LLAMA R3 Pool D: P2X7 vs. "Complications"

IAR is playing for Complications. Because that's a thing. A very complicated thing. Because, you know, the user is named Complications. This pun has never been abused before in the history of ASB.

Abilities:

Sand Force: (Passive) This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, using the power of the swirling sand to augment its Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks. Each of this Pokemon's Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks will have the Base Attack Power increased by two (2). Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Sheer Force (HA Unlocked): (Toggle) No default effect. Fittingly for LLAMA, it looks as if a lot of this match is going to revolve around proper usage of the legendary Pokemon each side has brought. For Complications, Volcanion is crucial as a means of getting rid of Mawile with relatively little pain. Otherwise it could be devastating for him if played well against his Gallade and Sableye, both weak to fairy. Burn's only doing so much with proper play in those cases, but fire-moves could be a very effective means of ending it. For P2X7, the value of the legend comes down to it being comfortable in most matchups. While Gallade could give it real trouble, there aren't many things that Gallade /can't/ give real trouble and the matchup could definitely be worse. It also boasts relatively neutral matches against Sableye and Volcanion, potentially making it an easy option when P2X7 isn't sure which Pokemon to go to or when sending out blindly. Stealth Rocks are also a plus.

But that's enough speculation. Let's do a "coinflip" to see who sends out first.

1 - "Complications"
2 - P2X7

Random.org says: 2

P2X7 sends out his first Pokemon with item
Its_A_Random sends out his first Pokemon with item and orders

Oh no it is Skill Frog.

Sableye (M) @ Everstone

Payback (Stall) > Knock Off (Stall) > Payback (Stall)
IF
Taunt is used, THEN use Magic Coat on the first instance, pushing actions back.
IF (Protective Move) is used, AND Greninja is not a Ghost-type, THEN use Feint that action, pushing actions back.

Also remind me to shoot Complications for not giving Sableye a move as useful as Taunt... @_@

Scald - Substitute (25 HP) - Scald
IF using Scald would change Greninja's type from Water / Dark to pure Water, replace all instances of Scald with Dark Pulse.

Round One: Into Darkness

The earth moves against itself. Volcanoes roar, the land shakes... and in the center of the terrestrial chaos, two dark-types herald the end.

They eye each other from the shadows. One cackles away in its ominous tones while the other glares at the ghost as his body drifts in and out of visibility amidst the background. Suddenly, SKILL FROG lurches forward and blends into the shadows around it as a bolt of darkness shoots through the twilight. With a mighty thud it collides against the ghost, knocking him back before he can catch himself. But he retaliates by slinging a bolt of darkness, long and cracking like a whip, into the general vicinity of SKILL FROG. The blow connects but SKILL FROG is clever. He quickly encapsulates himself in the ambient darkness, becoming cloaked in a web of darkness that ruins his concealment but makes him impossible to directly hit. The ghost learns this soon when he slams into the twilit shield, cracking it but not coming close to touching the frog inside. In retaliation SKILL FROG sends off a jet of darkness from his cocoon that slams into one of the ghost's eyes, causing a slight crack to appear. The ghost in sheer desperation throws himself around, luckily hitting the immobile SKILL FROG, but failing to break his shield.

At the end of the round SKILL FROG sits hidden in his dark void while Sableye rights himself and prepares to shatter the barrier and resume the fite.

Round Two: Dark Seas

Greninja shifts from his dark coloration to a more natural blue as Sableye continues to eye the situation. The two stare each other down for several seconds before the Greninja's body fades into a liquidy mass. A blast of water shoots from his body through the air, the whistling of steam accompanying it. Sableye dives out of the way but some of the water still lands right behind him and the splatter covers his legs with burning water. Undeterred, the ghost rushes forwards and begins to strike at the watery barrier around Greninja with his claws. Every strike causes the shield to vibrate more and more until with one final blow it collapses back onto the ground, leaving just the two Pokemon on the field.

SKILL FROG wastes no time and blasts the Sableye back with a powerful torrent of water to the face. It recoils for a moment after being knocked across the entire field but it quickly recovers and hisses. The ghost fades into the shadows and SKILL FROG looks carefully around it. Then it returns, right in front of SKILL FROG, and strikes its precious sweet stone from its grip, significantly weakening the nutrient flow into its body and SKILL FROG's ability to continue the fight.

Then more BOILING WATER THAT DOESN'T BURN. MORE PAYBACK.

Both sides are weak now, but Sableye is weaker and slower. HOWEVER, having a Sableye in OHKO range while ordering first does not by any means ensure an easily dead Sableye. In fact it's quite possible that IAR could still turn things around right now, or at least get in another solid hit or two before his ghost falls.

Round Three: Ghost Ships

Folklore is filled with tales of ships on the high seas that persist in sailing long after all logic insists they should. This is a similar case. Sableye rushed forwards surrounded in a blur of darkness and whirling air. Greninja eyed the advanced and leaped above it. Sableye turned and dashed forward again. Greninja sidestepped and evaded once more. So the match continued in dashes and dodges faster than any normal human could keep track of until, mere seconds later, the combatants arrived at their original positions exhausted and unharmed. But as Greninja recovered Sableye dashed forwards once again and struck it hard in the face causing it to stagger back. In order to cover its trail the Greninja warped the colors on its body until it became entirely indistinguishable from the arena around it. Sableye made a few more desperate strikes that hit nothing but the ground. Then the Greninja appeared again in the middle of a purple haze. He lashed out and wrapped his long, poisoned tongue around Sableye and squeezed the ghost for several seconds before jumping back to analyze the situation once more.

Both sides are injured, Sableye the most, but it still has energy in reserve and the ability to order second. For now I will give it the edge and suspect it will come out standing this round above a fainted frog.

Sorry to bring this up again, but unless I am missing something, Greninja has Rank 4 Special Attack without a Rare Candy, no? If so, shouldn't Sableye have 7 HP remaining?

Hydro Pump - Blizzard- Hydro Pump

IF Sableye uses Metal Burst, AND it is under the effects of Endure, use Spikes the first instance, Toxic Spikes the second, and Chill the third.
IF Sableye is under the effects of Endure when you would act, replace all instances of Hydro Pump with Scald.
IF Sableye uses Sucker Punch in a combination, use Spikes that action instead and push back.

Round Four: Stalling

IAR does the best he can in the situation, wearing Greninja down to the borderline of fainting while setting Sableye up into a relatively favorable position, even if it's tired as well. But since literally any Greninja move but Chill will lead to it fainting and Sableye can finish it quite easily in two moves, he's put himself into a situation where a tie is about the worst thing that can happen. But since he's ordering first against a faster Pokemon, a tie is still more than possible.

Round Five: FINALLY

Due to some very poor luck, Greninja gets paralyzed. After that Sableye can move faster with its +2 priority Feint and KO Greninja before it can strike back. This puts IAR up 3-2, but with Sableye slow, on low health, and with lower energy it's unclear just how much more he can do with it. Regardless, the ability to counterteam p2X7's next pick will be invaluable.

IF
Protect is used successfully, THEN use Chill that action, pushing actions back.
IF Landorus is under the effects of (Damaging Evasive Move) when you act, THEN use Chill that action, pushing actions back.
