Latios as a Counter / Hard Check

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Earthquake / Hidden Power Fire
- Roost / Defog

Latios resists both of Keldeo's STAB attacks and takes them fairly well. Latios's great Special Defense allows it to take Scald extremely well. Secret Sword hits on the physically defensive side, but still does not hit Latios very hard. Latios has to be wary of Scald burns and has to be able to switch in multiple times, hence why Roost is slashed over Defog.

252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latios: 84-99 (28 - 33.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Latios: 60-71 (20 - 23.7%) -- guaranteed 5HKO

Thanks to Regenerator and it's typing, Slowbro is able to switch in and take Scalds all day long. Thanks to Psyshock, Keldeo will never be able to buff it's defenses past the point where Slowbro can no longer handle it.

Mega Latias as a Counter

Latias @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 80 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Roost
- Substitute
- Psyshock

Mega Latias has great mixed bulk and resists both of Keldeo's STABs. Sub + Roost helps it to stay healthy throughout the matchup, Calm Mind improves its special bulk and damage output even further, and Psyshock is used over Stored Power to hit Keldeo's unboostable Def stat. Keldeo's moves can't even break Mega Latias' Sub at +1 and won't even 2HKO it at +4 (or at +3 if SR are up)! While Keldeo sets up a Sub/CM, Mega Latias can simply 2HKO unboosted or OHKO at +1. There's simply no way that Keldeo wins against Mega Latias unless it has setup at least 4 CMs and a Sub.
252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 52-62 (14.3 - 17%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock

252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Latias: 57-67 (15.7 - 18.4%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock

+3 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 129-153 (35.5 - 42.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

+3 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Latias: 141-167 (38.8 - 46%) -- 21.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock (unreliable 2HKO range and 3HKO if SR aren't up)

252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mega Latias: 46-54 (12.6 - 14.8%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock

252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Mega Latias: 46-55 (12.6 - 15.1%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock

+1 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mega Latias: 69-81 (19 - 22.3%) -- 0.5% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock (doesn't break Mega Latias' Sub)

+1 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Mega Latias: 69-82 (19 - 22.5%) -- 2.2% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock (doesn't break Mega Latias' Sub)

+3 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mega Latias: 114-135 (31.4 - 37.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

+3 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Mega Latias: 115-136 (31.6 - 37.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

+4 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mega Latias: 137-162 (37.7 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

+4 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Mega Latias: 138-163 (38 - 44.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

+5 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mega Latias: 159-188 (43.8 - 51.7%) -- 10.9% chance to 2HKO (unreliable 2HKO range)

+5 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 180+ Def Mega Latias: 161-190 (44.3 - 52.3%) -- 19.1% chance to 2HKO (unreliable 2HKO range)
0 SpA Mega Latias Psyshock vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Keldeo: 254-300 (78.3 - 92.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

+1 0 SpA Mega Latias Psyshock vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Keldeo: 378-446 (116.6 - 137.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
The given spread is used to outspeed Adamant Excadrill and give Mega Latias excellent physical bulk (and nice special bulk too!). Some Def EVs can be moved into Speed to outspeed major threats. For example, a spread of 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe lets Mega Latias outspeed neutral-natured base 100s. So... yeah. Keldeo has no chance whatsoever to defeat Mega Latias due to great mixed bulk, recovery, stat boosting and a super effective move that hits Keldeo's unboosted Def stat.

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Foul Play
- Clear Smog

Amoonguss can take boosted hits from keldeo and hit it back with giga drain. Giga drain will deal significant damage to keldeo, and will also heal amoonguss, allowing amoonguss to take more hits. Amoonguss can also erase keldeo's stat changes with clear smog, although it needs to predict substitutes. Amoonguss is notable because it can afford to switch in multiple times throughout the match thanks to regenerator.

252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 136+ Def Amoonguss: 71-84 (16.4 - 19.4%)

Mega Altaria is a 100% safe counter to Keldeo as it easily comes in on the Pony, taking little to no damage from either one of it's STAB moves, while it's STAB Hyper Voice goes through subs, easily grabbing the OHKO.

While Azumarill certainly risks a burn, CB Azumarill can easily tank 2 attacks and threaten to OHKO Keldeo even when burned:
252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Azumarill: 78-93 (20.3 - 24.2%) -- 98.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and burn damage
252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Azumarill: 78-93 (20.3 - 24.2%) -- 98.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and burn damage

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power burned Azumarill Play Rough vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Keldeo: 292-345 (90.1 - 106.4%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

So your opponent has 2 options: retreat, or hope that in the 2 free Scalds he gets, he gets a burn. Since fishing for a burn is a possible option, I left it as a check since it may not cause a switch, but I doubt most opponents would feel comfortable fishing for a burn when the result of not getting it is a 2HKO

This AV Slowking spread is more specialized to the job of dealing with Keldeo, being able to avoid the 2HKO from a +2 Secret Sword after rocks barring hax, and deal a hefty amount back with Psyshock, which hits the side that Keldeo isn't boosting. Regenerator allows for Slowking to be a fat dope that never dies, which means bad news for Keldeo.

Mega Venusaur as a counter
SubCM keldeo is a mon that wishes it could touch mega saur. It resists both of keldeos stabs and that allows it to easily eat up a scald or secret sword. In reutrn, Mega Venu can kill keldeo with its own stab Giga Dran. Since saur also has synthesis, it can repeatedly switch in on keldeo, and be able to deal with potential scald burns.
tldr, its bulk and typing to resist Keldeo's stabs makes it a counter

Due to its typing, and natural special bulk, Mega Gardevoir can tank any hit and retaliate with a HYPA VOICE, and KO Keldeo. Even with its sheer power however, Mega Gardevoir is only a check due to a lack of consistent recovery, and not being able to take 2 +1 Scalds, meaning that it can only switch into Keldeo a certain amount of times.

Crobat is a check. Boasting a great ability in Infiltrator to threaten Keldeo through Substitutes, Crobat can switch into 3 of Keldeo's 4 moves safely, outspeed it, and deal heavy damage with its STAB Brave Bird. However, it is not a counter due to Scald's burn rate.

Clefable @ Leftovers

Calm Nature
- Moonblast

- Calm Mind

Thanks to its fantastic ability in unaware, great special bulk, and access to STAB fairy moves, Unaware Clef acts as a fantastic check to Sub-CM Keldeo. Although Magic Guard Clef is generally a better 'Mon thanks to its ability to act as a fantastic glue, unaware clef is chosen in this situation as magic guard Clef actually loses the CM war because of Keldeo's secret sword, which hits Clefable's non boosted defence stat. (in case you are sceptical: +6 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 160 Def Clefable: 293-345 (74.3 - 87.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery)

Unaware clef can easily come in on Keldeo and either CM up itself, get damage off with Moonblast or predict Keldeo to not go for sub/switch out and cripple it. Clefable will ALWAYS win in a 1v1 scenario and always win on the first switch-in.

However the reason Clef is only a check is because it is very easy for the opposing player to wear it down with the combination of scald burns and stealth rocks, and can be overwhelmed to the point where Keldeo can break through it.

Nasty pass celebi was conceived to count subCM keldeo. First we will look at their typings Water/Fighting VS Grass/Psychic, able to resist keldeo's stab without investment thanks to celebi's bulkiness. Celebi can even take scalds at +6.

Celebi can boost its spatq faster than keldeo spdef thanks to NP and then been able to OHKO with a +2 gigadrain without spatq investment. With nature cure it doesn't care about scald burns. And can take hits from both sides thanks to the investment in def.

In conclusion Keldeo is just a setup fodder for celebi that can boost its spatq kill keldeo and then pass the boost to a sweeper. G_G

Jellicent is a 100% counter to the SubCM set. To people who say it is unviable, Jellicent can beat Rain teams almost single-handedly, spinblock. It also has a fairly good stat distribution, as well as a good movepool, typing, and ability. SpDef beats Lando-I, PDef variants can check Mega Lopunny, Mega Metagross, Mega Altaria, Heatran, Lando-T...in fact, it's an amazing Pokemon, the only reason people aren't using it as much as a Keldeo counter is because of Pursuit. It is very viable and a very good Pokemon.

I could put calcs, but there's no point if everything SubCM does to this is 0.

Celebi is a great counter to the above set, boasting resistances to both moves. On top of that, it has Natural Cure meaning it can cure itself of status induced by Scald. In turn, Celebi can setup with Nasty Plot and ultimately KO Keldeo with Giga Drain.

+1 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Celebi: 97-115 (24 - 28.5%) -- 97.9% chance to 4HKO
0 SpA Celebi Giga Drain vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 116-140 (35.9 - 43.3%) -- 96.9% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 0 SpA Celebi Giga Drain vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 236-278 (73 - 86%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Hard Check

Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Stun Spore
- U-turn
- Encore
Whimsicott can pivot into Keldeo with a fair amount ease, it can also lock Keldeo into Substitute or Calm Mind if it carelessly does so, Moonblast allows for a decent chunk of damage allowing a two-hit-knockout on Keldeo if it is unboosted. U-Turn is just for basic switch initiative and Stun Spore lets it cripple and slow down Keldeo. However, although Whimsicott is a lovely switch-in, it can get worn down by Scald burns and damage from Stealth Rock which makes it a Hard Check.
0 SpA Whimsicott Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 180-212 (55.7 - 65.6%)
252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 252 HP / 8 SpD Whimsicott: 81-96 (25 - 29.6%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Whimsicott: 79-93 (24.3 - 28.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

+1 252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 252 HP / 8 SpD Whimsicott: 123-144 (37.9 - 44.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Whimsicott: 118-140 (36.4 - 43.2%) -- 98.4% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Whimsicott Moonblast vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 120-144 (37.1 - 44.5%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Reserving Gyarados

Counter

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Waterfall
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Roar

SpeDef Gyarados is unrated imo. His type, his ability Intimidate and his good bulk allows him to beat a large part of the metagame, including non-HP Electric Keldeo.

The calc :
252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Gyarados: 84-99 (21.3 - 25.1%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Gyarados: 47-56 (11.9 - 14.2%) -- possibly the worst move ever
Dragon dance is good over roar as well, especially with some def EVs as it takes one dance to break the sub and resttalk let's you set up on it.
