And Vrin learned that when under Endure, it is best to minimise screw-ups by relying on combos that call regular moves instead of combos. Or counter Encore with Dodge.
This is one of those "draw the battle out to maximise your advantage and give your opponent a taste of despair" times. Which is the safe play, but also the ugly play. Because it turns the battle to one of numbers instead of feels and skills. Okay I shall stop ranting because this is exactly the kind of "high skill play" that I obviously should not be salty about.

Actually, given the Knock Off meta, Weakness Policy might be a better item than any Berry. Especially since Vrin was down to his last mon. Nevertheless, the choice is made and Deoxys-A took to the field - and for the second time in a year, I see a Pokemon who defeated Rayquaza take much more hurt from a non-Legendary Pokemon. And the battle drags on for one more round because Mulan conveniently orders all the powerful coverage moves at the same time his Mega-Gallade is Tormented.
