Mixed Attacker
##########
name: Mixed Attacker
move 1: Hydro Pump
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Grass Knot
move 4: Low Kick
ability: Torrent
item: Life Orb
evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Naive

Moves
=========

Hydro Pump is Simipour's strongest STAB move, dealing heavy damage to any foe that doesn't resist it. Ice Beam provides good neutral coverage with Hydro Pump, as it hits Grass-types, such as Tangela, which resist Water. Grass Knot provides perfect neutral coverage, hitting Water-types, such as Poliwrath, for super effective damage. Low Kick can 2HKO Lickilicky and Regice, Simipour's best switch-ins. Taunt can be used in the last slot with a Timid nature, making Simipour an effective anti-lead that outspeeds every common entry hazard lead.

Set Details
=========

Simipour's EVs are standard for a special attacker, but a Naive nature is used for a higher damage output for Low Kick. Life Orb increases Simipour's power, allowing it to 2HKO Regice and OHKO Dodrio. Torrent is Simipour's only relevant ability, powering up Simipour's Water-type STAB move when Simipour is weakened. If chosen, Taunt should be accompanied by a Timid nature.

Usage Tips:
==========

Simipour should be used early- and mid-game as a wallbreaker to allow teammates to sweep more easily later in the game. Simipour has low bulk and no recovery, so it prefers to come after KOs or from a pivot such as Baton Pass Togetic or Volt Switch Probopass. Simipour should usually go for the safe move, unless the opponent has a healthy Lickilicky; then, Low Kick should be used on a predicted switch. However, Simipour should be careful if the opponent switches between Pokemon that resist its moves, trying to Life Orb stall it. If Simipour runs Taunt and the opponent has common entry hazard leads such as Monferno and Whirlipede, Simipour can be used as a lead to prevent them from setting up entry hazards and 2HKO all of them; however, many other leads can OHKO or 2HKO it in response.

Team Options
==========

Simipour fits best in offensively based teams which appreciate its ability to wear down of walls. Setup sweepers, such as Carracosta and Regice, particularly appreciate this; the former especially appreciates the removal of Poliwrath. Other special attackers, such as Haunter and Mr. Mime, enjoy Simipour's ability to bait and KO Lickilicky. Entry hazard setters, such as Golem and Whirlipede, wear the opposing team down; note that even one layer of Spikes allows Simipour to 2HKO Lickilicky on the switch. Torterra and Roselia are particularly good examples, as they can check Electric-types.

I assume you C/P'd from the Golduck analysis for the start of this, but I think you meant Torrent as the ability choice, not Swift Swim.

Thanks for noticing, also you were right about c/p'ing :o (just the headings tho)

e: b4 mag mentions it, im hesitant about putting sub in moves, although i might mention np pass togetic in TO

I think the set should be named "Life Orb", as this set is most commonly referred to as "life orb simipour", and it's the only simipour set to have life orb. It doesn't really matter though, so don't change it if you don't want to.

this looks good though, qc 1/3

I'd add Ninetales as a partner, given that it appreciates the weakening of Poliwrath and Lickilicky by this set in particular; NP Ninetales + Wallbreaker Simipour is a p. solid combo. Remove Sneasel mention in Moves. Also 'resists' isn't used as a noun and there's some other grammar stuff but meh

o btw you know this but ftr i'm not qc lol

the description of torrent should probably just be that it powers up hydro, I dont think saying that Simipour gets worn down a lot is very important nor is it the main reason to use torrent

when you mention Togetic as a pivot you might want to say its baton pass Togetic, also volt switch Probopass is a pretty worthy pivot.

Also there's a Sneasel mention in moves

get chekt

I think you should say "even Stealth Rock or one layer of Spikes", which is what i've done; just saying 'one layer of spikes' is totally odd, and both do get the job done after all.

Comments:

so, yea, "grass-types that resist water" is still bad-looking

A timid nature should be mentioned in set details

You don't need to justify Torrent's use so much as just mention what it is; if someone really wants to disagree, he can just go look at Gluttony, realise it doesn't work with an LO, and go from there.

Torrent really just powers up Hydro Pump, its not like you have any other STAB moves slashed with it, or multiple STABs on the set, or something.
