In the berry fields of Kalos, pokemon battles can take place. While everything needed for a normal pokemon battle is present, pokemon can grab berries from the trees and use them.
When a pokemon is sent out, it may hold any berry in addition to its normal held item. Trick and Switcheroo can switch the berry for the berry, normal item for normal item, or both for both. If a pokemon loses or eats its berry, is sent out with no berry equipped, or has no held berry for any other reason, it may grab any berry of its choice for 1 action and 2 energy.
