Hydreigon ORAS Doubles

Hello everybody, this is ElegyOfVGC, and I'm doing an ORAS Doubles Hydreigon Skeleton, if you haven't read the title. Hydreigon is an extremely versatile mon, but it's slightly hard to play. If you can use it well, you will ruin dreams with it.

Overview
########

- Dark-Dragon typing is extremely useful and can be used in so many cores.
- It's move pool is extremely vast, including Draco Meteor, Dark Pulse, Earth Power, Fire Blast/Flamethrower, Flash Cannon, Taunt, Focus Blast, and Surf.
- It has some decent bulk, which works in tangent with it's nice defensive typing.
- It wins in many 1v1 situations.
- It's hard to be scary when you have a 4x weakness to the ever-popular fairy type.
- Paralysis destroys it, as it almost has to move or it will miss out on many opportunities
- 98 Speed is not great, as it barely misses out on base 100, so you can't really out speed much.
- It's weak to all weather, as it can't do much to the mons that abuse it.
- It's not very powerful, and needs a boost to do anything really.
- The rising popularity of Sylveon, Thundurus-I, Terrakion, and other checks causes Hydreigon to really need to rely on it's team to pull it's weight.

Standard Specs
########
name: Standard Specs
move 1: Dark Pulse
move 2: Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Fire Blast / Dragon Pulse
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Specs
evs: 40 HP / 24 Def / 212 SpA / 232 Spe
ivs: 0 Atk
nature: Modest

Moves
========
- Dark Pulse will be your primary and consistent STAB move.
- Draco Meteor combined with specs can bring almost anything to it's knees.
- However, if you'd rather have consistent damage, go with Dragon Pulse > Draco Meteor. That's not recommended though because this set is designed to destroy things.
-

Set Details
========
- Survives 252 Adamant Mega Kang's Return
- Outspeeds 252 Neutral-Nature Kyube
- Rest of the evs dumped into Special Attack and given a modest nature to maximize damage output.
Usage Tips
========
- You will be switching a lot, do not stay in if it is not necessary.
- Specs causes your opponent to lose a lot of momentum, so take advantage of that and strike or set up.
- Do not switch in if you have momentum built up, as chances are you are going to have to switch out again. Specs Hydreigon works great as a neutralizer.
- If you feel like you can destroy a mon that threatens your team, do it. Draco Meteor that poor helpless thing.

Team Options
========
- Due to the nature of choice items and Draco Meteor, you will be switching, so you need a good defensive core, with mons that can face fairies and other Hydreigon checks.
- Mons that can switch into Thunder Wave are great.
- Rain and Sun neutralizers such as Charizard work well with Hydreigon.

Choice Scarf Hydreigon
########
name: Choice Scarf Hydreigon
Move 1: Dark Pulse
Move 2: Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
Move 3: Earth Power
Move 4: Flash Cannon / Fire Blast
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 68 HP / 240 SpA / 200 Spe
ivs: 0 Atk
nature: Modest

Moves
========
- Standard Dark Pulse for STAB
- Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor because Draco Meteor gets the same 2hkos as pulse without a boost, while Dragon Pulse is more consistent with them.
- Earth Power hits tran and other steels.
- Fire blast for Amoonguss and Brelooms.
- Flash Cannons to lure Mega Diancie, since Earth Power doesn't OHKO.

Set Details
========
- Outspeeds 252 adamant Landorus-T to avoid flinches since that always sucks.
- 240 Special attack because it's practically the same as 252 but not wasteful.
- The rest of the evs were dumped into HP.

Usage Tips
========
- Scarf Hydreigon is more of a situational mon then anything. Set up those situations.
- With a scarf and Pulse moves, you will not be switching out as often. Only switch if you have an unsavory match up.
- Scarf Hydreigon is best brought out late game when fairies are gone and most mons are at around half health, as it can easily clean up from there. It's a good win condition to have.
- Paralysis will ruin your day even more so than the other sets.

Team Options
========
- Offensive Steel Types, such as Mega Metagross and Scizor, to clear fairies quickly.
- Mons that can force switches and do a lot of damage in a short amount of time so that Hydreigon and clean up later, such as Shaymin-Sky, Landorus-Therian, and Mega Kangaskhan.

Offensive Support Hydreigon
########
name: Offensive Support Hydreigon
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Tailwind
move 3: Protect
move 4: Dark Pulse / Earth Power
ability: Levitate
item: Life Orb
nature: Modest
ivs: 0 Atk
evs: 40 HP / 24 Def / 212 SpA / 232 Spe

Moves
========
- Hydreigon is a great Tailwind setter.
- Draco Meteor can bring almost any mon to it's knees.
- Protect helps with momentum.
- Earth Power ohko's SubTran and Mega Diancie
- Dark Pulse for consistent STAB

Set Details
========
- Lives Adamant 252 Mega Kangaskhan's Return
- Outspeeds 252 neutral Kyurem-Blacks.
- The rest of the evs are dumped into SpAtk to maximize damage output.

Usage Tips
========
- Tailwind helps you gain momentum, but sacking Hydreigon for Tailwind is the worst.
- Draco Meteor isn't as much of a nuke as it is with specs, so sometimes it's worth it to just go for Dark Pulse
- Do not waste turns of Tailwind, and switch to build momentum.

Team Options
========
- Offensive Mons you can switch into.
- Things that benefit from tailwind.
- Mons that won't cause you to lose momentum when you switch.

Other Options
########
- Bulky Hydreigon is OK but loses most scenarios.
- Flash Cannon is an okay move if you have something else to finish off the fairy that you have just weakened.
- Not many other options.

Checks and Counters
########
- Draco Meteor Switch Ins
- Paralysis and Sleep
- Fairy and bulky fighting types
- Priority / Faster Things that can ohko, such as Mega Kangaskhan (after a power-up punch,) Keldeo, and Terrakion.

I would recommend reading some other Doubles analyses. A lot of your sections aren't written how'd we like them to, including the title which I changed ElegyOfVGC . For starters, your Overview is way off the mark. Also some of the stuff you say is really sketchy like knock off checking Hydriegon and Thundurus-I/Sylveon coming out in ORAS

The other QC members and I feel you are not knowledgeable enough to write this up, based on the current write-up.

This will be reassigned
