used alongside Giga Drain to retain some defensive pressure, despite this being an offensive set. Stun Spore can be used over Encore as a last-ditch option for offensive teams to combat fast sweepers.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Whimsicott in on a setup sweeper or support move user where Encore can be used. Revenge kill Dragon-, Water-, and Ground-types. U-turn out if the matchup becomes poor or if the obvious switch calls for a momentum shift. Prankster Encore + U-turn is extremely effective at gaining offensive momentum.

Team Options
========

This set partners well with offensive pivots such as Crobat, Infernape, Mienshao, and Darmanitan as well as defensive pivots such as Forretress and Gligar. Whimsicott appreciates Rapid Spin support from Pokemon such as Tentacruel, Donphan, and Forretress.

Moves
========

Moonblast OHKOes every Dragon-type bar Dragalge. Giga Drain is an alternative choice that provides decent recovery; however, the power decrease as compared to Energy Ball is noticeable. Energy Ball is a powerful STAB move for the many Ground- and Water-types in the tier. Switcheroo is ideal against many setup sweepers, especially when paired with Infiltrator. Switcheroo is also effective against special walls, such as Blissey, that otherwise work around Whimsicott's attacks. U-turn is used to pivot out of a bad matchup. Psychic can be used to surprise Poison-types such as Crobat. Hurricane can be used as a surprise against Grass-type and Fire-type checks, hitting significantly harder than Moonblast or Energy Ball.

Set Details
========

Infiltrator is the chosen ability for this set, as Whimsicott's unique base 116 Speed allows it to stop many setup sweepers from effectively setting up. Choice Specs allows for optimal revenge killing and decent wallbreaking with Whimsicott's unique offensive typing. Stun Spore can be used over Encore as a last-ditch option for offensive teams to combat fast sweepers.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Specs Whimsicott is best used to revenge kill Dragon-, Water-, and Ground-types. It can also prevent setup sweepers from setting up effectively with Switcheroo, crippling the foe with a Choice Specs. U-turn out if the matchup becomes poor or if the obvious switch calls for a momentum shift.

Team Options
========

Whimsicott partners well with offensive pivots such as Crobat, Infernape, Mienshao, and Darmanitan, providing a unique addition to an offensive U-turn core. It also teams up well with defensive pivots such as Forretress, Gligar, and Ampharos for their ability to draw out setup sweepers and wallbreakers. Lastly, Whimsicott appreciates Rapid Spin support from Pokemon such as Tentacruel, Donphan, and Forretress.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Psychic, Hurricane, and Shadow Ball are decent attacking options that hit some of Whimsicott's checks, such as Crobat, Amoonguss, and Doublade, respectively. Other support options include Endeavor, Memento, Knock Off, Sunny Day, and Cotton Spore. Infiltrator with Life Orb can be used in order to bypass the foe's Substitute.

Checks & Counters
=================

**Fire-types**: Entei, Darmanitan, Arcanine, Chandelure, Rotom-H, and Choice Scarf Infernape all beat Whimsicott with their powerful STAB moves.

**Steel-types**: Aggron, Forretress, and Bronzong completely wall Whimsicott and can take it down with a Heavy Slam or Gyro Ball.

**Flying-types**: Whimsicott struggles against Pokemon such as Crobat and Mega Aerodactyl, which can beat it with their strong Flying-type STAB attacks. Crobat also carries Infiltrator to get past a potential Substitute. Noivern can prove problematic with its STAB Hurricane and access to Flamethrower, despite being weak to Moonblast.

**Fast Special Attackers**: Mega Pidgeot and Alakazam are notable examples of quick special attackers that can beat Whimsicott; however, Stun Spore can cripple them.

Whimsi time :D let's do this!

Support set:

- 8 EVs in should always go into speed IMO, they're not doing anything for its Sp Def while the ability to outspeed Adamant Hera is massive.
- U-turn should be the primary option in the fourth moveslot, momentum is priceless and with Leech Seed + Encore Whimsi is going to force a ton of switches. So U-turn / Substitute / Taunt should be the order here.
- Leech Seed is not a necessity on the set, as a set I've seen and used quite commonly is Encore / Stun Spore / Moonblast / U-turn. So slash LS with Moonblast, as Leech Seed + Moonblast, Leech Seed + Stun Spore, and Moonblast + Stun Spore are all perfectly viable.
- Specifically mention that Bold should be used with Moonblast and Impish without.

Attacker:
- Naive should never be used as U-turn is not meant for dealing damage, it's for retaining momentum. Just Timid is fine.
- The order of slashes for the second slot should be Giga Drain / Energy Ball to correspond with the items. GD is better with Life Orb so it doesn't get worn down too easily, while EB is better with Lefties.
- Mention in set details that Stun Spore can be used over Encore as a last ditch option for offensive teams to combat fast sweepers.

I think Specs deserves its own set man. The damage output is a significant step up from LO, and the fact that Specs takes advantage of Infiltrator and Switcheroo and can utilise Psychic to smash its common switch-ins means that it plays a lot differently than the standard attacker. This is just in my experience though, so I'm open to input from other QC members.

Also for both sets you've only stated that U-turn is used to pivot out of a bad matchup, but a great way to use it is to lock something into a useless move with Encore and then use U-turn to gain momentum as the opponent switches. So be sure to mention this as it's one of Whimsi's best traits. You've sort of stated it in usage tips for the first set but mention the usefulness of Prankster Encore + U-turn.

Last minor thing, you've mentioned Psyshock in OO with Whimsi doesn't get, think you meant Psychic. There's a lot of stuff to implement so I'll give you a check once it's all done n_n

k validate me.

ps. 12 minutes.

Also King UU you said "Moonblast OHKOes every Dragon-type bar Dragalge alongside Life Orb." but that's not right. 252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Ampharos: 265-312 (82.5 - 97.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO <- that's no bulk at all

- Mention Tailwind as an option in Moves for the Life Orb Attacker.

- Don't slash U-turn with anything on the Specs set, once again momentum is priceless. Switcheroo is the more "slashable" of the two, so slash it with Psychic and Hurricane. Psychic for destroying Poisons, Hurricane for the reasons you stated.

- Mention how Switcheroo is effective for crippling common special walls that might switch in such as Blissey.

- Whimsi doesn't learn Psyshock, replace it with Psychic in Other Options.

- In C&C Fire-types there's no need to mention Scarf specifically for Chandy or Rotom-H as they beat it whatever the item. So remove that. Fine for Infernape who takes a lot from Moonblast.

- In C&C special walls mention that they don't like being Switcheroo'ed a Choice Specs.

I dont really see much practical use in sub or taunt on the main support set, you can mention subseed in OO.

As for the support set, I would arrange the moves as follows

-Encore
-Stun Spore / Tailwind / Leech Seed
-Moonblast / Giga Drain
-U-turn / Leech Seed

Switch Whimsicott in on a setup sweeper or support move user where Encore can be used. Use Stun Spore on switch-ins for long-term success. U-turn if the matchup becomes poor, (remove comma) or if the obvious switch calls for a momentum shift. Prankster Encore + U-turn is extremely effective at gaining offensive momentum.

Team Options
========

Whimsicott is an exceptionally good partner for offensive Dragon-types such as Hydreigon that often need to fall back on Whimsicott's support moves, such as Hydreigon. Lastly, Whimsicott appreciates Rapid Spin support from Pokemon such as Tentacruel, Donphan, and Forretress.

Moves

With Life Orb, Moonblast OHKOes every Dragon-type bar Dragalge and Mega Ampharos. Energy Ball is a powerful STAB move for the many Ground- and Water-types in the tier. Giga Drain is an alternative choice that provides decent recovery, regardless of which item is used; however, the power decrease as compared to Energy Ball is noticeable. Encore forces the opponent to repeat a the previously chosen move, usually to Whimsicott's advantage. U-turn is used to pivot out of a bad matchup. Tailwind can be used over one of these moves in order to give slower wallbreakers the opportunity to break through faster teams.

(period)

Usage Tips
========

Switch Whimsicott in on a setup sweeper or support move user where Encore can be used. Revenge kill Dragon-, Water-, and Ground-types. U-turn out if the matchup becomes poor, (remove comma) or if the obvious switch calls for a momentum shift. Prankster Encore + U-turn is extremely effective at gaining offensive momentum.

This set partners well with offensive pivots such as Crobat, Infernape, Mienshao, and Darmanitan as well as defensive pivots such as Forretress and Gligar. Once again, Whimsicott appreciates Rapid Spin support from Pokemon such as Tentacruel, Donphan, and Forretress.

Infiltrator is the chosen ability for this set, as Whimsicott's unique base 116 Speed allows it to stop many setup sweepers from effectively setting up. Choice Specs allows for optimal revenge killing and decent wallbreaking with its Whimsicott's unique offensive typing. Stun Spore can be used over Encore as a last-ditch option for offensive teams to combat fast sweepers. (period)

Usage Tips
========

Choice Specs Whimsicott is best used to revenge kill Dragon-, Water-, and Ground-types. It can also prevent setup sweepers from setting up effectively with Switcheroo, effectively (not a big problem but you use "effectively" here twice and very close to each other, so maybe swap one out) crippling the foe with a Choice Specs item. U-turn out if the matchup becomes poor, (remove comma) or if the obvious switch calls for a momentum shift.

Other Options
=============

Psychic, Hurricane, and Shadow Ball are decent attacking options that hit some of Whimsicott's checks, such as Crobat, Amoonguss, and Doublade, respectively. Other support options include Endeavor, Memento, Knock Off, Sunny Day, (comma) and Cotton Spore. Infiltrator with Life Orb can be used in order to bypass the foe's Substitute.

Checks and Counters
===================
