[LLAMA R3, POOL F] Mowtom vs. Rainman Legends

LORE, LEGENDS, AND MORE ACTION, ROUND 2

This makes two Jirachis and two Landoruses. Though the Landoruses were both from Rainman so ehh.

"You know what? A trip to Peru actually seems pretty nice right now. I mean I have the CC. Llama spit sucks though."

"I thought you were reffing 'LLAMA'?"

"That doesn't mean I have to like llamas! Anyways, let's get down to the teams."

"On the left side this time is a player I'm familiar with who is known for sacrificing large amounts (and I mean like 120) of life to get hazards up, but to be fair he did almost beat waterwarrior in the end. Rainman Legends has stuck to nearly the same core this time, but choosing not to go for a Mega Evolution. Pay attention to Thundaga the Cyclohm. I would have picked Skill Frog but Skill Frog is overrated and Cyclohm does extremely well against Mowtom's entire team, in particular shitting all over Jirachi."

Landorus (Titan)
Type:
Ground:
Immune to Sandstorm. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
Flying: Immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.
Abilities:
Sand Force:
This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, using the power of the swirling sand to augment its Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks. Each of this Pokemon's Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks will have the Base Attack Power increased by two (2). Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Sheer Force (H): No default effect. When toggled, this Pokemon can energize all its attacks with a secondary effect (These are damaging moves that either lower the target's stats, raise the user's stats, or inflict a status condition on the target). The Base Attack Power of every move with a secondary effect increases by two (2), but they will never have their usual secondary effect.

Type:
Water:
Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
Dark: Ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks.
Abilities:
Torrent:
When this Pokemon's HP is lower than 33%, the Base Attack Power of any water attack is increased by two (2). (eg Water Pulse goes from 6 to 8, Hydro Pump from 11 to 13)
Protean (H): By default, this Pokemon switches their type before striking with each damaging attack to match the attack they are about to use, and keep that type until another damaging move is used. The energy cost for the attack is calculated based on their type before using the move. When toggled, the Pokemon reverts back to their natural typing. Dragon: -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist (e.g. -1 BAP on Aqua Jet against Garchomp.) Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.
Abilities:
Shield Dust
: This Pokemon has dust covering the outside of its body that reduces the Effect Chance of incoming attacks to 0%. This prevents such things as Burns from Flamethrower from occuring.
Static: This Pokemon's body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this Pokemon.
Overcoat (H): This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. The Pokemon is also immune to "Powder" moves. (Full List: Cotton Spore, Poison Powder, Powder, Rage Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, Stun Spore.) If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather, or powder attacks by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).

"On the right side of the arena is a player even I have said 'Who?' about on occasion, but in SiCK he pulled out a miraculous upset and is looking to repeat his success here. Mowtom has brought two of the most popular Pokemon in this tourney in Jirachi and Skill Frog. Speaking of which, watch out for Spock the Greninja. Rainman didn't bring a lizard to poison him or a paper to disprove him, and besides he's a Skill Frog. The only thing is that it can't freeze a Cyclohm but hey when you're Skill Frog do you really need a bunch of luck?"

Jirachi [Paper] (-)

Types: Steel / Psychic
  • Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.
  • Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Ability:
Serene Grace
  • This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack's secondary effects (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt).

Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.
  • Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.
Abilities:
Intimidate / Prankster / Justified (Unlocked)
  • When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as a Command, and will affect all opponents.
Command: Activate Intimidate - 5 En - Lowers all foes' Attack by one (1) stage. Only usable if a foe entered play this round.
  • The Pokemon is always prepared for engaging in sneaky tactics and trickery, giving its non-damaging attacks a +1 increase in priority level.
  • This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokémon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way will be maintained at the end of each round.

"Round 1 hype, right? And this time we get to see what everyone was raving about recently. Both players choose to send in their Skill Frogs for the mirror matchup, and with Mowtom ordering second, this mirror match is not going to be easy for Rainman Legends."

"Turn one is fairly boring. Spock uses a Shadow Sneak to avoid damage from Glenn's Low Kick, nabbing a critical hit in the process that did...two more damage. Hooray? Turn two is slightly more interesting as Glenn changes his tactics and goes for a Hidden Power, for defensive value as a Fairy-type, while Spock, seeing this coming, decides not to attack but rather to throw out some Spikes. That's going to hurt later. Turn three both Greninjas U-Turn out, and with Glenn winning the speed tie, it used the resisted U-Turn. So despite wasting an action using Spikes, Mowtom is basically even with Rainman in terms of HP, and that is going to change very soon as the Skill Frogs exit. Oh and by the way, of the four attacks this round, three of them crit. I think that's a record?"

"The boring Skill Frog mirror matchup that has defined much of Pool F has now eased up, as both players have chosen their switch-ins for U-Turn. Mowtom chooses to bring out is big guns, Paper the Jirachi, while Rainman Legends sticks with the old reliable Thundaga the Cyclohm."

"Mowtom shouts a command at Jirachi, and the crowd is excited, at least until they hear the command. Jirachi Protects itself from Cyclohm's Flamethrower, using up a decent amount of EN in the process, as well as getting a bunch of boos from the crowd. By the way, our ASB public relations department discourages the throwing of projectiles from crowd members at Pokemon currently engaged in battle. Especially if said projectiles are beer bottles and baseballs."

"Action two has some nice action, if you call a slugfest action (this crowd sure does). Jirachi's Moonblast combines with Spikes damage to lay some nice hurt on Cyclohm, who unleashes a stronger Fire Blast in return, dealing two more damage! Action three is a repeat of action one, only with more beer bottles thrown. Also I was almost hit by this random shoe. Pretty sure this belongs to someone in this crowd."

"Mowtom's Jirachi has more HP, but less EN, and Cyclohm outdamaged it this round. It's certainly close here, but who knows, Mowtom may be able to open a large lead ordering second with Jirachi."

"This one isn't even a slugfest. It's just a one-sided massacre. And we thought Britain vs. Zimbabwe was unfair?"

"Action one begins and Greninja uses an Ice Beam, hitting Landorus for fucktons of damage. Landorus responds with...Imprison? What the hell?"

"Fucktons of damage?"

"Whatever. This isn't chemistry clas---"

"I'm reffing this match now! Sorry for the inconvenience, Drake will have to visit a nearby hospital. Anyways, a 9.3% probability works out very well for Mowtom as his Action 2 Blizzard freezes Landorus, rendering it helpless. However, Rainman Legends cashes in on a slightly larger 33.3% probability of getting a zero-action freeze, and manages to execute his Rock Polish and Fly, dealing minuscule amounts of damage, but surviving. Still, this looks bleak for Rainman Legends."

"This isn't over you basta---"

"I don't think Drake will be coming back. Neither will Rainman Legends."

Rainman Legends orders.
Mowtom orders.

Since you logged out of irc right before I would've told you, greninja should use Ice beam a3 due to imprisoned subs being ignored. Also greninja should've used more EN

RAHHHH
Fly-->Dig-->Fly
If Damaging Ice Type Combo, Use Protect and push actions back.
If Greninja uses a D/E move and is not under the effects of smack down, Use smack down and push actions back
If Greninja uses Water Shuriken in a combo, Use Protect and push actions back

Mowtom

I'm truly still meta, enjoy this acronym!
