he's decent enough, but he's nowhere near what Owen Hargreaves was. He needs to be used more on the national team though, he's been strangely underused for them despite the complete lack of defensive midfielders over the years.
Yeah, Michael Carrick turns 34 this year and only has 31 caps, despite being a consistently great performer at the highest club level for over a decade. A casualty of a string of cowardly and uncreative England managers, too afraid to deviate from the 4-4-2 or scared of the backlash of not playing both Gerrard and Lampard. We'd probably have done a lot better if he had a few dozen more caps.

Porto vs Bayern
Juve vs Monaco
Alaba out for 7 weeks, don't think this will effect Bayern's chances too much, but he is a quality player and it'll be tougher to win without him.
Real is in good form, Atletico just isn't a match this year
PSG just isn't the same without Ibra, and Barca is on excellent form
Monaco isn't on the same level as Juve, so I've got Juve to go through

it looks like united will get the 4th spot but even with the win over liverpool, the battle for 4th is still open

We need to be more incisive, we can't keep playing like this. Hazard was the only one who turned up tonight. A strong contender for goal of the season from Adam though, nothing that Courtois could do about that. And Cuadrado looked lost, needs more game time to adapt to the English game.
