Well this is pretty much a sudden death match for this pool with the loser of this match having their chances of advancing past the swiss stages shot to pieces. The two combatants in this fight for survival? deadfox081 and former tournament winner smashlloyd20! Watch for Skill Frog on deadfox081's side since it has a good matchup on everything due to Protean. Well, until someone uses Skill Swap anyway. Watch out for Pyroak on smashlloyd20's team since it performs well against pretty much all of deadfox's team and gets flinched to death by jirachi. That said, both players brought their legends today! Enough snarking and announcing, let us get to the important part.

BATTLE RULES
3v3 Singles
Enforced 2 Day DQ Time for players, 3 for referees. Each player has one DQ warning a match. Go over once, you will use your warning. Go over twice, you will be DQed. This will be at the discretion of the player or one of the hosts if the player takes too long. Referees going over DQ will probably be sacked and replaced.
Infinite Recoveries/Chills per Pokémon.
Three Substitutions per player excluding KO Substitutions.
One Mega Evolution
Switch = OK
Abilities = ALL
Items = ON; you do not have to have the item in possession but the item must not be banned, similar to SICK (Banned Items: Soul Dew, Dark Stone, Light Stone, Diancite, Prison Bottle).

deadfox081 gets off to an incredible start, possibly the best possible start he has had in an ASB match ever as his Skill Frog gets some incredible divine intervention this round. Basically the Skill Frog begins with a powerful dark attack which proceeds to flinch the Jirachi before landing a critical hit with a slashing attack. The Jirachi responds be bashing the Skill Frog with its head before the Skill Frog slugs it with another dark ball which flinches the Jirachi. Alongside dealing heavy damage, it looks like the Skill Frog of deadfox's certainly has learned the skill of haxxing the opposition.

And we all thought Jirachi was the lord of hax.

A pretty dull round as the Skill Frog's offence is neutered by a defensive Pyroak that proceeds to turn it into an insomniac by injecting worry into the Skill Frog and burning it as well. Needless to say, the Pyroak failed to stop the Greninja from dealing decent damage but smashlloyd has made ordering first against Greninja much easier for the next round at least.

What happens when someone with a slower Pokémon fails to substitute for evasive damaging move orders first? This happens. To quote deadfox081:

"In this round, Skill Frog plays the role of Troll Frog."

Though it might not have been the best of ideas as the Skill Frog went into the red on energy for not much damage in return. Though having no access to Protean and being burned really blunted its offence to be fair.

But then again it did take no damage this round. Perhaps Jirachi will get on top of the Skill Frog this time. Provided deadfox keeps it in.
