Alright, folks, send your children to bed 'cause it is about to get real messy in here!

I'll admit that neither of those two were on my top picks for finals. But they have delivered in match after match and proved that they deserve their spot here. And that people should stop understimating them (well Gerard on singles, but you get my drift).

On the left side of the field we have Gerard! Gerard here is the only player left that hasn't lost in a single battle here. And all of those victories were in actual battles, no DQ (iirc). He defeated both P2X7 and akela on the first round and then proceeded to advance, winning against one the of the favourites Pwnemon, the newcomer surprise Mowtom and finally the Normal Gym-Leader Maxim. Of the three finalists he is the one with the best momentum going on and, probably, the one that played the best throughout the tournament.

Now give a big hand of applause to Gerard's team!

Team Gerard
Wilde (Gallade) {♂}
Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, +10% / 19% [Mega] Accuracy, -1 SpA)
Type: Psychic / Fighting

  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
  • Fighting STAB; Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.
Abilities: Steadfast / Justified (H) / Inner Focus (M)
  • Steadfast: (Passive) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.
  • Justified: (Passive) This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-Type move, the Pokemon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by another Pokemon's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.
  • Inner Focus: (Passive) When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.

Niki the Meloetta (-) | Jessica the Meloetta (-)
Aria | Pirouette

Type:

Niki was won by SubwayJ after he defeated all of his opponents in the Best of the Rest tournament. When she joined the team, SubwayJ quickly noticed her power, and her value to the rest of the group. With her great power comes a burden however, in the form of a second personality. Sweet and kind Niki can become ruthless and savage Jessica on the drop of a dime. The least predictable of the group.

From Gerard's team, pay special attention to Niki/Jessica the Meloetta. I wanted to say Wilde, but it only pairs really well against Colossoil, so...eh. ANYWAY. Everstone Meloetta pairs well vs Cyclohm, which will struggle a lot to damage her, and vs Aegislash, cortesy of the truly trollish Psychic/Normal typing and the low bap of dark-typed moves. And while colossoil beats Aria Meloetta, one simple Relic Song can turn the tides entirely, as Jessica is surely much less forgiving than her sister and is more than ready to smack down the narwhal without any remorse. Savate is the only thing separating Niki and Jessica from the proverbial field day.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And on the right side of the field we have Canis Majoris! Canis is without any doubt the underdog of this tournament, a title held before by Mowtom before Gerard defeated him. But I digress. Canis Majoris started the tournament bad, with a loss against ZhengTann, but then proceeded to recover and defeat ff7hero and then begin the giant hunting season. He soundly defeated Engineer Pikachu on a very surprising round 1, won vs the always-rusty-vet Smashlloyd20 and, on the upset of the century (yeah right), he defeated Dogfish44, one of the favourites to win this tournament. With both Engineer Pikachu and Dogfish44, his run was probably the hardest of them all, which is enough grounds to gain my respect.

Fun fact though: Canis Majoris is the only of the finalists to have never used his own mons during this entire tournament. And he has maxxed mons (few and kinda niche so maybe that is the reason?)! Is this a case of some mental block? Or Canis's cheapness is to blame for his performance outside this tournament? Maybe Canis should stop being a cheap bastard and bump the movepool of other mons, so we can check the answer for ourselves!

Now give a big hand of applause to Team Canis Majoris!

Savate | Gallade (M)
Literally "old shoe" in French, savate is a form of fighting that is adapted to circumvent the death penalty of fighting with a closed fist. It is defined by its clever techniques and versatile offense. Savate learned his name by outwitting numerous foes in Maylene's first battle as Gym Leader. ▶

From his team pay special attention to Savate the Gallade. Both trainers chose the same species as mega, which is only a proof that gallade was supposed to be banned already this is gonna be a very close match! Savate is Canis's physical powerhouse and, due to that, is his best answer vs Meloetta and Kecleon, being able to knock off their everstones and making them much easier to defeat. Also, Gallade pairs well vs Krillowatt (although Wilde is better vs the shrimp <_<), being faster and able to hit it pretty hard. The only tough match-up is the mirror one, as, despite the different stats, they hit each other with the exact same power, assuming equal items. For Canis, the key for victory is play Gallade well, quite a challenge considering who his opponent is. But Canis Majoris has proven more than once that understimating him isn't the best idea ever. Do it at your own peril.

Order of Operations:

Heads: Gerard
Tails: Canis Majoris

(Heads)

AND HEADS IT IS! Let's finally see who will win this ordeal: Will Gerard assure his domination of this tournament by defeating yet another underdog? Or will Canis Majoris surprise us once more!

We will see soon enough.

This is the finale, so why not start with my star, I wish I could have both you and Katherine one right now but you'll have to battle for the both of you, a tough battle awaits Gallade, so good luck with that, I wish you can beat the upcoming foe, you're a bright knight so I doubt an enchanted armor will be any challenge for you. Or any of the upcoming foes really. Just take this mega stone and reveal your true powers.

Not yet. The task is not yet complete. Just a bit longer...

And if I want to earn my reward... I must defeat you as well.
Let us begin. Aegislash... take a Dusk Stone."

IF Light Screen is up when you are to use Shadow Ball AND Shadow Ball is NOT Imprisoned AND Aerial Ace is NOT Imprisoned THEN Aerial Ace that action

(AN: 10 Subs still aren't enough for this thing. Seriously. Destroy me with your action set of choice, Gerard.)

Screw the illegal orders = no mercy rules, this is a final and I won't let it be decided by details.

Gerard - Shadow Sneak Combo isn't a valid operation. It is either shadow sneak in a combo or shadow sneak + shadow sneak

Canis Majoris - I am aware that ss+destinybond was used before but I won't accept it. Iar is backing me up.

So uh.

Gerard has 24h to adjust his orders.
Canis Majoris has 24h after those 24h to adjust his orders
I Ref after 48h with or without changes.

"Well then, let's proceed, shall we?"

Shadow Sneak > Shadow Sneak > Shadow Sneak
IF Gallade is under the effects of successful Quick Guard when you would attack it THEN Shadow Claw the first time, Shadow Ball the second and Shadow Claw the third
IF Gallade is under the effects of successful P/E when you would attaack it THEN Iron Defense first time, Chill all following times
IF Shadow Sneak in a combo THEN begin action string King's Shield > Shadow Claw > Shadow Sneak

AN: I don't like this setup at all. Screw ordering first against Gallade. So many ways to be screwed up.

If you can stall so can I

Wilde: Imprison [Shadow Sneak / Protect / Reflect] ~ Wish ~ Chill
* If Shadow Sneak crits then use EQ A3 instead

Round 3!

Oh sweet mother jesus

whyyyyyyyyy

If you want to stall do it right -_-.
DATA:

ACTION 1!

Aegislash used Shadow Sneak! (-3en)
Crit: 5 (no)
Damage: (4+3+4.5)*1.5= 17.25hp

Gallade used Imprison! (-8en)

ACTION 2!

Gallade used Wish! (-14en)
+25hp incoming

For reference:

Handbook said:
Any time a Pokemon is told to do something it cannot (such as using Toxic while taunted, using Rock Slide when there are no rocks, or using Electro Ball when it doesn't have the move in its movepool), what happens depends on where it occurs in the orders. If it is in the main set of orders, the Pokemon will use Struggle on that action instead of the ordered move, unless the effect that prevents the move from being used starts on that action, in which case it simply fails without expending energy. If the move is the result of a substitution, the substitution is ignored and the Pokemon uses whatever it was going to use in the first place.
(Imprison was on the previous action so struggle it is).

Aegislash used Struggle! (-5en)
Crit: 5 (no)
Damage: (5+4.5)= 9.5hp
-3.8hp

ACTION 3!

Gallade used Chill! (+12en)

Aegislash used Struggle! (-9en)
Crit: 5 (no)
Damage: (5+4.5)= 9.5hp
-3.8hp

Gallade fainted!

Grrr.... A slight setback. Crayons! Come out and play!

Everstone
Crayons: Flamethrower (Fire) ~ Shadow Sneak (Ghost) ~ Flamethrower (Fire)
* If Aegislash uses King's Shield A1 & you don't have a substitute up then use substitute (25) once and push actions
* If Aegislash uses a Protective or Evasive move A1 & you don't have a substitute up then use substitute (25) once and push actions
* If Aegislash has clones up when you target him then use Shock Wave

AN: And people thought Sassy Aegislash was silly.
"I wouldn't call it 'slight' so much as 'severe' at this point. Take a bow, Aegislash."

"As one of my friends would say, 'time to kick it into high gear'."
Gallade @ Galladite is sent out!
[Mega Evolve] Knock Off > Earthquake > Earthquake
IF Kecleon is under the effects of successful P/E when you would attack it AND you are NOT Taunted THEN Reflect the first time, Light Screen the second and Safeguard the third, pushing back every time
IF Counter THEN Future Sight the first time, Dazzling Gleam the second and third times, pushing back every time
IF Kecleon is a Flying type when you would use Earthquake AND it is NOT underground THEN Thunder Punch the first time, Ice Punch the second and Thunder Punch the third, pushing back every time

AN: Remember what I said about Gallade? I'll reiterate this for Kecleon.

A little annoying but battles against Gallade always are!
PS: I checked and Protean acts even during the charge phase.
