[QC: 3/3] -- Sweep / WreckDra / Fireburn
[GP: 2/2] -- GatoDelFuego / P Squared

Overview
########

Blissey has exceptional HP and solid Special Defense stats which allow it to function as an excellent special wall on stall builds. It has access to useful support moves in Wish and Heal Bell, and its ability Natural Cure heals Blissey's status conditions upon switching out, which allows Blissey to absorb status for a team. It is important to note that Blissey outclasses Chansey in the Ubers metagame, as Blissey can hold Shed Shell to escape Shadow Tag users and has a usable Special Attack stat that deters Mega Salamence with the threat of Ice Beam. Blissey's Normal typing is a mixed bag in that on one hand, it is only weak to Fighting-type attacks, which are not too common, but it only offers a single immunity to Ghost and has no resistances. The shift to a more physically based metagame is unfortunate for Blissey, because it is rather frail physically. Furthermore, Blissey has very little offensive presence, so it can often be bait for Taunt. It is also susceptible to all entry hazards, meaning that it can be worn down relatively easily. In spite of these things, Blissey is an important special wall that offers valuable support to teams.

Moves
========

Toxic puts a timer on Arceus formes, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Mega Salamence lacking Refresh, Mewtwo, and other Pokemon Blissey walls. Seismic Toss deals consistent damage so that Blissey is not entirely Taunt bait. Ice Beam is an alternate option that prevents Refresh Mega Salamence from freely setting up, as well as forcing Mega Gengar to use Destiny Bond if Blissey has Leftovers instead of Shed Shell. Snatch allows Blissey to beat Calm Mind Refresh Arceus formes and is more reliable against Geomancy Xerneas; Snatch also blocks Recover from support Arceus formes. Wish and Protect work together to grant reliable recovery, while allowing Blissey to pass massive Wishes to its teammates thanks to a huge HP stat. Protect can also help Toxic stall and scout for lure moves. Soft-Boiled can be used instead of Wish, as it will condense Wish and Protect into one slot for reliable recovery at the cost of making Blissey unable to heal teammates. With the remaining slot, Heal Bell should be used, as it offers cleric support by clearing a team's status conditions.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Defense investment makes the best of Blissey's high special bulk. 252 Defense EVs allow Blissey to survive some weaker physical hits. The remaining 4 EVs are placed in Speed, because additional power is not needed and 0 HP EVs gives Blissey an odd HP value so that it takes less damage from entry hazards; additionally, Blissey's already high HP stat makes HP investment less efficient. Shed Shell is the primary item choice and lets Blissey escape from Shadow Tag users. Leftovers can be used with Ice Beam, as it offers nice passive recovery and Blissey does not become complete Mega Gengar bait with Ice Beam. If using Leftovers, 20 HP EVs should be taken out of Defense to hit an HP value that is divisible by 16 to maximize passive recovery. 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD is a viable alternative spread that gives Blissey maximum special bulk, but this comes at the cost of making Blissey extremely physically frail. Natural Cure allows Blissey to function as a status absorber by switching into status and pivoting to a teammate, removing the status condition at no cost.

Usage Tips
========

Aggressively switch into and sponge hits from special attackers that Blissey can wall, such as Xerneas, Dialga, Kyurem-W, Palkia, and most Arceus formes; however, Primal Kyogre should be avoided because it can overwhelm Blissey with Calm Mind and Origin Pulse. Capitalize on forced switches by spreading Toxic, passing a Wish, or clearing status with Heal Bell. Play carefully around potential physical Fighting-type moves from lures, so scout with Protect as needed. Avoid giving opposing Pokemon free turns by using Protect blindly, however. Try to keep Blissey healthy to avoid being 2HKOed later on in the game, especially because entry hazards tend to wear down Blissey.

Team Options
========

Physical walls are vital partners for Blissey, because Blissey gives free switches to physical attackers such as Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, and Ho-Oh. Blissey is susceptible to all entry hazards and can be worn down easily, so users of Defog and Rapid Spin make for good partners. Support Arceus formes can use Defog, burn physical attackers, and appreciate cleric support; good partners specifically include Ghost Arceus, which is immune to Fighting and checks physical attackers such as Mewtwo, Extreme Killer Arceus, and Mega Kangaskhan while Blissey checks opposing Ghost Arceus; Water Arceus, which soft-checks Ho-Oh and Mega Salamence; and Rock Arceus, which counters Ho-Oh and checks Yveltal. Checks to Fighting-types, such as Ho-Oh, Latias, Latios, and Giratina formes, are good teammates for Blissey. Finally, Pokemon that lack reliable recovery of their own, such as Klefki, Diancie, and Tyranitar, appreciate the Wish support that Blissey provides.

Other Options
########

Blissey has a few other viable moves it can run, though it struggles to fit them into its four moveslots. Flamethrower works similarly to Ice Beam to bypass Mega Gengar, but it hits Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Scizor, and Klefki instead of Mega Salamence. If a team lacks any other place to fit Stealth Rock, Blissey can set Stealth Rock against the many special attackers it walls. Thunder Wave is a possible alternate status move that cripples fast offensive Pokemon, but it is not nearly as useful against bulky support Pokemon such as Arceus.

Checks & Counters
########

**Strong Physical Attackers**: The many powerful physical attackers in Ubers can switch in on Blissey, fearing little besides a Toxic, and proceed to force Blissey out or simply hit it hard through its low Defense stat. Some examples of these include Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, Swords Dance Arceus, Ho-Oh, Rayquaza, and Mega Mewtwo X. Mega Mewtwo Y and Life Orb Mewtwo can also target Blissey's weaker defensive stat with Psystrike. Note that Mega Salamence must be wary of Ice Beam and recoil from Double-Edge due to Blissey's high HP.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types are immune to Toxic and resist Ice Beam, and they work especially well if they have recovery or a way to punish Blissey, such as with Spikes or a setup move. Ferrothorn can stay healthy and drain Blissey's HP with Leech Seed while setting up Spikes. Klefki can set up Spikes and also force Blissey out with Toxic, though Blissey will heal itself. Genesect can deal a lot of damage to Blissey with U-turn or keep momentum if Blissey switches out. Skarmory can set Spikes and stay healthy with Roost. Excadrill and Scizor can potentially use Swords Dance and proceed to KO Blissey or damage potential switch-ins. Mega Metagross can hit it hard with Meteor Mash, potentially gaining Attack boosts in the process.

**Taunt**: Because of Blissey's offensive presence, or lack thereof, Taunt will render Blissey unable to do much against most other Pokemon and can even make it complete setup fodder for another Pokemon.

**Mega Gengar**: If Blissey is not running Shed Shell, Mega Gengar can trap and remove Blissey. However, it will be forced to Destiny Bond to do so if Blissey is running Ice Beam or Flamethrower unless it is a Perish Song variant of Mega Gengar, in which case it traps and removes Blissey with ease.

**Rest**: Pokemon that use the move Rest can often force stalemates against Blissey, because neither side can do much damage to the other. For example, Xerneas and Kyogre with Rest cannot do much to Blissey, but they will not take much in return, creating a scenario in which neither side accomplishes anything.

In Overview, Blissey only has one weakness to pick on, and Fighting attacks are not common in ORAS Ubers at all.

This looks good except for the slashing. I'd like to see Toxic and Snatch on the same set, as it allows Blissey to actually stall out CM Arceus formes instead of simply sit on them. Soft Boiled / Toxic / Snatch / Heal Bell @ Shed Shell can work if you have another Wish passer, for instance.

Did the first. For the second, I slashed it over the two attacks but do you think it would be better to slash it over both Toxic and the attacking move, or only the latter?

the latter IMO. Hack thoughts on Snatch / Toxic slashing, you've used blissey more than me and I have only used it in playtests, not in SPL

I like this slashing, Snatch needs to be on the same set as Toxic, Seismic Toss doesn't.
Arceus-Water does not soft check Primal Kyogre (pretty much the only Kyogre) in ORAS. they either carry Calm Mind + Thunder, or Rest, both of which ruin Arceus-Water's chances of beating it. Instead list that it can soft check Mega Mence (the Refresh + Return / Frustration ones in particular because these can take a Toxic) who is a very nasty switch in to Ice Beam-less Blissey (mention this also). Make sure to emphasize in your write up why physically bulky Pokemon are so important to Blissey's success (Because Pdon, MMence, Ho-Oh, Rayquaza all come in). Also put somewhere that Blissey cannot switch in safely to Modest Primal Kyogre along with your "aggressively switching into SpA attackers..." statement:
+1 252+ SpA Primal Kyogre Origin Pulse vs. 0 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey in Heavy Rain: 331-391 (50.8 - 60%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

If it gets up a CM on the switch, it just owns Blissey.
