The Legend Run: (Mowtom) Mysterious Cove

Gastrodon [Sluggy Slug] (F)

Like Mowtom himself, Sluggy Slug comes from Sinnoh, but from the opposite side of Mount Coronet. She prefers to stay relaxed and cheerful, even when taking repeated hits, but cannot stand it when someone mistakes her for a West Sea Gastrodon. Apparently the two groups have a long-seated rivalry. Who knew?

Types: Water / Ground
  • Water STAB; Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
  • Ground STAB; immune to Sandstorm. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
Abilities:
Sticky Hold / Storm Drain / Sand Force (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon's body is covered in a sticky substance that prevents item theft or swapping.
  • This Pokemon lures all water attacks to itself, altering their course away from partner Pokemon. It absorbs the water and increases its Special Attack by one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round.
  • This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, using the power of the swirling sand to augment its Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks. Each of this Pokemon's Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks will have the Base Attack Power increased by two (2). Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.

Ampharos [Deckard] (M)

Deckard found Mowtom in a bookstore, when Mowtom tried to buy Deckard's favorite book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. When Mowtom explained that he had always wanted to read it but was never able to, Deckard agreed to let him take it, but only if Mowtom would let Deckard travel with him so that the book would be well-looked after.

Type: Electric
  • Electric STAB; immune to paralysis status.
Abilities:
Static / Plus (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon's body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this Pokemon.
  • This Pokemon possesses a positive electrical charge. When a partner Pokemon with Plus or Minus is on the field or if this Pokemon has Minus, this Pokemon's special attacks have their Base Attack Power increased by two (2). If this Pokemon has both Plus and Minus, the boosts stack to a maximum Base Attack Power increase of four (4).

Mega Ampharos [Deckard] (M)

After a very close 13v13, Mowtom was walking home with Deckard next to him. Suddenly, Deckard stopped to pick up a stone from the ground. As he did so, an incredible transformation occurred. Deckard then refused to move a muscle before he finished considering what this means for the world.

Types: Electric / Dragon
  • Electric STAB; immune to paralysis status.
  • Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist (e.g. -1 BAP on Aqua Jet against Garchomp.) Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.
Abilities:
Static / Plus / Mold Breaker
  • This Pokemon's body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this Pokemon.
  • This Pokemon possesses a positive electrical charge. When a partner Pokemon with Plus or Minus is on the field or if this Pokemon has Minus, this Pokemon's special attacks have their Base Attack Power increased by two (2). If this Pokemon has both Plus and Minus, the boosts stack to a maximum Base Attack Power increase of four (4).
  • Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action. For a full list of affected abilities, see http://pastebin.com/sMzktgbV

Tangrowth [Mystery] (F)

Very little is known about Mystery's past. Even less is known about what her face really looks like, behind those vines. She almost always speaks in a whisper, when she speaks at all. One thing is certain though: Whatever she did and wherever she went before joining Mowtom, her life after joining him was much more enjoyable.

Type: Grass
  • Grass STAB; immunity to Leech Seed, Worry Seed, and all "Powder" based attacks (Poisonpowder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, Stun Spore). Unable to have Petal Dance disrupted by oncoming damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Grass attacks requiring an external grass source. Bloom Command.
    • Bloom Command: For the next six (6) actions, this Pokemon's "Grass," "Powder," and "Seed" status-moves will have fifteen (15) added points to their Base Accuracy (e.g. Grass Whistle goes from 55 Base Acc to 70 Base Acc). Type Exclusive commands can only be used by Pokemon that are naturally that type, and are still available if the Pokemon changes type.
      Command Type: Type Exclusive | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 5 | Priority: 0 | CT: None
Abilities:
Chlorophyll / Leaf Guard / Regenerator (Unlocked)
  • During bright sunlight, this Pokemon's cells absorb more solar energy, doubling (x2) their speed.
  • In bright sunlight, the Pokemon is surrounded by a faint green glow. The glow protects it from all permanent and temporary status conditions.
  • When this Pokemon is switched out during a switch battle, it reacts to the energy in the Pokeball and (ten) 10 HP is restored. When this Pokemon Chills, it restores six (6) HP in addition to its 12 Energy.

"Did you ever hear of the Legends?"

"What Legends?"

"Of Pokemon so rare, so powerful, that their very existence is debated even amongst Pokemon researchers."

"Oh, those legends. What of it?"

"They say there is a cove with a rare Pokemon in it. The Pokemon around there aren't particularly strong, and the place itself has been checked time and time again. But people still insist there's a legend there. But it can only be found if you can hear its voice."

"Sounds like a fairy tale. Lay off the whisky."

"Whatever you say. I'm heading over there to check it out."

There is a cove hidden deep in a forest that beckons those few chosen ones who seek the legends. In order to get there you will have to cross several kinds of treacherous terrain, but this may be your first chance to get a taste of adventure. A mysterious man meets you at the entrance, signaling you forward. Oddly, it seems like you're the only one who can see them. You ignore the jests of your friends and follow him. You think you've heard him speak before, but you can't quite remember what his voice sounds like. It strikes you as odd, but you head towards the Mysterious Cove anyway.

Mowtom , do you...
A) Enter Mysterious Cove
B) Leave the Mysterious Cove

"Hmm. I think that I came all this way and bought these supplies to back out at the first opportunity. Why does option B even exist?"

A) Enter Mysterious Cove

You leave the forest and come to the mouth of the cove. It appears to be low tide, as two rock paths barely sticking up out of the water are the only way in. Their winding nature makes them look like long whiskers. Looking closely at the water, you can tell it is slightly illuminated, though you don't know why. In any case, it looks like you won't be able to cross without some resistance.

A voice speaks: "Welcome to a nest. What these Pokemon lack in strength they make up for in numbers. Plan carefully." You wonder where this voice emanates from, but it would be better to think about the situation at hand.

"Mystery should have 2 more HP because Leftovers. Moving on as is."

Honestly could've sworn I posted in here after editing in Tangrowth's extra HP, sorry for the wait ;~;

Once you pass the Maw, you enter the cave, filled with many natural features. A slow but quite high waterfall flows here, and you can see a King's Rock up at the top of it. At various points along the waterfall you can see some Slowpoke. Seems like they're all trying to race to get the rock... but you might be able to grab it.

Player Options:
a) Grab the King's Rock
b) Carry On

Homestuck? Really? Bruh.

You watch the scene bemused, and see one of the Slowpoke finally reach the King's Rock, as it begins to glow a bright white.

You find a large underground cave that appears to be a dead end. The area's rocky surface drops into what appears to be a very shallow lake, insufficient for swimming. You turn to your guide, who disappears in a flash of light. The guide's form is gone, but you hear another voice.

"You have been chosen to undergo the test. I hope you have prepared well - the Guardians of this cove are a crafty duo. Do not think mere force alone will be sufficient. They will wait calmly and exploit any flaws in your strategy. Pass this trial, and have a chance at something truly amazing."

"Uhhh...those calcs are a bit off.
1) Sluggy Slug has 3 Defense, not 4. Zen Headbutt should have done 13.5 DMG, leaving Sluggy Slug with 93 HP.
2) You didn't roll Static on Metang for hitting Deckard with Ice Punch. This might be important.
3) Earth Power should have a BAP of 6 because of Levitate, making it do 19.5 DMG instead of 24. This one doesn't really matter though because Electrik would faint either way.

My orders would change depending on if Metang is paralyzed, so I'll wait for you to check that and reorder if you want."

Sluggy Slug damage added, Static didn't activate, Earth Power fixed fwiw, and I realized I forgot Lefotvers for the bajillionth time, so a little extra for you. Order away.
